Ski La Plagne
Advantages: Loads
Disadvantages: ?
...My partner and I skied at La Plagne for a week in April 1999. After attempting to fly to Lyon we were diverted to Grenoble due to fog so spent several hours sunbathing on the tarmac while we waited for transport to arrive. The transfer should only have been 2 hours but ended up being something like 4 as a result. This nearly did for us as we had massive hangovers due to spending Bank Holiday Friday in various Horley pubs, before departing from Gatwick.
Although we were skiing the La Plagne area we stayed in the satellite village of Les Coches to the west of the ski area at 1400m. Our accommodation was a Crystal catered chalet that had the advantage of being ski to door. It was in most respects excellent, having nice rooms and a couple of shared bathrooms with baths. The staff were very good cooks as well as being lively...

Novice Skiier:Belle of the Plagne (Belle Plagne)
Advantages: beautifully scenic well maintained resort, suitable for all skiing/snowboarding levels of experience
Disadvantages: Expensive, Not suitable for those with walking difficulties
...I went skiing for the first time to the resort of Belle Plagne, La Plagne in the French Alps for a week which started 22nd January 2005. The tour operator for the trip was Neilson and it cost £350 for 7 days self catering in the 'Les Constellations - Themis' apartments, including return flights from Manchester to Lyon, and transfers.
As this review is of the resort, I will not babble on with my comments of the tour operator or the accommodation, I will comment on my thoughts of Belle Plagne as a novice skiier.
The Belle Plagne Resort sits at 2000m within the La Plagne Resort in the French Alps. For the first three days of my trip, the snow constantly fell creating an awesome daily scenic view to my ski virgin eyes. However, with the wide areas of untouched powder snow, I am sure weathered skiiers appreciated the natural beauty...

Space Station La Plagne
Advantages: Learn here
Disadvantages: Peak times = peak crowds
...Its virtually above the tree line, its quite ugly, but its about the best place in Europe to learn to ski. A great ski school with the most steriotypical Ecole du Ski ESF guys you will ever meet. It could be a wind chill of -50 and they will still be there with just a pair of ray-bans and a ski band. How do they smoke a fag and ski at the same time?
Can get very crowded, esp. at the main lift stations. Belle Plagne quite nice, but no night life. For the best bars go to Plagne Centre.
If you want to know what altitude sickness feels like, then go up to the glacier and take the chair lift to the left. Great view of the whole planet from up there - one of the best around.
So overal, a great place to catch the skiing / boarding bug. Don't go at peak times and make sure that if you go to Belle Plagne, that you buy a little sled and slide...

Le Cervin Plange Soleil France Odlays Residence
Advantages: Ski to/from door, close to centre, smal village quiet, parking
Disadvantages: Tatty, tired, basic no frills.
...This review is on Le Cervin Apartments in Plagne Soleil at 2050M in the resort of La Plagne French Alpes.
I am also going to review the whole area of La Plagne in a different review as I think it will be to long to put both together. In the other review I will price items and talk about areas other than Plagne Soleil.
Well where to start, oh yes. I must say it was not our accommodation of choice so forgive me for the negatives but we were supposed to have a fully catered for chalet in Plagne Centre.
Le Cervin as I have already mentioned is in the resort of La Plagne in France which is made up of 7 varying sized areas.
The Cervin is partly private and partly public available block, when I say this I mean that some are run by Odlays and others are privately owned all in the same block. There are about 100 rooms in the block. The north...

La Chope
Advantages: Great food, reasonable fixed price menu
Disadvantages: None
...On our recent trip to the Loire Valley Mr Tart and myself arrived in Tours quite late on our first night. We drove down to Tours from Paris. We were going to stop for something to eat on the way but in the end decided to make our way straight to Tours and get settled in the hotel and then find something close by. A couple of minutes from our hotel we came across this place and were really glad that we did.
LOCATION:
La Chope is located at 25 Avenue Grammont. Our hotel was on the same road so we just came across it. It is about a ten minute walk from Tours? old town. The restaurant doesn?t stand out and the sign is not particularly bright so make sure you look out for it.
THE EXPERIENCE:
La Chope (which apparently translates as the tankard) is actually a fish restaurant. I?m not really a fish person (ok, that...

La Boqueria - Barcelona's Technicolour Market
Advantages: A colouful and compelling sight, pick up some tasty food
Disadvantages: You may not be able to take some of it home
...Situated just off Las Ramblas, Barcelona?s Boqueria (or more correctly Mercat de San Josep) market is one of the city?s most popular tourist attractions. I think it says a lot about the enduring attraction of food markets that the Boqueria is still so popular in spite of the fact that our supermarkets now stock excellent produce from all over the world and that air travel and border restrictions have made it more difficult to take fresh produce home from trips abroad. When I first visited the Boqueria I was filled with excitement at the array of colourful fresh produce ? fruit and vegetables, herbs, fish and shellfish, meats ? fresh and cured, bread, nuts and dried fruit ? on sale at the market but over time, as I have traveled more widely, "La Boqueria" has lost a little of its gloss.
You?ll find the Boqueria quite easily just off...

la senza
Advantages: great selection
Disadvantages: n/a
...If i need to buy lingerie there is only one place that I go to and that is La Senza.
La Senza is great and stocks everything from underwear, bras, slippers, nightwear and dressing gowns.
They have great bra's im many different styles and colours that have matching underwear you will always find what your are looking for. They have the multiways bra's and the bra solutions too, which is great especially if you are planning on wearing say a backless dress for example.
I have learnt over the years that you can get great offers in La Senza on there buy one get one free, or the buy so many items for a set price. Which is fantastic as you otherwse find that a few sets cost you over £50.
I would also recommend that you try the bra's on as i find that i am a different size bra in each different style.
The biggest problem i have is...

La Senza: A Case of 'Bra-vo'?
Advantages: Reasonably priced bras and lingerie, excellent staff and services
Disadvantages: You may struggle to find your size
...(Warning: throughout this review, the words ?boobs?, ?boobies?, ?bazookas? and occasionally ?breasts? will pop up at an alarming rate. If you?re not in favour of any of the above, please use the ?back? button and exit left. Thank you.)
It?s always been quite nice to have a womanly figure ? so what if men notice your boobs before your face? At least they?re looking...at least, that?s the confidence boosting way to look at things! Anyway, whilst we?re on the subject of ?boosting?, it?s pretty incredible how when I visited one of my local La Senza stores the other week, I was informed that my bazookas had boomed up a couple of bra sizes without the aid of knives and other messy instruments. It?s most women?s fantasy to be able to say that but I met the news with utter dread, only to be consoled by the lovely shop worker who kindly told...

Oh La La Senza
Advantages: Real nice stuff- very sexy- great range.
Disadvantages: the sizes vary with each bra.
...La Senza. Well, what is NOT amazing about it? When i walk into the doors of La Senza i am always greated with a warm welcoming from their trained staff. The selections are always set out neatly and i feel that i'm not going into a jumble sale; as with many shops that i have been into.
The styles of Bras and underwear are very nice, however, as a student i would have to say that some are rather expensive. However, they do do the odd deal that i find rather benefitial, so they ARE considering those that are poor and wish to dazzle their other halfs ;).
However, One thing i would say that is a disadvantage is that they do not accomidate for larger sizes. One size i know they do not do as a fact is size 44D, which is rather rubbish if you happen to be that size. However, being within the size boundaries i am able to find a large range...

A day in La Rochelle
Advantages: Plenty to do
Disadvantages: Expensive shopping
...La Rochelle is a town on the West Coast of France. It is a large harbour town, and at one point in its history it was the largest harbour in France.
We visited La Rochelle twice during our stay in France, one day was spent in the Aquarium which I have reviewed separately, and one day was spent around the market and the harbour.
Driving into the town is relatively simple, the car parks are well signposted, and we decided to park right on the harbour front. The charges for the car park were very reasonable, at least compared to car parks where I live; it was just a couple of Euros for a full day.
From the harbour car park we walked approximately 10 minutes into the shopping precinct. There was a small outdoor market in the centre, mainly selling fruit and vegetables. There was also an indoor market which also has fruits...
