Oh La La debmercury stays in Hotel Bellevue Paris

Advantages: Excellent location and good value for money
Disadvantages: Not suitable for disabled people

...The Hotel The Bellevue hotel is a three star hotel and has 36 rooms, which are all nicely decorated in either burgundy or blue tones. It is a four storey building with lots of parisian style. The hotel is a small independantly run hotel which is in a fantastic location 19 Rue d' orsel, 7518 Paris which is at the foot of the Sacre Coeur church in Montmartre. I had pre-booked a taxi online when I booked this break. Taxi was from the Charles de Gaulle airport and when we arrived the Bellevue Hotel was lit up outside and looked very warm and welcoming. The hotel has a small reception desk which is open twenty four hours and the reception staff are very friendly and helpful. At the side of the reception desk there is a large rack with lots of tourist information leaflets on where to go and places of interest...

Visit Disneyland Paris on a Budget

Advantages: Low price for area, free shuttle service, adequate rooms
Disadvantages: No children's facilities or pool, inflated food and drink prices

There are large chunks of this review that will be irrelevant to some but invaluable to others so I apologise in advance if the length puts anyone off reading it! Review of Kyriad Disneyland Resort Paris, Marne-la-Vallee

Paris, Oh la la, the best place ever.

Advantages: Always something to do, beautiful place.
Disadvantages: Not enough hours in the day

...of the Arc, you have to climb more steps, so far the lifts have never worked when I've got there... It's hard work but well worth it. You can see the Sacre Coeur from here, and you can appreciate the distance you have to travel between the two places. You get to see the layout of Paris, it's beautifully arranged, with lots of long straight roads, and if you go at Christmas time, you see all the lights. You can get a few souvenirs from inside the Arc too. Walking down is far easier than going up! Shopping! A huge well known shopping center is called Gallerie la Fayette. It's great, some of it is a little bit pricey, and as usual the building is beautiful on the inside. At Christmas time they have an ENORMOUS Christmas tree, its lovely to look around even if you don't buy anything. Catacombs. I've not been able to visit...

Review of Paris in general

Hotel La Villa Des Artistes, Paris

Advantages: Very close to restaurants and bars in Montparnasse area and very quiet situation so you get a good nights sleep
Disadvantages: None

...We arrived at Gare du Nord, Paris during the afternoon of March 26th 2006 and took the No. 4 metro line towards the Vavin stop. This hotel is part of the Best Western Group and is about a five minute walk from the metro and is situated in a side street. We asked for a non smoking room and got a non smoking room. Our twin room was on the fifth floor, accessed by a small lift. It wasn't very big but as we were only staying for a couple of nights it didn't matter too much. There was a small table next to my bed and there wasn't much room between it and the bathroom door which opened out into the room. We had a television and a mini bar although we didn't use it because the drinks were too expensive. The bathroom was clean and modern, but the shower head took a little time to get used to. We had lovely fluffy white towels...

Its Paris Jim but not as we know it. (La Haine

Advantages: If you can force yourself to watch it you will enjoy this film.
Disadvantages: Very few people will.

Review This is certainly not the sort of film I normally watch or would look to buy myself. Its good to have an open mind though. Often in life, its when you do something slightly out of the usual, something you wouldn't normally do, that you experience something truelly wonderful. This is certainly the case with La Haine. It premiered at the 1995 Cannes film festival were it won the best film prize before going on to win numerous other awards. These often seem to be prizes for grittiness to me, who can make the obscurest, least enticing film idea wins the prize. I suppose this is the case with La Haine. ooh la la- I love Paris!

...I stayed in the Pavillon Louvre Rivoli- Paris for 3 nights on a work trip in November 2005. I was really impressed with the hotel's location- a ten minute walk from Galeries Lafayette, I was in heaven! The desk staff in the hotel were very courteous and polite and there was a lift which was handy to get my bags to my room. My room was on the small side but as there was only me staying in the room (even though it was a double) I didnt mind, and paris is renowned for its small hotel rooms anyway. The room was pleasantly decorated in pale yellow and terracotta shades, the bathroom was again very small but very clean and toiletries provided, plenty of hot water as well! One thing slightly annoying was that on the first evening i reported the bedside lamp as not working, and despite reporting this again the next day it was still not...

Restaurant Au clair de la lune, Montmartre = non tourist fare

Disadvantages: Small restaurant that can be difficult for families or large groups, difficult parking

...Montmartre with its artists and strolling musicians is a tourists dream. Sometimes, however, you want to step off the tourist track and sample the real local fare. In my opinion, Restaurant Au clair de la lune, 9 rue Poulbot offers that exact opportunity. The environment is quaint, the food is excellent and the wait staff is very attentive. My first experience with Au clair de la lune was for a business meeting and the venue was ideal. My second experience was for a romantic dinner with my wife....again it did not disappoint. Living in Belgium, where the service is poor, I am very sensitive to and appreciative of good service. At Au clair de la lune, the wait staff was very kind and attentive which dramatically increases the pleasure of the experience. Based on my personal experience, I highly recommend the Restaurant Au clair...
