Or just someone with a thirst for knowledge? Then you will find this book indispensable. It is comprehensive, but not too large and as well as containing hundreds of concise definitions of many legal terms, there is also a very useful appendix of abbreviations and also a directory of online legal resources, too. A Must Have For Any Law Student

Advantages: Indispensable; easy to use; has addititional information included; cheap price
Disadvantages: You can use the Internet to locate definitions, but the dictionary is more reliable

...ready for the new term, but it was whilst I was browsing through stationary in 'Paperchase' that I came across 'The Oxford Dictionary of Law'. For some reason, I had never owned one of these - and now, I couldn't live without it. The dictionary was half-price, and at just £6, was a complete bargain. WHERE CAN I PURCHASE IT? You can by 'The Oxford Dictionary of Law' from most major bookstores, and also websites such as 'Amazon', 'eBay', etc. I bought mine from 'Paperchase', and it happened to be on sale at half-price, costing me a very cheap £6. A lot of students worry about how much money they have to spend on legal textbooks, and 'skip over' many of the recommended helpful aids. LLB Law

Advantages: Very helpful staff when you have done some reading...
Disadvantages: if you haven't started your research, they are not going to bail you out!

...So Im in the middle of doing my Law degree full time at DeMontfort University. Well what can you expect? The Teaching style~ consists of lectures, seminars and tutorials. The lecturer normally always sits or stands at the front of the group regardless of what teaching method is being used. It is advisable for any of these types of classes to do the work ( whether set prior to the lecture or in advance of a lecture) as to help you with your revision and also to save you the embarrassment of getting things wrong infront of lots of people!!!! Lectures- the lecturer talks and you listen, preferably write notes and use a dictafone where possible- helps you when it comes to writting up your notes. You can ask questions and helps if you have done some reading in preparation for you lecture on a particular topic. Lecturer's do ask...

The Hendon Campus & Law.

Advantages: Excellent learning facilities

Since the last person wrote a review on Law at Middlesex University (2000), a lot has changed. I am in my final year, studying in Hendon & looking forward to graduation.. argh finally! Unfortunately, my experience of this University has not been entirely positive. To say the least, it was disappointing. I transferred from UEA to be nearer to my hometown. The LLB Law programme at UEA

Advantages: Lovely campus, high teaching standards, good reputation
Disadvantages: Norwich is a bit far out...

...Well, before transferring to Middlesex University to do Law from the start again, I spent a year at East Anglia(UEA). This is obviously only a very short period of time so my review will probably lack some detail, but hopefully you will still find it fairly useful. The area This is a single campus University, based in Norwich, East Anglia. I moved from Reading (near London) & found the driving distance to be around 3 to 4 hours, or train from Liverpool St generally taking 2 hours, no comment on Reading to London as this varies dramatically anyway. The train journey is quite comfortable though. Norwich is a fairly small city, but not without its fair share of things to do. Advantages: Excellent performance by Gerard Butler, great cinematography.

Advantages: Good fun for kids.

Review of The Tomorrow People - One Law - 4:1 (DVD)

No mum it's not a petrol station, it's the Holiday Inn Oxford.

Advantages: Great Price. Good location for roads. Next to park and ride, cheaper than paying for parking!
Disadvantages: Another Holiday Inn, nothing that unique about it. Surly reception staff.

...August sees the birthday of my mother, an annual event that our family comes together to celebrate in one way or another. We have had a rather turbulent year so my brother and I felt it was necessary to take my mother and father away for a birthday celebration as a family. After a good trawl of the internet we decided to visit Oxford. As my brother has two young children it was necessary to consider a family room, ideally with some facilities to keep the children entertained, so we found ourselves at Holiday Inn Oxford.
