...During my June trip to Gran Canaria I had the "pleasure" of being delayed within the airport for 5 hours which gave me plenty of time to fully note and evaluate all the amenities within it - therefore I feel a bit of an expert on this topic thanks to First Choice! In my vast experience of airports - from little more than a shack on the island of Zante to the posh heights of JFK in America - I'd have to say that for a small island Las Palmas airport isn't half bad! Shopping In Palma Is An Experience

Advantages: Lots to see, interesting sites mixed in with shopping, so you get both
Disadvantages: Easy to get lost in Arab Quarter

We were staying in Palma Nova and being past the age when drinking all day in pubs and clubs, then flaking out on the beach seems a good way to spend a holiday, decided to find some 'civilized' life for a change. There are buses from all round the Island into Palma. The City itself is big. Everything is so spread out in the modern part and we found ourselves walking a long way to find major department stores and designer shops on the main road. Paradise in the Atlantic

Advantages: Peaceful, Relaxing, Magnificent weather, beaches

DIVAS LAS VEGAS BELINDA JONES I have always loved Belinda Jones books, and I have read near enough all of her books: I Love Capri, On The road to Mr Right, The Paradise Room, Out of the Blue, The Love Acadamy, Cafe Tropicana and now Divas Las Vega. The only book of hers I have left to read is The California Club (and the new book which she has coming out soon). I'm not quite sure where Divas Las Vegas comes in the line of her books, it could very possibly be one of, if not, her first book. I loved all of Jones' previous books, they have all been amazing, and have really captured my imagination, this book was very different and I must say, it isn't the best of her work. Las Vegas Opulence

...For me only the Bellagio would do once we had decided to visit Las Vegas as the second stop on our honeymoon just over two years ago. The hotel featured in the Oceans' 11 film which I loved and I was particularly looking forward to seeing that famous water fountain show. The hotel is located roughly half way along the main Strip area in Vegas, it has an Italian theme and is beautiful to look at from the outside. It is set back from the street and the front of the building gently curves around "Lake Como". Providing it is not too windy, from 3pm in the afternoon the fountain show runs every fifteen minutes making for excellent photo opportunities and selling lots of postcards. ...We visted the Hotel Armadams for our honeymoon back in October 2006 for a short break to take in the sights and sounds of Palma. It is situated one "block" away from the main promenade in Palma, a road lined on one side with bars, hotels, shops and the marina and harbour area on the other. I am not a great Spanish speaker, infact I know only the most basic of phrases to muddle through, but the staff were very understanding and very helpful, even though we weren't checking in until really late following a delayed flight. The room was exceptional. Clean crisp tiled floors beautufully airy which really made a good first impression. ...The Voranova hotel was about half an hour from the airport and cost about 25euros, split between two, so wasn't too bad as the hotel transfer coach you could also book cost as much together and took about 2 hours stopping at every hotel that existed! The hotel was in a good location, a few minutes walking distance from Palma Nova town centre and the beach. It was also about 10-15minutes walk to the centre of Magaluf. We got a bus to Palma City one day and this took about 45 minutes and was very crowded. Just across the road from the hotel was a large supermarket and several shops including a pharmacy, there was also a taxi rank and bus stop. ...This summer my girlfriend and I decided to go on a wild holiday. You know, something exotic and Latino. Up until now, we've been going to France for the summer holidays and we got sick of it. Don't get me wrong, the French are nice and so is St. Tropez, but … well, I'm rambling. About Gran Canaria - that's where we went - we stayed at a hotel called Dunas Canteras in Las Palmas. You see, I'm not usually writing on forums and stuff like that but this place was the best I've ever been to, I mean both the resort and the hotel. Especially the town. I've talked to people who went to Playa del Inglès or Maspalomas, other resorts in Gran Canaria. And Las Palmas is much better. Las Vegas - Wow!

Advantages: Vibrant, diverse, unique
Disadvantages: possible to lose all your money very fast

The whole city is built around extremes, extremely rich people, extremely beautiful women, an extremely vibrant atmosphere 24 hours a day, and an extremely large amount of ways to misbehave yourself, but it is definately possible to visit as an interested tourist to enjoy the sights rather than as a gambling hustler or someone intending to marry someone quickly. With the Hoover Dam and world-famous Grand Canyon no more than a coach trip away there are more reasons to visit than the flashing lights. I strongly reccomend everyone should visit Las Vegas at least once, it is truly unique, completely individual, and offers the experience of a lifetime whatever you are looking for in a trip to Nevada....
