Paradise in the Atlantic

Advantages: Peaceful, Relaxing, Magnificent weather, beaches
Disadvantages: A bit overcrowded sometimes

...Las Palmas has always been one of my most favourite short holiday destinations. Situated just of the coast of Morocco, it is located on one of the islands that make up the Canary Islands (Gran Canaria as they are referred to by the Spanish). Las Palmas although closest to Morocco is a territory of Spain. I have visited Las Palmas a total of eight times in the last ten years and my most recent visit was last year in December. I intend to go there again this December. So what attracts me to Las Palmas and why am I not sick and tired of the place that I have frequented eight times already? I was addicted to this place the moment I landed at the airport. The warmth of the air and the coolness of a mild wind is what greeted me when I disembarked from the flight. Unlike other major airports that have these intricate corridors that...

Signs from Las Vegas Past

Advantages: Huge array of signs on show, interesting tour
Disadvantages: Must be booked in advance, pretty strict timetable and agenda

...Las Vegas is a city famous for its lights. It?s also the place where neon probably came of age and certainly from the 1930s onwards if you wanted to see neon being put to good use, Vegas was the place to come. I have oft said this but it?s worth repeating ? Las Vegas isn?t a city which values its past much and as a result things that were icons in a past era no longer exist today. Witness the Dunes Tower or the Desert Inn hotel, both vanished forever. Fortunately some people saw the way the wind was blowing and decided to try to do something about this, and so the Neon Museum was born. The Museum?s aim is to save and preserve some of the iconic signs in Vegas, with many of the restored signs now available to view at any time either on Fremont Street or on Las Vegas Boulevard itself. There is also the Boneyard which is where old...

Having A Ball At Bill's Las Vegas!

Advantages: Cheap, Fab Location
Disadvantages: A little dated, limited facilities

...We stayed at Bill?s Gamblin Hall and Casino on two separate occasions during our recent road trip in America on the recommendation of a fellow reviewer (thanks Rosebud2001!!) and thoroughly enjoyed the excellent value for money and great location that the hotel offers. There is an abundance of rooms available in Las Vegas, so the competition is strong but Bill?s Gamblin Hall well deserves it title as ?Best Strip Deal?. Location, Location, Location The hotel is located at the corner of the East Flamingo Road and Las Vegas Boulevard (otherwise known as ?The Strip?). The entrance, if you are arriving by car, is actually on East flamingo Road to the side of the hotel. It?s immediately on your right as you head down the road so you have to be prepared to turn pretty much straight away. The car park is covered and has CCTV so is...
