...this is a great entry level laptop. great as a second computor, I bought this as a second computer for studying whilst out of the house. with an intel celeron m430 1.7ghz processor, 256mb ddrii ram (upto 128mb shared with the on board graphics) this is not built for performance, it will struggle with programs, games or applications that rely heavily on 3d graphics but for general use it does the job. If bought as a second computer it can be connected to a router via the built in ethernet card or if you have a wireless router the built in railink wireless network interface card makes networking a doddle for beginners and experts alike. if the 13.3" tft screen is a bit small you do have a tv out (s-video) port on the side or a vga out port to connect to another monitor. it also has 3 usb 2.0 ports if you want to add any... ...I was shopping for a notebook in Singapore when a store clerk introduced me to the Sharp PC-A280. I quickly fell in love with this cool silver notebook instantly, and I am still using it now. The notebook itself is a miracle of technology. It is light and thin, and it is reliable. This screen is one of the brightest and most even lit of the notebooks I've used. I upgraded the A-280 to 128 mbs of ram and the A-280 works faster than ever. The keyboard is wonderfully springy and the touchpad is very responsive. This laptop is also designed for small hands, which makes it very easy for children to use, so it's a quite small Laptop with a small keyboard. ...I decided it was about time to get a laptop when Id finally had enough of lugging my huge pc everytime I moved house (which is about every other month!) so I needed something cheap but something good. After a long time searching online I came across this laptop. It has many of the features that the expensive laptops have but at a price I could afford! I bought mine from ebuyer.com for £608.99 inc VAT with £4.99 for p+p. IN GENERAL The preinstalled programs are a great idea for first time users or computer illiterates but I found it slightly annoying having to uninstall their programs so I could install my favourites. Also their printer and camera driver information takes up about 200MB of space and is completely useless as standard drivers are on XP and those that arent come with the printer or camera that you've bought. ...and files, it eventually gets slower and slower, this is just something that happens, so having this extra 2gb of ram available to be installed into the laptop means that if it does start to run slower than you want it to, then you can easily have extra ram installed. A bad thing about this option though, is that it can be costly to do, especially if you cant do it your self and you might have to pay a computer technician to do the work for you. Also a bit of a glitch is that it could, and I do say could, void the warranty, now I am unsure about the warranty of this specific laptop however it usually goes, if you alter any setting of the laptop by unscrewing things inside of it, then usually the warranty goes, as if it no longer works it could be your fault. So this is something to think about and look into before you start altering things... Read review

...I use a laptop rather than a desktop PC at work as I need to move around from site to site. Therefore any laptop I use must offer me the same features of a desktop PC but obviously the additional benefits of a laptop. The HP Compaq nc6120 is a business laptop with a no frills design but all the features you would come to expect for business use. The main areas I consider when purchasing a laptop are, • Features • Battery Life • Cost!! The nc6120 comes in a number of derivatives and prices vary from around £700 to £1,100 depending on what you go for.
