...For me only the Bellagio would do once we had decided to visit Las Vegas as the second stop on our honeymoon just over two years ago. The hotel featured in the Oceans' 11 film which I loved and I was particularly looking forward to seeing that famous water fountain show. The hotel is located roughly half way along the main Strip area in Vegas, it has an Italian theme and is beautiful to look at from the outside. It is set back from the street and the front of the building gently curves around "Lake Como". Providing it is not too windy, from 3pm in the afternoon the fountain show runs every fifteen minutes making for excellent photo opportunities and selling lots of postcards. Advantages: An OK read
Disadvantages: Dissappointing!!

DIVAS LAS VEGAS BELINDA JONES I have always loved Belinda Jones books, and I have read near enough all of her books: I Love Capri, On The road to Mr Right, The Paradise Room, Out of the Blue, The Love Acadamy, Cafe Tropicana and now Divas Las Vega. The only book of hers I have left to read is The California Club (and the new book which she has coming out soon). I'm not quite sure where Divas Las Vegas comes in the line of her books, it could very possibly be one of, if not, her first book. I loved all of Jones' previous books, they have all been amazing, and have really captured my imagination, this book was very different and I must say, it isn't the best of her work. Plot: Izzy and Jamie have been best friends since they were little girls, for 20 years. And now at 27 they are still as close as ever...

The Fantastic, Unforgettable Las Vegas

Advantages: A superb city, with so much to see and do
Disadvantages: A little bit seedy, Casinos not for Under 21's, you can loss loads of cash

...If someone had told me 3 months ago that I?d be spending Christmas in Las Vegas I would have told them they were mad. So when Rachel asked me to go 3 weeks before Christmas to attend their wedding there was no way I could say no. It was a trip I?d never thought of really making and certainly wasn?t high on my destinations list, or at least that?s what I thought. As the trip got the closer and the more I thought about it, the more I actually realised I really wanted to go. We flew out with Virgin Atlantic from Gatwick on the 23rd and some 10 hours and 4 films later arrived at Las Vegas, McCarran airport. It is a long flight to Vegas but taking off the 8 hours time difference meant we arrived at about one local time having left Gatwick at 10.30. Review of Las Vegas

  VIVA LAS VEGAS

Advantages: Totally out of this world experience, so much to see and do, great hotels and casinos
Disadvantages: Sleazy in places, a few days isn't long enough to see it all

Unusually for America, rest rooms, (toilets), are few and far between en route from LA to Las Vegas and it makes sense to stop if you do see a rest stop as it will probably be a long way before you seen the next stop and with only Joshua Trees to shield you from other motorists there isn't really anywhere private to hide!!! We could actually start to see Las Vegas quite clearly when we were still half an hour or so away, the buildings are so tall that they can be seen for miles. My first thoughts when we arrived on the strip were WOW - I was lost for words, (something that rarely happens, as my husband would happily back me up on)!!! I was just in awe of the spectacular hotels and couldn't wait to get checked in to our hotel so that I could get unpacked and go out and about. The tour was conducted at several different locations of the dam, so there was quite a bit of walking around. We were educated on the turbines, the outer walls, the intake towers as well as the history of the river that started in Colorado and ending in Los Angeles. It was all very interesting and educating. Parking was available for a fee of $5.00 and the guided tour cost us $10 per person. Facilities were available both inside and outside the visitor centre. There was a funny story about these at the dam. There are at least two pillars on the dam. And instead of leaving these spaces to waste, the engineers decided to make toilets out of them! ...December 2005 we spent 5 days in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. The true city that never sleeps, anything and everyone goes. It shuns the healthy image portrayed by other US states such as neighbouring California - smoking is the norm - everywhere - it's the done thing to get boozed up and gamble your life away. Vegas is truly and adult playground and not for the faint hearted or for those out to relax and chill - yet l may contradict my self on that last statement as some of the hotels on the strip do have oasis's of peace and relaxation. We booked our trip through Expedia - which was a totally painless experience and we would definitely recommend using them again. We even received an email when we got home, hoping that we had a good time and asking for our recommendations so that they could be passed on to other travellers - good...

Las Vegas - Wow!

Advantages: Vibrant, diverse, unique
Disadvantages: possible to lose all your money very fast

...on my share of rides. The whole city is built around extremes, extremely rich people, extremely beautiful women, an extremely vibrant atmosphere 24 hours a day, and an extremely large amount of ways to misbehave yourself, but it is definately possible to visit as an interested tourist to enjoy the sights rather than as a gambling hustler or someone intending to marry someone quickly. With the Hoover Dam and world-famous Grand Canyon no more than a coach trip away there are more reasons to visit than the flashing lights. I strongly reccomend everyone should visit Las Vegas at least once, it is truly unique, completely individual, and offers the experience of a lifetime whatever you are looking for in a trip to Nevada....

MGM Grand Hotel - Las Vegas

Advantages: 4/5 star, great price, good gambling and atmosphere

...My husband and I have just gotten back from a trip to Las Vegas and chose the MGM hotel to stay at so this forms my review. The MGM is located right on the strip (Las Vegas Boulevard) right by Tropicana Avenue so fairly near one end of the strip. It is located close to the New York New York hotel and there is actually a walkway which joins the two hotels to give you easy access to both. The hotel in its present form was opened at the end of 1993. Most of the hotels in Las Vegas have a certain them that they like to promote through each of their casinos such at NY NY, Paris, The Venetian etc. The MGM in my opinion is not as heavily themed as the other hotels but follows along the lines of old Hollywood/California movies stars etc with the feature of the MGM lion and movie star photos in the bedrooms. Sky TV are currently showing Season three on Sky One on Friday nights (as well as quick turn-around repeats during the week). I love watching the episodes, not necessarily in the correct order and remember the time when I was walking up and down the Strip, gambling away my holiday money - actually I won more than I lost - always hoping to win big like some of the characters in the show and get all the complimentary treats they were given in the show. If you think it's easy to get comps in Vegas you are mistaken, unless you are a high- roller with money to burn you will not receive much in form of comps. But...
