DIVAS LAS VEGAS BELINDA JONES I have always loved Belinda Jones books, and I have read near enough all of her books: I Love Capri, On The road to Mr Right, The Paradise Room, Out of the Blue, The Love Acadamy, Cafe Tropicana and now Divas Las Vega. The only book of hers I have left to read is The California Club (and the new book which she has coming out soon). I'm not quite sure where Divas Las Vegas comes in the line of her books, it could very possibly be one of, if not, her first book. I loved all of Jones' previous books, they have all been amazing, and have really captured my imagination, this book was very different and I must say, it isn't the best of her work. Plot: Izzy and Jamie have been best friends since they were little girls, for 20 years. And now at 27 they are still as close as ever...

Las Vegas Opulence

Advantages: Luxurious rooms, dining, fountain show, service
Disadvantages: Check in and general bedm in reception.

...For me only the Bellagio would do once we had decided to visit Las Vegas as the second stop on our honeymoon just over two years ago. The hotel featured in the Oceans' 11 film which I loved and I was particularly looking forward to seeing that famous water fountain show. The hotel is located roughly half way along the main Strip area in Vegas, it has an Italian theme and is beautiful to look at from the outside. It is set back from the street and the front of the building gently curves around "Lake Como". Providing it is not too windy, from 3pm in the afternoon the fountain show runs every fifteen minutes making for excellent photo opportunities and selling lots of postcards. Review of Bellagio, Las Vegas

Las Vegas - Wow!

Advantages: Vibrant, diverse, unique
Disadvantages: possible to lose all your money very fast

...on my share of rides. The whole city is built around extremes, extremely rich people, extremely beautiful women, an extremely vibrant atmosphere 24 hours a day, and an extremely large amount of ways to misbehave yourself, but it is definately possible to visit as an interested tourist to enjoy the sights rather than as a gambling hustler or someone intending to marry someone quickly. With the Hoover Dam and world-famous Grand Canyon no more than a coach trip away there are more reasons to visit than the flashing lights. I strongly reccomend everyone should visit Las Vegas at least once, it is truly unique, completely individual, and offers the experience of a lifetime whatever you are looking for in a trip to Nevada....

  VIVA LAS VEGAS

Advantages: Totally out of this world experience, so much to see and do, great hotels and casinos
Disadvantages: Sleazy in places, a few days isn't long enough to see it all

...Las Vegas is often compared to Blackpool but on a far greater scale - yes there are bright lights and hotels in both resorts the comparison really does stop there. So is Las Vegas all it is cracked up to be? In my opinion nothing could have prepared me for what I saw in my 6 days in Las Vegas - I'd seen all the television programmes raving about it and I'd spoken to many friends and relatives who had been - all spoke very highly of Vegas but all warned us that we wouldn't want more than a couple of days there - I was sure that a fortnight wouldn't be long enough and in my opinion I was right - Las Vegas is so vast that it is impossible to cram everything into a few days - although I did my damned hardest to try!!! The Fantastic, Unforgettable Las Vegas

Advantages: A superb city, with so much to see and do
Disadvantages: A little bit seedy, Casinos not for Under 21's, you can loss loads of cash

...If someone had told me 3 months ago that I?d be spending Christmas in Las Vegas I would have told them they were mad. So when Rachel asked me to go 3 weeks before Christmas to attend their wedding there was no way I could say no. It was a trip I?d never thought of really making and certainly wasn?t high on my destinations list, or at least that?s what I thought. As the trip got the closer and the more I thought about it, the more I actually realised I really wanted to go. We flew out with Virgin Atlantic from Gatwick on the 23rd and some 10 hours and 4 films later arrived at Las Vegas, McCarran airport. It is a long flight to Vegas but taking off the 8 hours time difference meant we arrived at about one local time having left Gatwick at 10.30. We rented a car from Hertz, and 2-night accommodations in Best Western Tuscany hotel in Las Vegas. As always, we visited the tourist information centre before we set off for the day. There, we found some interesting places to visit, maps to obtain etc. For a 3-day visit, we had a great time. Native American Pow-Wow First day out, we followed instructions provided by the guide at the tourist information centre to the closest Pow-Wow near Las Vegas. Viva Las Vegas

Advantages: A wealth of things to do and see and spend your cash on
Disadvantages: It can be seedy

...December 2005 we spent 5 days in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. The true city that never sleeps, anything and everyone goes. It shuns the healthy image portrayed by other US states such as neighbouring California - smoking is the norm - everywhere - it's the done thing to get boozed up and gamble your life away. Vegas is truly and adult playground and not for the faint hearted or for those out to relax and chill - yet l may contradict my self on that last statement as some of the hotels on the strip do have oasis's of peace and relaxation. We booked our trip through Expedia - which was a totally painless experience and we would definitely recommend using them again. We even received an email when we got home, hoping that we had a good time and asking for our recommendations so that they could be passed on to other travellers - good...

Las Vegas: Unseen and Exposed

...I came very late to the TV show "Las Vegas". It never really interested me, I had watched the odd few minutes on Sky when it was on but never managed a whole episode. There are a few TV programmes I watch regularly this was not one of them. Then, one night, unable to sleep, I caught the pilot episode. I have no idea how many times it had been on a quick turnaround repeat since it was first shown on Sky but I enjoyed it a lot. MGM Grand Hotel - Las Vegas

Advantages: 4/5 star, great price, good gambling and atmosphere

...My husband and I have just gotten back from a trip to Las Vegas and chose the MGM hotel to stay at so this forms my review. The MGM is located right on the strip (Las Vegas Boulevard) right by Tropicana Avenue so fairly near one end of the strip. It is located close to the New York New York hotel and there is actually a walkway which joins the two hotels to give you easy access to both. The hotel in its present form was opened at the end of 1993. Most of the hotels in Las Vegas have a certain them that they like to promote through each of their casinos such at NY NY, Paris, The Venetian etc. The MGM in my opinion is not as heavily themed as the other hotels but follows along the lines of old Hollywood/California movies stars etc with the feature of the MGM lion and movie star photos in the bedrooms.
