Konica Minolta 2550 - a step up from the entry level printer

...The Magicolor 2550 is positioned as one of Konica Minolta's entry level colour laser printers, well almost entry level, as it offers some very nice features without taking the price of the device too high. The specification on offer from this full colour model is a cracking 20ppm (pages per minute) in monochrome and 5ppm in full colour. The native resolution is 600dpi with a x4 dithering method which beefs this up to an effective 2,400dpi. The model on review here is the standard model, which has 128MB of memory, is network ready and offers Postscript 3 printer language in addition to PCL6 and PDF support. The 2550DN which is the next model up adds a built-in duplexer and has 256MB of memory, it also adds Pictbridge support for direct connection of a compatible digital camera. Konika-Minolta Magicolor with magical printed colours

Advantages: Vivid colours, reliable, prints beautifully
Disadvantages: Photo printing quality is only 7/10 in my rating

Advantages: Excellent picture quality, range of functions, lens quality, anti shake function
Disadvantages: Viewfinder not the best, low light autofocus

...Although Konica Minolta have now ceased making cameras, there are still a few of these around (and warranty/service has been handed over to Sony). The A200 is the last of KM bridge mount digital cameras in the pro-sumer market. It has a 8m pixel CCD and 28 to 200 (35mm equivalent) manual zoom lens - much better than a motor driven lens which tend to have noticeable "stops". Although fairly big (not quite as big as a D-SLR) and quite heavy, the range of functions available from fully automatic to fully manual with a number of programme modes in between means that you get pretty much all the benefits of a D-SLR in a smaller, more convenient package. Advantages: Super easy to use, light and portable and a great first digital camera for all
Disadvantages: The software is unsatisfactory, and the SD card included is far from what it could be

...This camera is perhaps one of the most user-friendly cameras that I have encountered. It avoids the trap of many other digital cameras, with only a few buttons which are multifunctional, as opposed to lots of one-use buttons. This combines with the easy navigation of the camera menus to make the DiMAGE very easy to use. The LCD display is also impressive. The refresh rate is much faster than on other digital camaeras. As a result, it maintains a sharp picture when moved suddenly. However, like many LCD displays, it is only visible face on, with a very small angle view. Moreover, fingerprints greatly affects the view and, although I haven't damaged the screen yet, it is prone to damage, especially from excess pressure on the screen. ...I have just purchased this colour laser printer for printing a small magazine in house. With the addition of the scanner / copier it will turn my printer into a multifunction printer / photocopier. For the price, compared to many other colour lasers, I thought that it would be of poor build quality. I am happy to report that it is a sturdy machine, weighing in at 28kg. It was so simple to get ready to connect to the computer, the only problem was setting up the software. The manual advises not using the found new hardware wizard, but without it it just won't detect. The print quality is stunning, even on normal paper. The 1200 x 600 dpi is more than adequate for most needs. Being someone who has mainly used HP on account of their high standards, I am very pleased with this machine. Great Machine!

Advantages: Quick Work-Out, Cheaper than Power Plates, Great Results
Disadvantages: Only tones your body, doesnt keep you fit.

...This machine is simply a must if you want to tone yourself up and not have the hassle of going to the gym for hours each week! I bought one of these off Ebay, and now so glad i did. Its simply an amazing piece of kit. My Personal Experience At first i thought, surely this machine cant be as good as i've been reading all over the net, people must be exagerating and just trying to sell the machine. How wrong i was.... The first time i used this, i trained at level 10 (ranges from 1-20) thinking i can take it at that level no problem, and sure enough i was ok, i did a few different positions for my legs, stomache and arms. I trained for about 10 minutes, as i wanted to see how much this would actualy do, and sales reports tell me that 10minutes of using this machine is equivelent to 1 hour at the gym. Boy oh boy did i feel it...

Review Minolta Z2

Advantages: Infinately (well almost) settings, accurate settings, only for the keen photographers
Disadvantages: autofocus and metering inaccurate, not good for occasional snappers

...I bought a Minolta Z2 about 6 months ago. I have been an avid amateur photographer for years, done the photographic clubs etc, got bored with the expense of processing etc and I have always had Minolta cameras. But then the digital cameras came along and changed all that. There aint nothing wrong with Minolta?s reliability, but there?s certainly an air of cheapness of the finish when it comes to Konica, but times are hard, they?re squeezing more and more out of nothing and that costs nothing. But it seems to me that as Minolta are still in control of the upper markets (e.g. 7Hi). It looks like Konica have stamped their position on the lower end cameras, i.e. this one and its predecessors: Z1, Z10 blah, blah. The workings have definitely the stamp of Minolta, I just hope that the Konica haven?t compromised with the quality...

A fantastic little machine.

Advantages: compact, fast, good quality prints, economical to run, good price
Disadvantages: start up noise (But I think this is the same with most laser printers)

...We tried to buy a Magicolor 2400 but printerland.co.uk had sold out and offered this machine for only a very little more. We paid £175 (GBP) including VAT. My first print was an A4 colour photo onto budget 80 gsm office paper and the print quality was as good as our old HP inkjet and so much faster. The picture quality was good enough to frame and hang on the wall. Although maybe not as sharp as it might have been had it been professionally printed, you had to look very closely to see the difference. It popped out in under 5 seconds - much faster than the manufacturer's specs. What we bought this for was to print brochures for my wife's business.
