Cusquena Lager

Advantages: Clean Crisp and Refreshing Lager. Different from the normal stuff
Disadvantages: Not widely available and only 4bottles in a pack!

...Cusquena is a lager beer brewed in the mountain city of Cusco high in the Peruvian Andes in South America. It is an imported beer so therefore the beer you buy in the UK is the same beer that you would buy in Peru! None of the rubbish that you drink thinking its the proper drink only to find its brewed by Interbrew or somebody in the UK, this comes from Peru!! A percentage of the money from the sale of this beer goes to help under privilidged children in Peru, so you're doing your bit for charity too!! It has a nice clean taste, really pure and I think its really good. Im always up for trying any new imported beers but guess some people would rather stick to what they know, but trust me this is a very normal tasting lager but better and knowing you're drinkign something from Peru is quite cool!! Its available in Sainsbury's beer section...

A Lager With Some Bite

Advantages: Not bad, not bad at all
Disadvantages: Probably not the best beer in the world

Less carbonation than a pilsener, it has tiny bubbles rising to a reasonable, but not big, head. A hint of malt, and like most pilseners, it has a bit of a metallic smell, although this is not present in the finish. Staropramen Lager

Advantages: tastes great, nice glass
Disadvantages: can be overpriced

...Staropramen is a Czech lager, first brewed in Prague in 1869, but didn't get its brand name registration until 1911. Today, it is the Czech Republics top selling beer and is sold in many countries all over the world. I hear that is very popular in Ireland, sold almost as frequently as Guinness. It is now widely available in many UK pubs and clubs and is reasonably priced too. Right, enough with the introduction, now to the important part of any drink - the taste! At 5% ABV it is mid strength lager and it tastes great. Although its full bodied, Staropramen is smooth and surprisingly light, meaning it is very easy to drink. It also has tremendous thirst quenching potential, so is lovely on a hot day in the beer garden of you're local. Tiger Beer

Advantages: A tasty drop of lager
Disadvantages: None, specifically, that I can pick out

According to the beer's website - www.tigerbeer.co.uk - it takes three weeks to make the beer from it's raw materials, and only ten people know the exact recipe and brewing process - fact or fiction? I'm not sure, but due to it's excellent taste, I honestly wouldn't be surprised!! It also travels around 11,000 km, by boat, from Singapore to Europe, so appreciate all that next time you're drinking one! The gold labels on the bottle's stickers, are offical medals, which include the 1998 Brewing Industry International Award, where Tiger was judged the 'Worlds Best Lager Beer', rather than being titled 'probably' the best, as Carlsberg likes to use as it's title... Banana? Tick! Beer? Tick! Bread?...um

Advantages: Yummy, beer, yum, banana...ooo 1 of your 5 a day!
Disadvantages: um, fattening

...had expected, the flavour left on my tongue is more beer like rather than banana...but then, after a few minutes, if anything, there is a definate flavour of real banana coming through. Strange but true. The whole flavoursome experience is rather favourable. Mouthfeel: The beer doesn't feel to gassy in the mouth, or particularly smooth for that matter. If I had no tastebuds, I would be convinced it feels like a regular lager as somehow the bottle I drank from wasn't very gassy. If anything, the feel is not as sharp as some generic commercial nonsense. Not bad. Conclusion: Well, I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. If this was offered in a pub, I would definitely order one. Having said that, it's by no means my favourite beer in the world and I can't really see myself thinking 'oh I fancy a nice nosh on a banana, oh...

A light beer.

Advantages: Light taste, goes down well, popular

The Best Beer in the World

Advantages: Long session beer, excellent taste
Disadvantages: Expensive

...beer and this was way back in 1992-93. I must say at that time I was quite excited in trying it out since I had heard so much about it. After all it is a very famous beer. It is a dry-hopped beer and has a rich taste. It is a great beer if you want a long drinking session. My initial reaction was that it tasted quite strong. However after a several large sips your taste buds gradually get used to the invasion of hops and the strong taste is replaced with a rich one with a lingering bitter finish. It is an extremely refreshing beer and I find that it goes very well with food, especially with peppery and spicy dishes. Tiger is a Pilsner lager beer and the alcohol content is a moderate 5%. Dishwater or British pride? (Carling Lager)

The beer in Belgium (mainstream beer too) is wonderful, full of rich flavours and has a decent kick to it which is different to many mainstream beers found in the UK. The tin of carling I have chilling in my fridge contains 440ml of 4% vol beer and cost me £1.09.
