Oh La La debmercury stays in Hotel Bellevue Paris

Advantages: Excellent location and good value for money
Disadvantages: Not suitable for disabled people

...The Hotel The Bellevue hotel is a three star hotel and has 36 rooms, which are all nicely decorated in either burgundy or blue tones. It is a four storey building with lots of parisian style. The hotel is a small independantly run hotel which is in a fantastic location 19 Rue d' orsel, 7518 Paris which is at the foot of the Sacre Coeur church in Montmartre. I had pre-booked a taxi online when I booked this break. Taxi was from the Charles de Gaulle airport and when we arrived the Bellevue Hotel was lit up outside and looked very warm and welcoming. The hotel has a small reception desk which is open twenty four hours and the reception staff are very friendly and helpful. At the side of the reception desk there is a large rack with lots of tourist information leaflets on where to go and places of interest...

Review of Bellevue Hotel, Paris

Very impressive

Advantages: Very impressive if you're into modern buildings
Disadvantages: Not typical Paris at all!

...The last time I was in Paris I happened to be staying in a hotel near La Defense. I was travelling for business, not pleasure, and therefore had not looked at a guide book about it before I arrived. When I stepped out of the La Defense metro station I had not been expecting anything and was so impressed with what I did see. A skyful of what are to me beautiful, modern, oddly-shaped skyscrapers. I thought it was a wonderful site, amazingly modern looking in a city where so much stature is placed in what is old and historic. I am delighted that I came across this place. The museum, or exhibition area, at the top of the Grande Arch is very impressive. It's also nice to get an aerial shot of Paris that ISN'T from the top of the Eiffel Tower! Visit Disneyland Paris on a Budget

Advantages: Low price for area, free shuttle service, adequate rooms
Disadvantages: No children's facilities or pool, inflated food and drink prices

Review of Kyriad Disneyland Resort Paris, Marne-la-Vallee

Paris, Oh la la, the best place ever.

Advantages: Always something to do, beautiful place.
Disadvantages: Not enough hours in the day

...of the Arc, you have to climb more steps, so far the lifts have never worked when I've got there... It's hard work but well worth it. You can see the Sacre Coeur from here, and you can appreciate the distance you have to travel between the two places. You get to see the layout of Paris, it's beautifully arranged, with lots of long straight roads, and if you go at Christmas time, you see all the lights. You can get a few souvenirs from inside the Arc too. Walking down is far easier than going up! Shopping! A huge well known shopping center is called Gallerie la Fayette. It's great, some of it is a little bit pricey, and as usual the building is beautiful on the inside. At Christmas time they have an ENORMOUS Christmas tree, its lovely to look around even if you don't buy anything. Catacombs. I've not been able to visit...

Tribute to unpersonal

Advantages: something new for people who never saw skyscrapers
Disadvantages: no architectural or historical value in its traditional understanding

When we got here, after seeing the famous sites of old Paris, i was just wondering, why are we brought here. Living in the beginning of the XXJ century, it's no suprise that a lot of companies prefer to have offices in a high buildings. it's common in big cities like New York and Tokyo nowadays. Actually, no one can be surprised by that. And in this case I don't understand why is La Defense considered as a tourist attraction of Paris. This is an ensemble of modern design scyscraper buildings in the outskirts of Paris, where the offices of companies like IBM are situated. Together with this, a "new Arc de Triomphe" is situated there, also being a modern construction of steel and glass. An "architectural site" is famous and much-visited not...

An excellent 2 Star hotel which should be a 3 star

Advantages: English speaking staff, Clean, Close to La Defense, comfortable, kitchenette
Disadvantages: Lot of traffic in the morning as its on a busy road

There is also an optional deposit paid service for a safe, iron and ironing board and activation of the room telephone. For phoning I recommend you take a international calling card and use the payphones right outside the hotel to make your calls back home. Hotel La Villa Des Artistes, Paris

Advantages: Very close to restaurants and bars in Montparnasse area and very quiet situation so you get a good nights sleep
Disadvantages: None

...We arrived at Gare du Nord, Paris during the afternoon of March 26th 2006 and took the No. 4 metro line towards the Vavin stop. This hotel is part of the Best Western Group and is about a five minute walk from the metro and is situated in a side street. We asked for a non smoking room and got a non smoking room. Our twin room was on the fifth floor, accessed by a small lift. It wasn't very big but as we were only staying for a couple of nights it didn't matter too much. There was a small table next to my bed and there wasn't much room between it and the bathroom door which opened out into the room. We had a television and a mini bar although we didn't use it because the drinks were too expensive. The bathroom was clean and modern, but the shower head took a little time to get used to. We had lovely fluffy white towels...
