Childhood's End

Advantages: Pink Floyd Soundtrack, interesting film
Disadvantages: Little "action"

...Point' (1970) was a film by Michelangelo Antonioni, and that also featured some music by the Floyd, one track of which, Antonioni didn't like, since he said it was too sad, but it was re-worked in 1972, when Wright made it into the epic, "Great Gig in the Sky", from 'Dark Side of the Moon'. I bought 'More' on DVD a few years ago, and had always wanted to see 'La Vallée', just to see where the music fitted in, and so that I could say I had seen it. The distressing thing was, it is near impossible to get, there has been the odd copy on eBay for £20, and a few are on amazon.com, however they are region 1 DVD's, and on my meagre, then student, now unemployed budget - too much money. When I wrote my 'Obscured by Clouds' review though, a kind little birdie informed me that someone had uploaded it onto YouTube - so off I went and immediately began...

Visit Disneyland Paris on a Budget

Advantages: Low price for area, free shuttle service, adequate rooms
Disadvantages: No children's facilities or pool, inflated food and drink prices

...for. ★ Arrival / Checking In ★ Fortunately, it transpired that the free Disney shuttle bus service DOES run from the train station to the hotel so that was a big relief. Outside the station, Marne la Vallee Chessy, there's a bus stop on the opposite side of the road to the exit where a number 54 Disney shuttle bus collects and drops off Disney customers staying at the four budget hotels: "Dream Castle", "Explorers", "Holiday Inn" and "Kyriad". You do not have to activate your Disney tickets to use this service which is a relief for those not visiting the park on their day of arrival and you don't have to pay or even provide any form of identification. Presumably the reason for this is that there's not much point using these shuttles unless you're on a Disneyland holiday! There isn't much in the area besides...

Advantages: Great food, reasonable fixed price menu

...On our recent trip to the Loire Valley Mr Tart and myself arrived in Tours quite late on our first night. We drove down to Tours from Paris. We were going to stop for something to eat on the way but in the end decided to make our way straight to Tours and get settled in the hotel and then find something close by. A couple of minutes from our hotel we came across this place and were really glad that we did. LOCATION: La Chope is located at 25 Avenue Grammont. Our hotel was on the same road so we just came across it. It is about a ten minute walk from Tours? old town. The restaurant doesn?t stand out and the sign is not particularly bright so make sure you look out for it.   La Senza: A Case of 'Bra-vo'?

La Boqueria - Barcelona's Technicolour Market

Great Fun For The Kids!

Advantages: Swimming pool, complimentary breakfast, fun pirate decor, free bus.

...My partner and I stayed at the Thomas Cook Explorers hotel for two nights at the beginning of this month. I won a trip to Disneyland Paris in a competition held by Thomas Cook so in this review I regret I am unable to comment on prices, however I intend to give my opinion of all aspects of our stay at the hotel. Upon arriving at Marne la Vallee station on the Eurostar, we found several bus stops outside for the various hotels surrounding Disney. We spent a good 10 minutes trying to locate the right bus stop for the free shuttle bus to the Explorers hotel, but the station staff were very helpful. The bus stop is in fact the first bus stop you come to outside the station on the OTHER SIDE of the road, and it does not have a bus shelter like the others. Travelling from Ashford to Marne La Valle'e

Advantages: fairly comfy seats

...I travelled from Ashford international to Marne La Valle'e the the station at Ashford there was lovely plenty of space to move around and places to get a drink or a snack before you departed i felt like i was in a airport. Arrived at Marne La Valle'e station baggage was all sorted out at disney express and taken to hotel no problems there. On the day of departure from the hotel you take your bag and check it in at luggage room then you have the rest of the time before your journey to enjoy the parks. Arrived at Marne La Valle'e station collected baggage no problems there. This is where the fun starts there is a full train full of passangers travelling back i guess well over 200 passangers and baggage were all waiting for the check in desk to open, we arrived early (approx 2 hours early)to avoid the rush. ...If i need to buy lingerie there is only one place that I go to and that is La Senza. La Senza is great and stocks everything from underwear, bras, slippers, nightwear and dressing gowns. They have great bra's im many different styles and colours that have matching underwear you will always find what your are looking for. They have the multiways bra's and the bra solutions too, which is great especially if you are planning on wearing say a backless dress for example. I have learnt over the years that you can get great offers in La Senza on there buy one get one free, or the buy so many items for a set price. Which is fantastic as you otherwse find that a few sets cost you over £50. I would also recommend that you try the bra's on as i find that i am a different size bra in each different style. We stayed in a Holliday Inn hotel near LAX, once we arrived here we found a brochure on VIP Tours and decided to go on what they call the most popular tour which was called the 'Grand Tour of Los Angeles'. It cost in American dollars $59 (adult) and $40 (child). One American dollar is roughly equal to roughly 0.6 United Kingdom Pounds. It was very easy to book this tour with the representative in our hotel for the next day. We had a few different times we could have chosen to go on out tour.
