...When I moved in with my boyfriend at the beginning of June, I expected to get a job pretty easily, but after the terrible floods that hit Sheffield in the summer, I found myself jobless and ofter very bored. After completing every adventure game I own, I began searching for something on TV to get addicted to. Jeremy Kyle - car crash TV

Advantages: Fun to watch - a guilty pleasure
Disadvantages: He's a pretty awful man

...The Jeremy Kyle Show is a talk show for ITV, which deals with a variety of problems faced by ordinary people. It's pretty similar in style to American talk shows such as The Jerry Springer Show or Maury although it is not quite as outrageous and doesn't have the same element of humour as these shows. Most of the shows seem to feature a lie detector test, a DNA test or both. It never ceases to amaze me just how many teenage girls there are who don't know the father of their babies. There are some genuinely horrible people on the show who call their pregnant ex-girlfriends 'slags' when it is in fact them that have been sleeping around. I feel sorry for a lot of the young girls on this show as some of them have just made a few mistakes but have ended up having to live with someone horrible just to provide for their family. Advantages: Gr8 show, hot guy, interesting episodes, gd 4 kids.

Stephen Trager (Bruce Thomas), plays the husband of Nicole Trager (Marguerite MacIntyre) who brought Kyle into their family. She's a psychoanalyst and he supports her work so much so that he lets Kyle stay with them for a few days. They're both great, and you can see the genuine affection they get for Kyle. ...Working from home I do admit to sometimes having morning telly on just for background noise. Anyway, once Trisha had defected over to 5, I tried watching the new chat show Jeremy Kyle. The same format is used, 200 odd people in the audience, one host shouting the odds, people without teeth on the stage telling everyone their business then saying 'shut up u dont no nuffin.' At first, his style was new. Rather than play the nodding comforting approach, he would go for the throat. If you didnt work, benefits came up, tax came up, more than 2.4 kids, that came up etc It seemed a refreshing change from the normal PC brigade. ...Okay so I started to think about wrting this review and thought I would give it one star but then I realised I actually am a bit of a sneaky fan of this show! Help! I'm sure the majority of you have watched this show and I'm sure that when you have you've been appalled by the subject matter and the state of some of the people who roll on to the stage yet I bet, like me, you've ended up watching to the end just to find out the results of the DNA test or the lie detector! Jeremy Kyle is very open and honest, he is extremely modern in his 'counselling' side of conflicts. He doesn't approach subjects carefully like good old Trisha used to, oh no, he is straight to the point and tells his guests exactly what he thinks.
