Space Kitchens in Administration! Hi, I have worked for Space Kithens for over 3 years, and I have been astounded at the lengths they go to, to close a deal. Unfortunately Space Kitchens in my opinion still live in the dark ages when it comes to sales... in my opinion they still think that pressure sales, cold calling, canvasing etc is still the be all and end all.... IN A WORLD OF TPS REGULATIONS (telephone prefference service) they still think ...

Disadvantages: Doesn't arrive. REFUSE to resolve the problem!

...booked clear for our job. Ikea blame DHL their courier. So I said OK, use another courier - but they REFUSE to do so! We now have no kitchen until next month - thats no kitchen at all in the house, with a young family to feed! Not even a minor effort made to resolve the problem. *Update* Ikea staff said to us that they would only take payment when the goods are delivered. TWO members of staff told us this. ...*Update 28.05.08* We challenged Ikea about this money issue and were told they NEVER do a deposit then payment on delivery system, yet 2 staff at thier store told us this was so. We have now also put to Ikea that as they've taken our money, we would go with a suitable vehicle and collect our goods ourselves since they won't send them by another courier. They REFUSED to allows this! So at this moment, they have our money, but REFUSE to hand over ... Read review

Disadvantages: Bad service from the start

We are having a terrible time with KD. We ordered our kitchen back in April. The rep turns up at 7pm and does not leave until 2am the following morning!!! This should have been warning enough. Anyway, we have paid a £1,500 deposit. Having just had the surveyor round and telling us he would be spending at least 4 hours with us he then announces, after looking at the original rep's drawings, that the plan has been drawn up wrong and that we could not ...
...as it would mean the dishwasher and washing machine would have to sit next to each other and that was absolutely not their way of doing things!!!! He told us that the only way round it would be to move the window which would mean putting a new lintle in and causing a hell of a lot of other work.... nevermind the fact that we have already ordered and paid for our new windows. ...from where we live. Homebase for me had always been the DIY place just up the road for all the decorating and household needs. I had had a quick look around the gallery upstairs where they display kitchens and bathrooms but never gave them a second thought as a serious kitchen supplier. So it was with some surprise that the style of kitchen we had looked at in MFI was on display in Homebase. (MFI call it Riminni Maple, Homebase call it Napoli Maple) ...
...was ordered. Now Homebase do account card, normally I will run a mile from these, but this one gives you the opportunity to put your purchase over £1000 on the pay nothing for 12 months scheme. Provided you pay the full amount off within the 12 months you pay no interest. So why not keep the money in the bank and earn interest on it for a year. This card also gives you loyalty points as does the normal Homebase card, so there will be some useful ... Read review
