Northern Quarter for the Northern Birds

Advantages: Stunning apartments, very clean, good price, very central
Disadvantages: Nothing!

...I love Manchester, and used to go quite regularly. Unfortunately money is tight so I don't get as many nights out down there as I used. When I do get down, I like to make the most of it. Last time I was in Manchester, we stayed at The Northern Quarter Apartments. The Northern Quarter The Northern Quarter of Manchester consists of High Street and the 'original Northern Quarter' on Oldham Street, which is slightly North of the Arndale Centre and Piccadilly Gardens in the centre of Manchester. There are loads of funky little boutique shops, which are amazing for vintage clothes. There are plenty of coffee shops ( the one next to Pop is quite relaxed and cool) and small sandwiches shops and eateries. The nightlife in the Northern Quarter includes bars like Dry Bar which used to be owned by New Order, the "modern burlesque" club Mint...

The Best Quarter of Manchester

Advantages: Every wacky thing you will possibly ever need will be found here
Disadvantages: Known to be rough, but isn't at all!

...The Northern Quarter is possibly the best bit of Manchester that I can think of. It is the most colourful, most creative area, and it's inspiring and happy just to wander around in. Latin? She Must Be Joking!

Advantages: It's helpful and very satisfying.
Disadvantages: You must study grammar.

The Best of British - 'Black Boots on Latin Feet'

...Ezio are one of the best understated British talents of our time and it really is a shame that they dont have a massive following. They have been performing since 1990 in the university town of Cambridge. The band took their name from one of the band members Ezio Lunedei. Black Boots on Latin Feet is their second (but Debut) album (produced by Rupert Hine in 1995). Although the album is new, the band have a mature vibe with lyrics that are honest and reflective (songs like '30 and confused' really struck a chord with me, accurately reflecting the experience of this significant age). The album is refreshingly different to almost all other British bands and is the perfect counter-act to the Brit Pop scene of the time that was aimed at a much younger market. As these snacks come in a small bag there are ideal for lunchboxes; the combination of a small packet and the fact that the snacks are baked rather than fried means that they have considerably fewer calories and a smaller fat content than most crisps; in each bag there are 72kcal and 4.3g of fat (0.3g of which = saturates), whereas many bags of crisps can contain over 200 calories and around 15g of fat.
