SUPER LEEDS UNITED
Advantages: LEEDS LEEDS LEEDS
Disadvantages: none at all
...one of George Graham?s last signings as manager of Leeds. That was probably the best thing that he has ever done for us. He was bought cheap from Crystal Palace and soon took a place in the hearts of every Leeds fan in the nation with the cries of 'England?s Number 1' often being heard from the stands.

With a capacity of over 40,000 and lots of shops inside Eland Road is one of the top 5 in the country. For those of you who don't know, Elland Road is the home ground of Leeds United AFC.
Peter Risdale, Our Chairman, has announced plans to build a new stadium with a bigger capacity that is able to fit in all of the mighty Whites fans.
In the meantime though Leeds are still at the ever-spectacular Elland Road. Although it may not be as big as Old Trafford of St. James Park...

Leeds United's Champions League Campaign 2000.01
Advantages: Getting to the semi finals
Disadvantages: None!! - it was that good
....
On a rainy Wednesady night Elland Road (the home of Leeds United) invited AC Milan. Leeds left it late but in the 89th minute Lee Bowyer struck the ball 30 yards out and it slipped into the bottom corner of the net!! Leeds United 1-0 AC Milan
Leeds were hoping to repeat their herorics of AC Milan against Beskitas at Elland Road. The match started off brightly with a goal after 5 minutes. Then the goals just flowed with them coming from all directions from Viduka, Bakke, Matteo and Wilcox. The match ended up 6-0 to Leeds united and proved yet another memorable night in the Champions League.
The next two matches were both draws with a 0-0 draw with Beskitas in Turkey and back at Elland Road a 1-1 draw with Barcelona. Leeds were seconds away from qualifying to the next group with a game spare but seconds from the end - after Lee Bowyers strike...

Leeds, Trails.
Advantages: Great players.
Disadvantages: Consistancy
...On paper the current Leeds Utd squad is one of the best sides in the Premiership, certainly good enough to qualify for some kind of European competition next term.
Unfortunately football is a game played on grass, not on paper. Sorry for such a corny cliche to start with but it is true.
David O'Leary has stamped his own style on the side as manager, since taking over from George Graham almost 2 years ago. Spending £18M on the young but talented Rio Ferdinand has made him a well known figure in the game but will this prove to be the signing which loses him his job?
It is true that £18M is a lot for any player, especially a central defender but there are good reasons why he has been brought in. O'Leary has often mentioned he wants to play the rather ambitious 5-3-2 formation using wing backs with 3 central defenders. Now he...

Leeds United Tour
Advantages: Interesting
Disadvantages: No players for the kids
...We had a 90 minute - obviously a time footballers can work to - tour of the Leeds United ground at Elland road Leeds. We were greeted and shepherded into the press enclosure to hear the history of the Leeds stadium, the problems with the grass, and saw trophies of the Revie heyday and the Leeds past, together with the evolvement of the stadium a t the moment. My son sat in the dugout, saw the changing rooms, and Mr O?leary?s hot seat. We were warmly treated and generally had a good time. Elland road was easy to find and parking was not a problem. We also enjoyed browsing round the souvenir shop....

Leeds have the foundations
Advantages: quality squad, class players in key positions
Disadvantages: will the schedule take its toll again on the young players?
...midfield (why wasnt he with England in Euro 2000?) and players like Lucas Radebe and Jonathan Woodgate in a defence backed up by a keeper like Nigel Martyn - Leeds have the foundations for success over the next few years...

Leeding the field
Advantages: Squad packed with talent
Disadvantages: Need maybe 2 more seasons to develop
...Leeds United are one of the most exciting teams in English football at the moment - they have achieved some great things already this season and I really hope that they will go on to achieve even greater things. A fantastic performance by young Paul Robinson between the goalposts, stepping into the breach for the crocked Nigel Martyn, has done the club no harm at all, and has earned him international recognition.
Bringing in Rio Ferdinand is also a great signing - Mark Viduka has answered critics with a good start to his career especially when he banged in 4 great goals against Newcastle. Robbie Keane is also one of the most exciting prospects in English football at the moment. Add these big names to the talented Johnathan Woodgate and Alan Smith, the great Harry Kewell, young Stephen McPhail who is another one to watch in the coming...

TO LEEDS OR NOT TO LEEDS
Advantages: In each game that they play in the Champions League they are classed as the underdogs,i believe that gives them the mental edge
Disadvantages: Young and naive, and thats about it
...How much longer can these lucky, lucky Leeds lads hold on in the champions league,i mean come on,were talking about the cream of the crop in european football, the top earners in the world....and then Leeds. No offence Yorkshire folk but i am so sure that in there next game or in the final(well there in the semis so i suppose anything is possible)Leeds United are going to get stuffed.
Ok,yes,im a bitter man,yes i know that,i mean come on im a Spurs fan,so im aloud to be synical, thats all thats gone on down at The Lane in recent years.
But no way can Leeds United be in the semi final of the Champions League, thats just amazing, they(Leeds)have already beaten the top teams(ie Lazio,Deportivo La Curuna,PSV)and they do seem to be on fire......but surly there luck is to run out sooner or later.Mind you im a true English man and i am proud that...

Leeds, Champions of Europe
Advantages: Young talent and good team spirit
Disadvantages: Are currently slipping from the table
...Dear readers,
Any Fan of Leeds United will know that Leeds is one of the best teams in the premierships. I think they will finish in the top 3 and will reach the second phase of the champions league and probably beyond. With such young talents, it is easy to see why Leeds united will soon become champions of Europe (Anyone who watched Leeds vs 1860 will know what iam talking about). David O'Leary has invested well in these people and i commend him for that. I will just like to say, go Leeds win the trophies for us....

A shop not to buy trainers or football boots from
Advantages: Cheap, Big selection and ranges
Disadvantages: Tests Patience, Staff not helpful
...Soccer is a shop that tests your patience to the core but it has a huge selection and range but you have to hope they have them in your sizes. The best time to go in is early in the morning when it won't be that busy then you may be able to get served....

Lovely Leeds
Advantages: Lots to see and do
Disadvantages: The weather can be disappointing
...Kirkstall, across the road from Kirkstall Abbey. Abbey House has been set up to look at life in Victorian Leeds. It's a small museum with a Victorian street, that has a variety of shop fronts and shops to enter. It has other galleries looking at toys and games, and dealing with issues such as Victorian attitudes to weddings and mortality.
Armley Mills (Leeds Industrial Museum): £3.00
Based in Armley (just a couple of miles from the city centre, easily accessible by bus), on the site of Gotts Mill - one of the largest Victorian textile mills in the country. This museum, as the name suggests, deals with the industrial history of Leeds. In recent years, as with many places, Leeds has lost much of it's former industrial glory, but this museum offers a look at a variety of different aspects of the past. There is a small cinema and gallery...
