Advantages: durable, practical and versatile

With it being a form of vinyl I have also found it is very much warmer than other products such as laminate. It is suitable for any room including bathrooms and conservatories and it is hygienic as it will not hold dirt and bacteria. We have found that this brand is also durable it has not chipped, splintered or cracked and extremely hard wearing, other products such as wood or laminate(which I have had in the past) can be very noisy whereas Karndean is quiet underfoot and with a 1year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier in the house this is a great advantage. Long lasting laminate flooring

Advantages: Easy to lay, long lasting, looks good, easy to maintain

...OK., before we start.. first thing to note is that Tundra Flooring is a laminate flooring and NOT real wood. Technical details: You can buy them from Ikea and they are ONLY delivered in packs. Each pack weighs 15 kgs and contains 9 planks. You can cover 2.39 sq. mts (25.8 sq.ft) with one pack. Each plank measures 138 cm x 19.3 cm; now you can make an approximate calculation of many planks or packs you would need to cover you floor. You will also get a guide sheet of how to lay the floor. Cost: When we bought the Tundra flooring there was a discount on all laminate flooring from Ikea. Hence, we got it a £15 per pack. B&Q Floormaster Easi Loc laminate flooring

Advantages: Easily available
Disadvantages: Most difficult to fit

...I have just spent most of the weekend with my son fitting B&Q Easi Loc Flooring to a room measuring no more than 15' x 10'. "Easi Loc", what a misnomer! I am very experienced at all aspects of DIY work. I had no hesitation in reccommending Floor master laminate from B&Q having fitted it single handed in my kitchen and hallway 7 years ago. It went down very easily, the boards really did "click" into place, and we are pleased with the appearance and durability, even surviving a minor flood when a sink overflowed. However our experience this time was totally different. The first row was OK, but the successive row were completed only with a great deal of effort. Using the block in the optional fitting kit we had to hammer the boards forward to get a reasonable join without a gap. The boards simply would not fit together properly...

No flaws flooring -laminate style vinyl

Advantages: Really easy to use, looks great

It's called: Westco Timberstyle Self adhesive Plank flooring ( a bit of a mouthful I know!) and, basically is vinyl flooring but with a twist - it looks like laminate! Laminating required

Advantages: so quick and easy to use
Disadvantages: more suited for home than in the work place

...Wow The Laminator has now gone down in price to £9.87 I found the WHSmith A4 Laminator for just £14.99 and because we had basic needs felt this would be efficient enough for the job in hand which it was for a while at least. It is very stylish in looks and nice and compact when placed on the desk. I also bought 50 A4 pouches at the same time also from WHSmith and these cost £7.99 which is really expensive because you can get 250 A4 pouches on the internet for under £5 You do have to be careful because small bubbles often appear but you can prick these with a needle and it is ok. If you wrinkle the laminate then give up and start again. Where I work we change the menu on a monthly basis to ensure in season local food is used as much as possible. By the end of the week the menus are looking tired, crumpled and frayed...

Review of WHSmith A4 Laminator

A must if you have a laminate floor

Advantages: Smell nice, don't dry out
Disadvantages: N/A

...Since having a laminate floor fitted I have tried all sorts of floor wipes.....Flash, Dettox, Tesco's own...but I have been disappointed with the performance and results. I found that I was using 2 or 3 wipes to clean the floor, and found the whole thing quite an effort. I tried Mr Sheen floor wipes basically because they were on offer (what a surprise!) Here's what I thought of them..... The wipes can be used on hard washable floor surfaces, as well as laminate flooring they can be used on lino, tiles or vinyl. They are not suitable for unsealed wood or unglazed tiles - they shouldn't be used on furniture either. Apparently, with continued use they help to protect against scuff marks and black heel marks. Packaging Nothing special to be honest, the usual sort of 'bag' that wipes come in with a flat to stick down after use...

B&Q Floormaster Easi-loc beech laminate flooring

Advantages: Cheap, nice appearance.
Disadvantages: Some boards not cut perfectly straight so tricky to fit.

...Easi-loc by name but not easi-loc by nature! The first two rows went down easily but trouble started on row 3. The problem was that not all the boards are cut entirely straight, which meant it was very difficult for adjacent rows to fit properly (some were very slightly convex and some very slightly concave). Over the whole floor, this caused slight gaps in either the middle or one of the ends to occur, and made it very difficult to get the boards to lock together. Our solution was to find boards whose facing edge would match the previous one (judging by eye). Also a lot of brute force to shove them together! Fortunately, we had bought more boards than needed so we were able to select the best fit for each row. If you buy this product, make sure you buy at least one or two spare packs. All in all, a small room (8 x 11 ft) took two...

Quick step Uniclic Cassic 800 laminate flooring

Advantages: good durable flooring

Lots of choice of different colours they also do an underlay that helps with sound proofing.Its warm and comfortable to walk on Lots of people we knew had bought laminate flooring and raved about it.We got a flooring company to fit it as we did not feel to confident to lay it ourselves. What a difference it has made easy to clean.Just a quick sweep with a brush,then a wipe over with one of the floor damp cloths you can buy in packets.Any spillage is easily wiped up. Its been down just over four years and looks as good as the day it was laid and recently,last month we also had the sittingroom done as well.
