Porsche Performance?
Advantages: Good Looking, Robust
Disadvantages: Scratch Easily, Heavy
...of the feet fell off at the back. One went bouncing off under a desk never to be seen again and the other is now super-glued to the bottom in the middle. I shudder to think of poor Porsche drivers speeding along the motorway suddenly finding their back wheels have sprung off... and I doubt super-glue would be of use!
The drive has maintained a minimalist look. A tiny orange LED appears when the drive is on, and flickers to show activity. Aside from that there is no indication of the drive's status. At various points around the housing, the "Lacie" logo and "Design by F.A. Porsche" are engraved into the aluminium giving the unit a sort of personalised/prestigious feel. Let's not get carried away here though, it's still a hard disk no matter who designed it and does the same job as your regular unit!
Moving away from appearances, as we all know...

Calzaghe's finest night: Calzaghe v Lacy DVD
Advantages: Superb re-run of the explosive fight.
Disadvantages: none
...Over the many years of collecting and watching boxing DVDs, you sometimes come across a fight that really gets the adrenaline flowing. I?ve got a fair few relics from boxing?s past with fights like Benn v Eubank, Tyson v Bruno and Lewis v Tyson However in the more modern era of boxing, these gems are harder to find. You have to filter your way down the divisions from the ailing heavyweights and welterweights to much more exciting battle royales in the lower divisions, namely, the super middleweights and Joe Calzaghe.
Alas, one of the best fighters Britain has ever produced has now retired, but you can watch one of his finest moments in full Technicolor with his incredible fight against Jeff Lacy.
Just to put this fight into context, Jeff Lacy at the time of the fight was the challenger, however entered the ring with an unbeaten...

Lacking that Porsche Feel!
Advantages: Fast, Nice Design and Good Value.
Disadvantages: Dodgy Power Supply and A Bit Too Loud.
...I purchased my LaCie 200GB USB2 Hard Drive a little over 4 months ago and have given it some hefty use since I got it. I paid £109.99 for the drive which has now dropped considerably especially on some of the stores you can find here through Ciao.
The drive came in a good sized box not much bigger than your average software box for say a copy of Windows XP, and was well packed inside in a plastic wrapper and some foam holding pieces.
The drive was in perfect condition and looked as it should. Also in the box came the two part power supply (adapter and plug also comes with a two pin plug for outside UK) a short but sturdy USB2 Cable, the "Getting Started" Guide and Utility Disk. Everything you need to get you going.
Setup was super easy so that any novice computer user can get to grips with this drive. The "Getting Started...

Lacie Dual DVD Writer USB 2.0 (Mac and PC)
Advantages: Reliable, well built, works easily.
Disadvantages: Not a speed demon
...The LaCie DVD+/-RW Double Layer Drive USB 2.0 is a very reliable and strongly built machine. I've had it for a few months now and it hasnt let me down yet. I use it weekly to back up my photography files onto dvd and various other documents and it does the job perfectly.
Ok, its no speed demon, it took a good 1/2 hour to burn footage of my 1 year old nephew through iDVD but it got the job done and as long as you have the time, its no problem at all. A kool feature is that its basically a 4 in 1 drive. It'll read cd's, write cd's, read dvd's and burn dvd's. The cd thing isnt so great now as most computers come with cd readers and writers built in but its handy to have any way.
I love the design of this drive. It's not the clunky slab of grey tinny metal I'm used to, but a sleek well desined effort that sits elegantly on your...

Porsche 944 Review
Advantages: Fun to drive-decent gas mileage
Disadvantages: expensive to maintain
...I have had two 944s over the past few years. This little review is to forewarn any prospective 944 buyers as to what they might be getting into. I loved these cars. They are fun to drive and somewhat entertaining to work on. If you don't know anything about auto repair or don't want to learn you better have a very good paying job or a sugar daddy. These cars are not cheap to maintain. If you plan on letting a Porsche Shop take care of your maintenance you better just buy a new car. Labor rates on these cars are extremely high and Porsche OEM parts are out of sight.
If you are thinking of buying a 944 you definitely want some documented maintenance history on the car. These models have rubber timing belts and have Zero valve clearance. This means if you break a timing belt the pistons crash into the valves virtually destroying...

Porsche 924
Advantages: Fast and eye-catching
Disadvantages: Restricted visibility - fuel guzzler
...PORSCHE 924
“Go on Dad, spoil yourself.” This was one of my daughters on the occasion of my approaching 65th birthday. I must admit that this beautiful car was one of the possessions I had always aspired to but had never somehow got around to it. My finances would not stretch to a new one and I had spotted a gleaming white model on sale for £9995 (this was way back in 1990). So, my arm was twisted, not requiring much effort, and the deed was done and I said farewell to my faithful Opel Manta GTE.
The 924 was four years old and had covered 68,000 miles, more than average, but was in excellent condition. As Porsche owners will know, the eye-catching characteristics are well known and I had to put up with several good - natured comments such as “You’re getting on a bit to be driving around in a flash car...

Porsche 944 - The cheapest car on the road!
Advantages: Great handling and reasonable running costs
Disadvantages: Can attract unwanted attention
...The extravagant claim in the title is based on the fact that these cars no longer depreciate noticeably, and can be driven on classic insurance. They are also very long lived and generally reliable, and don't do too badly on fuel. Essentially you can run an old Porsche for a fraction of the cost of a new Mondeo!
The text below describes the features, weaknesses, and benefits of the 944 model variations.
First a bit of history. The Porsche 944 was introduced in 1983 based largely on the earlier 924 model. However the 944 included many changes and upgrades compared to the earlier model, the most obvious visual clue being the flared wheel arches to cover the wider track of the new model, the air dam and the rear spolier. Perhaps the biggest change however was in the engine department.
The 924 used a VW derived 2 litre engine, but...

Lacie's hot HDD
Advantages: great design, high capacity, fast
Disadvantages: mains powered
...Just look at it!!! it is stunning. From the moment I took it out of the box and peeled off its protective packing i knew I had bought a winner. At a only slightly superior price to simlar spec drives on a search using kelkoo I saw this and with the recomendation from a friend I bought it.
The look -
Well it is very nice to look at with its sexy alloy body (designed by F.A. Porsche, how cool is that!!!!) is both sophisticated and practical. Thoes little groves on to p allow you to safly stack multiple drives on top of each other safly and neatly and the matal also helps disapate the heat. That means no fan to break or make noise (yey!). I will give you one word of warning - If you intend on traveling with this baby it will scratch it wont look too bad but IT WILL SCRATCH!
The spec -
Whel here it is...

Porsche 924 Lux 1981
Advantages: Looks, Marque, availability of parts.
Disadvantages: Vandals Jealousy!
...The cheapest way to become a Porsche owner. These cars are described as the best designed Porsches as they have perfect 50/50 weight distribution due to the engine, gearbox and diff layout. They are powered by a 2 litre engine which is based on an Audi 100 powerhouse and drives the rear wheels.
There are many myths surrounding these cars - such as they arent real porkers and they are glorified Volkswagens - Not true. VW & Audi approached Porsche to design them a sports car - porsche duely did so and VW / Audi decided they couldnt afford to build it and sold the manufacturing rights back to Porsche who developed it into the 924. The car has many VW/Audi bits on it but this is no bad thing - an example being that porsche electric window switch is around £90 and a VW part is around £15. These costs make quite a bit of difference...

Lacie Desktop Hard Disk 320 GB
Advantages: Does what it says on the tin.
Disadvantages: Disadvantages?!
...During my final year of uni, this little gem turned out to be a Godsend. Doing a course which required a lot of camera work, I needed somewhere to store all the raw footage, which anyone who's ever worked with footage from a high quality video camera knows, takes up a hell of a lot of space.
So I needed somewhere to keep it locked away safely to take around from uni computer to uni computer. My weapon of choice for an external hard drive was the Lacie Desktop Hard Disk 320 GB.
Having brought it online for just under £50, that instantly stuck me as a bargain. Purchased approximately 18 months ago, that was a steal. Naturally, with the passing of time and the increasing availability of external hard drives, the price of this items has began to fall, as is the case with all types of technology.
Once plugged in and inserted into a USB...
