...as we missed lunch so decided to have something to eat in the bar area. We were the first people in but over the course of the evening a few other groups did come in and have a drink before heading to the restaurant for their meals. Apparently it was "Lancashire Night" which meant the staff all wore flat caps. We liked the bar area, the décor was contemporary and we got comfortable on the big brown leather sofas. The menu on offer in the bar was the same as in the restaurant, I decided to have a fish pie and my husband a chicken and mushroom pie. Service and the food was very good, although I thought £11 for a pie was a bit on the steep side. After dinner we retired to our room, it was a bit chilly as the radiator was not working, we called reception and they quickly brought us up a heater and the next day maintenance fixed the one...

A Universal experience

...Yet another stop on my tour of Florida's theme parks with three of my friends was Universal Studios. Universal is linked to Islands of Adventure and we did both parks in one day due to limited time, although I'll review them separately. LOCATION: Universal Studios is in Orlando, Florida. As with most Orlando attractions it is fairly well signposted. You just need to get onto the I4, the main road through Orlando, and it is signposted off this. There is a ridiculous amount of parking available. Make sure you remember which character and which number you are parked in otherwise you'll be searching for that rental car for hours! Each section is named after a Universal character such as Spiderman, the Cat in the Hat and ET. PRICES: This is a theme park in Orlando so don't be expecting a cheap day out! You can buy lots...

...I would not recommended this Uni, and would definitely think twice before spending or going into dept to get a degree from Westminster University. Getting the right degree from a good University these days is very important and Westminster University cannot provide it (again based on my experience). Below some general thoughts after attending business related degree from that University. I have graduated with business degree. Very low level of teaching. I have started similar degree outside the UK, where level of teaching in secondary school could be more intellectually challenging than attending majority of core modules throughout this degree. Review of Westminster University

Law at UCLAN

Advantages: Low grades to get in :D
Disadvantages: Alot of course work!

...My experience of UCLAN wasn't as good as some of the others here, but that's probably because of my choice of course. UCLAN has a good reputation when it comes to Art and Computing, but not when it comes to Science, or my subject, Law. I've just finished my degree, and although it did get easier, the first year especially was very tough. Mainly because there is one lecturer in particular who doesn't let you take notes, you have to sit and listen to him droan on for 2 hours, and it put most the students to sleep. There was also alot more work on my course than at other universitys, I was writing an essay every weak. Not reccomended for party girls....

Last week that book was the Great Universal Spring Summer 08 edition allowing you until the 17th August 2008 to make your purchase. "Spread the cost with affordable payment options," screams the green circle of text on the lower left hand side of the page. Flicking through I am amazed at how expensive catalogue clothes have actually got compared to the same items in the high-street. Never the less I systematically fold over the corners of any page which shows an item I wish to purchase, but my bank balance refuses to allow, something I do with every catalogue, just in case someone else happens to flick through it and wish to buy me something...

...I've been here getting on for around a week now and I must say that I have had an excellent time so far. Before accepting the offer to go Worcester I travelled to it to investigate it and to see if it was for me. After travelling around some of the other universitys that I got into I came to the conclusion that this one was more for me conpared to any of the others. Size ********* I've found that its small which makes it quaint in my eyes and from my opinion however I find a city that is huge can be a little too big and can appear scary and overwhelming at times. Worcesters size is perfect offering up Night Clubs, Food, Shops and culture. ...Lancashire Double Glazing - what a bunch of cowboys!! This is a long story so I'll try to cut it short. To start off with the fitters were 2 hours late and when they arrived thay had lost a window ledge so dissapeared for another 2 hours to try to find it! When the job had been done, upon closer inspection of the windows, there were gaps and chips all over. We contacted the fitters to complain and they said they'd send someone round, which they did after about 4 weeks. He replaced some of the damaged beeding - but it still wasn't right - the window ledge was chipped and there were still gaps. The ever so nice salesman that originally visited us - refused to help although he had promised to get involved if things weren't acceptable. The whole farce went on for about 12 weeks - in the end we moved house - the windown still haven...

Review of Lancashire Double Glazing

A decent university.

Advantages: Nice location, close to town, has almost everything, campus uni, good place in the rankings.Has improved rankings and quality/reputation in a lot of subjects,-esp. sciences.
Disadvantages: Still hasn't got rid of the 'polytechnic' image, guilford locals being a bit 'snobby'

...I didn't particularly enjoy my time there but looking objectively, I can honestly say that it is a decent university. COURSES: Everything is very organised, most of the degree courses are modular and it will be quite easy to follow the syllabus and get yourself ahead and organised if that is how you like to work. I studied Chemistry and over the last few years the facilities and the quality of the course had improved dramatically, it used to be one of the less well off departments, but now it is one of the best, although obviusly, still lagging behind Oxbridge and that of other traditional redbricks. The strongest departments at the uni are probably Music, Psychology, Biosciences, Engineering and Business Studies. Law is not far behind either. UNIVERSAL APPEAL

Advantages: Something for everyone, well organised, clean and tidy
Disadvantages: Not many thrill rides, queues could get very long

...As part of my recent holiday in the USA, I spent a day at Universal Studios Hollywood. I had visited the Florida version of the studios some ten years ago, and although the memories of that trip are somewhat faded by time, I can safely say that the Hollywood studios were superior, due to the fact that they are a working film studio. Situated in LA, in the Hollywood Hills, the studios are not in the area of the city where most of the attractions and theme parks (Disneyland etc.) are situated. This area, Anaheim, is where the majority of tourists may find themselves staying, and Universal is approximately an hour’s drive from here.
