...Did you ever want a computer for basic functions? This is a good buy for surfing the internet, typing word documents and sorting photos. The laptop comes with 8MB of RAM but this can be upgrade easily to over 64MB for a cheap price. The hard drive maybe small but it still runs well. The Pentium 133MHz processor sounds like its slow but it can load program quite quickly in most cases. I have had Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000 and XP installed on this laptop. All work well but Windows XP takes up a lot of space and runs slowly this is not recommended to installed XP on this laptop. The best would be Windows ME it runs fine but however Media Player 7 doesn't not work well on this laptop was it plays music slowly but you can still use Player 6 which is still on ME. ...I was shopping for a notebook in Singapore when a store clerk introduced me to the Sharp PC-A280. I quickly fell in love with this cool silver notebook instantly, and I am still using it now. The notebook itself is a miracle of technology. It is light and thin, and it is reliable. This screen is one of the brightest and most even lit of the notebooks I've used. I upgraded the A-280 to 128 mbs of ram and the A-280 works faster than ever. The keyboard is wonderfully springy and the touchpad is very responsive. The only problem is that the A-280 constantly overheats. Otherwise, it is pratically perfect. I would highly recommened it to any road warrior.... Read review

...This laptop has all the features you need, 802.11g, bluetooth, All built-in and work well. The computer is fast and responsive unlike other laptops. The battery life is excellent (around 3hrs 30 in practice), the widescreen screen is also fantastic for dvd movies which play well in the dvd / cdrw drive. The in-built speakers are good, but i prefer to plug in some quality headphones in the headphone socket. One of the best features is the graphics card which offers many opportunities for connecting to projectors and second monitors quite easily. The laptop is quite thin, but not in the compact range, so if you're looking for a tiny laptop, do not go for this one. ...I think this product is good for its price. A cheap laptop that is useful for minor operations such as surfing the internet or typing up word documents. However, this laptop is not very useful for more complex operations such as gaming or streaming media. A rather short battery life and not a great deal of memory. The hard drive is around average for a laptop of this spec but an external hard drive woud come in useful. My laptop also required a great deal of maintenence after problems with the fan and keys. This laptop is useful for a first time buyer that doesn't want to spend a great deal of money on a laptop and only uses it for simple operations. Useful for college or university work.... Ace laptops by Acer, I have got an acer aspire 5315 laptop with an intel celeron processor, 64MB graphics, 512MB RAM, 15.4'' screen, 80GB hdd, built in wireless and a dvd super multi re-writer drive. It is very well designed when it comes to style with its acer pebble design and it is very dependable. I am very pleased with my laptop and what makes this all way better in my opinion is the price that you can buy acer laptops at. My laptop for example only costs around £300 in the shops and still is good enough to withstand all the stuff i do on it ranging from browsing the web to programming software in visual basic or visual c++ and even has proved itself well capable of playing games well which many computer gamers would never expect of a computer with only 64mb graphics and a proccessor that is not dual or quad as you can now... Advantages: Speed, Power, Performance and Battery Life

...I have had the laptop for over a year now and I have been very impressed with it. The overall built quality is very good, only marred by the tendancy to make slight marks on the silver finished case. The fingerprint reader has been excellent. I can log into the work domain with one finger and log on locally with another - I kid you not. The performance of the laptop has been very good. The Pentium M chip is certainly far better than any previous laptop cpu I have used. The laptop came with a useable 512mb of memory which so far I haven't had the need to upgrade. The graphics provided by the laptop is not the usually onboard affair. The pc is powered by an ATI 9700 Mobility chip.
