Benalmadena the Costa del Sol

Advantages: Friendly town with lots to do, a lovely holiday.
Disadvantages: If you steer clear of the 'English Bars' there are none

...COSTA DEL SOL Benalmadea Costa, I'm afraid I was always a bit of a 'travel snob' regarding the Costa del Sol. I envisaged the types of scene in TV's Benadorm, a type of Blackpool with sun. As members of a vacation club ( it was then Sunterra now Diamon Resorts) we had the opportunity for a weeks break for relatively few points at the Sahara Sunset in Benalmadea Costa, as we could get Easy Jet airfairs to Malaga for a very low price we decided to try it. We have been three times more since then - so needless to say I was not disappointed. Benalmadena is only 15 kilometers from Malaga Airport, car hire is easily obtainable but it is only 25 euros for a taxi from the airport and there are plenty of excursions and good public transport available in the resort. ...On our recent trip to the Loire Valley Mr Tart and myself arrived in Tours quite late on our first night. We drove down to Tours from Paris. We were going to stop for something to eat on the way but in the end decided to make our way straight to Tours and get settled in the hotel and then find something close by. A couple of minutes from our hotel we came across this place and were really glad that we did. LOCATION: La Chope is located at 25 Avenue Grammont. Our hotel was on the same road so we just came across it. It is about a ten minute walk from Tours? old town. The restaurant doesn?t stand out and the sign is not particularly bright so make sure you look out for it. ...My summer holiday of 2008 was spent in Fuerteventura and my hotel of choice was the Hotel Costa Caleta. The hotel is also known by its former name Hotel Ocean Costa Caleta. Address is Av. Alcalde Juan Ramón Soto Morales Caleta de Fuste Fuerteventura Spain Tel:+34-928547550 I'm not sure if the hotel offers any car parking facilities as I hadn't needed any. It's a 3 star rated hotel and is quite modern and situated quite centrally in the resort of Costa Caleta (or Caleta de Fuste, or Castillo as it is also known) Only a short 10-15 mins transfer time from the airport. It has over 300 rooms. It was built in 2005 so is still quite new. The hotel is only about 5-10 mins walk (5km) from the beach and the shops and parks are all nearby too. They do have internet facilities with 2 PC's in the lobby with pay to use internet...

Cracking Costa Coffee!

...Costa Coffee have branches all over the UK. They serve a range of coffees teas and other drinks. Cafes are set out in a comfortable, modern style and the general feel is relaxed and casual. It is quite calming to be in a costa coffee shop and the smell is delicious. I really like the artwork they have on the walls - italian scenes - very funky and modern. They also have a range of plants making it feel quite homey. The tables, floor and toilets have always been clean and well stocked when ive been in - even at busy times. The staff have also been very friendly and efficient. Besides drinks they also serve cakes and snacks. These are also nice but sadly not homemade. Prices are in line with most other coffee shops but i still think they are a little expensive. Quality is probably slightly better than your average run...

...Costa Coffee is one of the 'great chains' of england and beyond (As far as i know). Almost anywhere you go, town, villages, and even supermarkets, you'll never be too far away from a costa. Costa Coffee started in America (I know. People say they are an italian brand but they are NOT), doing espresso bars around the country. They evolved since, and now you can find them in a LOT of places. They do a range of coffees, use pure ground coffee, top notch machines, and 'Professional Barristas' to serve you the perfect cup of coffee. From your morning cappuccino, to the afternoon espresso. It Costa lot but it was worth it!

...I'd never been into Costa Coffee before, until more recently that was when the delicious smells drifting out lured me in uncontrollablly. In Aberdeen, in the Trinity Centre (which can be found on Union Street), there is a Waterstones book store. If you go to the top/first floor you will find a Costa Coffee cafe. It looked quite a friendly little place, so we decided to give it a try. On the floor there are an arrangements of tables; some wooden and some metal. They are quite close together though so you have to squeeze your way through them. There was also a sofa and a low down table ideal for wheelchair users, which I thought was quite nice of them to provide - I'd never seen this facility before. At either side of the cafe you have book shelves, so people do come up here for books too (this was when I got drawn in!). Heading to...

...When I was offered a week of Spain I jumped at the chance! Club La Costa was offering a week at California Beach, near Finguerola for only 29 pounds plus airfare to Malaga. We knew that it was early in the season but figured we would take the chance and beat the crowds. Club La Costa is a large development about 30 mins from Malaga airport. You can take a Tiny Train between the Two main parts of the resort: Marina del Sol and California Beach (or as we learned, smile sweetly at any of the porters and they will drive you there!). In this part of Spain it is low season until June 1. So the restaurants and bars at the resort closed promptly at midnight - not at all like the Spain I had heard of where you eat late. Eventhough you have the main pool to yourself, this is for a VERY good reason... it is NOT HEATED. There is...
