...Living only 25 minutes away from Lakeside, since the first day I can remember it?s the only place I would go if I want to go shopping. There are other places which are about 15 minutes from me but they are not as easy to park in, totally sheltered and they do not have such a range of shops. Lakeside, as many of you probably already know is a shopping mall located in Thurruck and it has been around longer than I can remember, the mall itself is located in the middle of a retail park also, making the shopping experience an even bigger one, there is something for everyone here. What is there? The main part of Lakeside is obviously the mall which is filled to the brim with over 250 shops, clothes shops for all ages and styles, furniture, electrical, jewellery, books, everything. Also Lakeside has an eating court for hungry shoppers...

Lakeside what an experience.

Advantages: Got all you could want under one roof.
Disadvantages: Can be difficult to find if unsure of area. Parking a little hard also.

...Lakeside is a great shopping centre based near Dartford in Kent. Just off the M25 lakeside can be found off junction 30/31 and is clearly signposted for those who are new to the centre. Boasting of 320 shops, 4 major department stores, 30 cafes and restaurants, a 7 screen multiplex cinema, a chapel and a 26 acre lake complete with PADI certified diving school complex. There is a neighbouring retail park that has approximately 40 large stores, these being, Toys R Us, Ikea, P.C World and all the other general big superstores that you would expect to find such a park including eateries such as Pizza Land and McDonalds. Lakeside in Thurrock Gets Better Every Year

Advantages: A vast amount of shops to choose from
Disadvantages: None

...Lakeside shopping centre in Thurrock, Essex is a huge shopping mall. It has three floors with a variety of shops. I love coming here and it gets better year after year. What's on Offer? On the top floor there are lots of varied eating places from Chinese to burger king and all kinds of coffee shops. On the second and first floor there are many shops such as W.H. Smiths (book store), Debenhams (multi store), Next (ladies and mens clothes), Top Shop (ladies wear), Top Man (mens), B.H.S. Lakeside Village Outlet Shopping

Advantages: Bargains!
Disadvantages: Very Busy & Tiring

...I first visited this shopping Outlet some 5 years ago when it was more commonly known as 'The Yorkshire Outlet'. Then I lived some 35 miles away but once in a while me and my ex husband would make the pilgramage to Doncaster to see what bargains we could find. (Strangely enough always near to Christmas). Lakeside Hotel - Good Facilities, Poor Rooms

Advantages: Excellent Food, Lovely setting, Good Pool

...The lakeside hotel is set in beautifull lakedistrict on the banks of Lake Windermere. I decided to treat my wife to a 2 night break away. We went for the best room in the hotel hoping for a romantic break. Well it hasnt been the worst £500 ive spent but i must say i was a little dissappointed with the hotel for the money. The Room: The room looked really quite dated and old, i realise this is an old hotel but that should add to the character and charm of your stay. The bedroom was small, had a nice view if you could put up with the draft coming through the windows. The bathroom was a reasonable size but the sunken bath looked as if it hadnt been washed properly for a long time. ...Lakeside is an indoor shopping complex that is located in Thurrock, Essex. To get there by car it is just off the A13 or J1 of the M25. There is ample parking in both a covered car park and an outside one. To get there by public transport you can take a train to Chafford Hundred from London. There are also local bus routes operating. Opening hours are 10am -10pm weekdays, 9am -9pm Saturday and 11am to 5pm on Sunday. The shopping centre itself is split over three floors and has all the main high street shops and there is something for everybody. For clothing that means the likes of Next, New Look, Base, Dorothy Perkins, TopShop, Miss Selfridge, Marks and Spencer, Republic and Primark to name but a few. Perfect for Shopaholics!

Advantages: Lots of shops, spacious, plenty of choice for food!
Disadvantages: Can be a nightmare during peak (do not go in the Jan Sales!)

More like a day trip, than a shopping trip....

Advantages: Lots of shops, plenty of variety, clean
Disadvantages: Need a whole day to get round everything

...'Ouch my feet ache', this was my first comment on returning from a day trip to Lakeside Shopping centre in Thurrock. It had taken me all day to browse my way around the hundreds of shops, and my purse (well debit card really) was feeling considerably lighter. Although many of the shops are the same as can be found on any High Street, the fact that they are all under one roof and the addition of quite a few shops that can't be found locally, mean that Lakeside is the place for me to go for Christmas shopping. ---Getting There Pt 1 (without a car)--- Now I don't have a car, and I live a relatively short distance away from Lakeside (in Basildon). Being car-less means that I have two modes of public transport at my disposal, the bus or train. The C2C service runs half-hourly on the Tilbury line of the Fenchurch Street service...

Fancy a spot of shopping?

Advantages: LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS OF SHOPS
Disadvantages: I've not got enough money

lakeside caravan park

...Ok, its been a long time coming but here is my second review, it took me a whole day to write then I didn't know where to put it so if its in the wrong place I apologise. I have recently bought a touring caravan. (yep I'm now that sad bloke holding you all up on he motor way doing 50 all they way on a hot Sunday afternoon) I have stayed with my friends in their caravan a few times but really wanted one of my own and my wife kept nagging for one so as a Christmas present I bought her one.
