Labec headsets arent all bad it seems

Advantages: High quality sound an mic
Disadvantages: only one ear headphone

...People that have read some of my reviews will remember my damning review of the Labtec Gaming Fx:1 headset and the experiences of this headset put me off buying another Labtec headset. Now you might be saying how can you do another review on a Labtec headset if you never got another one? Well the answer is I never got another one, my dad got me another one as a present :s. He didn't know all the trouble with the 1st Labtec headset but I decided to give this headset a go because it was quite a thoughtful gift and it looked like Labtec had learned their lesson with "comfortable behind the ear" style headset and made a normal headset. I started using this headset with a bit of a closed mind but after the 1st couple of hours I was in love with it. The Axis 711 is a superb headset! Nothing like its "troublesome little brother" the Labtec...

...The Labtec Gaming Fx:1 Headset was the 1st headset i bought for gaming and when i got it i was quite happy because at the time i didn't have very much money and they were quite cheap (£11 from a computer shop in the Metro Centre i think) I was quite happy until about a week later, then all the problems started to come out on this little bundle from hell. The problems on the Labtec Gaming Fx:1 Headset are quite bad and i would never buy it again, but there are some redeeming features on this headset. ...This headset is a bit expensive for its quality. Although i bought mine outside the country for a considerable lesser price, had i known better, i would have bought a wireless one. It is still functional after two years. I lost both of the voice tube microphone cover though and i think that is whats causing too much echo when i talk and too much mic sensitivity. That also causes alot of feed back so i have to press on mute all the time, and everytime i am done speaking, to avoid the feedbacks. On the upside it supports all Plantronics amplifiers and USB-to-headset adapters so i guess i just have to get one. It is also comfortable to wear for long hours. I would not recommend to get leatherette ear cushions, that made my ears sweat and itchy eeks....

Microsoft XBOX 360 wireless headset

...The microsoft xbox 360 wirless headset is very attractive and fits the ear very well - at least it fits mine anyway. The headset isnt particularly good at picking up quiet speech though, which is often a let down during games that require alot of detailed communication for tactics such as Gears Of War 2 or Call Of Duty WAW. The headset is priced at £34.99 RRP, which i think is quite reasonable for what you're getting. The headset comes with full instructions and a charge cable that plugs into the 360's USB point. It cannot be used in a play-and-charge situation which gets annoying so you have to leave it overnight to charge. It is mcuh less cumbersom that the various wired headsets on the market and has a good range using the 360's infra red technology system.
