...LaCie LaCinema Premier my review I already owned a 500GB version of this LaCie LaCinema but when I was in Asda and saw the 750GB for more or less the same price I paid for the other one (£129 I think) I couldn't resist the tempation. It's a multimedia hard disk that you can plug to the TV and it allows you to watch your media files (video, music, pictures) on your TV, it plays the most commonly used codecs such as DivX, MPEG, JPG, MP3 etc (see them listed later on). I recently bought the 8GB version from Amazon.co.uk (£29.99, the 4GB version is £22.30) because I regularly need to move large files around (recordings from my band, photos, etc.) and I NEVER remember to take any removable memory with me, so because this fits on a keyring just like a normal key, voila, I always have it with me. ...With people starting to amass more and more data on their PCs, the old methods of backup such as tape or CD & DVD are becoming woefully inadequate. As a result, by far the most cost efficient method for either storing data or backing it up is the external hard drive. That said, 1TB or 1 Terrabyte is a crazy amount of space and the sort of storage that would have kept a multinational company ticking over nicely ten years ago. The LaCie (pronounced Lassie, like the dog) 1TB unit is a reasonably basic device that only has a USB2 (although USB1 is supported) interface and comes with a suitable lead, external power supply and software CD. Review of LaCie d2 U&I 400 GB

LaCie LCD120 is in good company

Advantages: Brilliant color, and sharpness suitable for DTP and graphics use.
Disadvantages: It takes time to set the color temperature correctly, does not feature professional color profiles.

...I recently purchased this monitor, basing my decision only on the recomendation from a colleague. This screen now stands confidently right alongside a Sony P-234 professional grade widescreen monitor which is regarded as a high end screen and which cost me almost twice as much as the LaCie LCD120. Both the Sony and the LaCie share the same response times although the Sony has a higher native resolution at 1920 x 1200 which manages to accomodate 1080 HDTV without a problem, this is not the case with the LaCie monitor. This said however, in terms of the contrast, the accuracy and realism of the Color, which is a close match to the hues displayed by the Sony (which displays industry standard color profiles such as sRGB), and the sharpness (a dot pitch of 0.255mm) , this monitor is very satisfying indeed and and is suitablle for DTP...

...I chose an external hard drive over an internal drive as when I chose it my pc at the time had the maximum number of hard drives, which would fit in my pc. However I still needed space and felt it was a waste to take out a smaller drive to replace for a larger one so as a last resort I looked at the external option. It was then I saw LaCie and the d2 range and I knew I had to have it.
