...After my negative last printer review, I?ve decided to review another of our collection. The Kyocera FS 680 is my personal favourite. Which is a strange thing to admit under the circumstances!! About a year ago while in the process of finding new printers my boss suggested this one, to which I recalled what the hell is the point in buying it?We need A3 minimum and definitely something capable of printing colour. My boss inevitably ignored my comments and headed straight out to purchase this. Incredibly this printer has since become a god send. Although only able to print A4 and black and white, this printer consistently chugs away day after day without a glitch. Kyocera FS 5030N, brilliant color laser

Advantages: Very reliable, low cost per page
Disadvantages: None

...drive, compact flash memory, high capacity output tray. Kyocera has one more ace in its sleeve - drivers. Imagine that they developed one super-driver for all printers/copiers they produce. That way once you installed any Kyocera printer, you can add more and don't care about driver; it's already there. And now from my experience with FS 5030N. We use 5030DN models (network interface plus duplex unit). No problems what so ever. Never failed. Installation is dead easy, just like with the rest of Kyocera products. Paper jams are very rare and in most cases are human related (average user can't understand, that you are suppose to put paper into tray neatly, and not just throw it in). Kyocera Finecam S4

Advantages: Small, compact and robust. Good battery life when new.
Disadvantages: Slow to write images to disk, short battery life after prolonged use

...We bought the Kyocera S4 about 3 years ago after doing a lot of research into camera. Not being keen photographers, we wanted a camera that was easy to use but that took good quality photos. At first we were very pleased with the S4. The picture quality is great and at 4 mp the files are reasonable sized. The 16mb card that came with the camera had to be replaced as at "fine" quality we could fit about 10 photo's on there. We bought a 256mb and can fit about 80 photo's on. The battery is a rechargeable one and this is one of the reasons to buy the camera. We had previously bought a Pentax camera and were very disappointed at how quickly we were going through AA batteries. The S4 had a quick recharge time and long life, enabling you to fill the memory card before needing a recharge, however 3 years on and the battery last...

Review of Kyocera Finecam S4

Kyocera Finecam S5 1 year on

Advantages: Picture Quality, Ease of Use, Small Size
Disadvantages: Auto Focus in Dim light, Slow to write to memory

...that makes Contax cameras. I do have 2 main niggles with the camera. 1. The autofocus is not very good in dim light and by that I mean indoors. 2. the camera can be slow (especially after being used to 35mm SLRs) to take multiple pictures (up to 5 seconds between shots) due to the time taken to write to the memory card. I suspect this is common of all digital cameras. This is especially noticable after shooting a video sequence. Overall extremely pleased with the purchase and would buy another Kyocera Camera, except for the fact that the S5 is so good, I probably won't need to for a long time....

T0715 for Epson printers

Advantages: cheaper to buy 4 but can also buy singly
Disadvantages: you have to look around for the cheapest as prices do vary

...The inks are Black T0711 Cyan T0712 Magenta T0713 Yellow T0714 Each pack comes in a vacuum wrapping and it is worth to not open until you need it. To use you just pull off the yellow strip and just drop it into your printer. It really is as simple as that. Instructions do say to shake the ink cartridge 4 or 5 times before putting it in but I have forgotten to do that and panic stations, but it made absolutely no difference that I could see but perhaps I was just lucky. These cartridges cannot be refilled and I have not yet seen any recycling place that it happy to receive them - probably just because they cannot be refilled. How long do they last? Well that is like how long is a piece of string as it really does depend on the amount of printing that you do. The colours are all sharp and good though. Summary It...

Acer 4810T-353 - a nice piece of kit but be ready to fine-tune it

Advantages: Light weight, long battery life

...I'm reviewing the cheap version - the 4810T-353, with the Core Solo processor rather than the Core Duo. It was bought as a compromise between netbook and laptop - I was originally going to get a netbook for use while travelling across the USA on an upcoming holiday, but my wife suggested getting something with a bit more beef. I was happy with the beef, but it'll be in my backpack so I didn't want too much more weight. As a machine, I'm pretty pleased with it, and would have given it four or five stars if it didn't come with so much bundled software - or "crapware" as it's quite reasonably called. After inital use with some very slow running, checks with Task Manager suggested that some of this stuff was really hobbling this machine (as far as I can tell the set of pre-installed stuff is identical to the faster version of the 4810T...
