...I recently began to use a ?Cordon Bleu? slow cooker to cook meat while I am out of the house at work. This was a Christmas present from a business associate a couple of years back, but had lain in my attic ever since, still in the box and gathering dust. While rummaging around for the Christmas decorations, I happened across it, brought it down, and decided to give it a try. The first good point is its simplicity. You simply add water, any stock or vegetables that you wish to use, pop in your meat, and turn on the electricity. It can be left to simmer away in safety for the whole day, and does not boil dry because of the well sealed lid. The results are amazing. Not Cordon bleu But It Is Fine.

Advantages: Very good for a reasonably priced meal.
Disadvantages: Nothing major.

...place to sit. BUT...Why does the decked area seem to be used as rubbish bin and an ashtray ? I like a cigarette but I also prefer to stub it out in an ashtray and would try to avoid just throwing it on the floor and trampling on it. More often than not the decked area is dirty, messy and untidy and it seems to be getting worse. Maybe more strategically placed ashtrays and waste bins might be a good idea. Apart from my one gripe I am more than happy with my local Table Table restaurant and will hopefully continue to enjoy it in the future. The cloakroom facilities are clean and are obviously inspected regularly. If you are looking for a Cordon Bleu menu then a Table Table restaurant will not be your first port of call but on the other hand if you are looking for a respectable place to enjoy a friendly and relaxed everyday meal then...

It's no slow cooker....

Advantages: versitile and time saving

...either put them on low or cook them for a shorter time. ------------------- In my humble opinion:- My Cordon Bleu slow cooker has earnt it's money ten times over.I work hard and have a family of five to keep fed and I save so much time by being able to just throw the ingredients in "the pot".The food that is cooked in it is very very tender due to the slow long cooking process and smells and tastes delicious. It also provides me with a large oven dish when the need arises for conventional oven cooking. In the winter when it is a big cold rush to get three children to different schools early in the morning, I can at least serve them some nutritous hot porridge straight from the slow cooker(all prepared the night before)in less time than it takes to open a box of cerial !!! And that makes me a popular Mom too...

Forget the manual just throw it in

Advantages: Cooking without the hassle
Disadvantages: If you come home early you can't cook it quicker

...My wife and I were given the Cordon Bleu Slow Cooker as a gift to aid our hectic lives. As most people do, my wife studied the receipies in the manual and paid particular attention to the pre heating instructions and cooking times. We tried several receipes and the results were very tasty. The only concern was the amount of time it took to prepare things in the morning. The general recommendation when using slow cookers is to pre heat the crock pot and any sauces that are made from powder rather than cook in sauces. If chicken is the main ingredient cooking time is recommended to be a lot longer for obvious reasons etc etc. My daughter was the salvation of the slow cooker when she pointed out that all she does is chop the veg the night before and throw the meat in the next morning before making the gravy mix with boiling water...
