...OK. I'll be honest with you from the start. I'm a bloke in my late 20's, into martial arts, beer and Nine Inch Nails (the band, not the things you buy at the ironmongers). So what was I doing watching what any self respecting male could only refer to as a chick-flick? well, you see, I have a wife... ...Yes, she made me watch this film, and I may never, ever forgive her... Don't get me wrong, I'm not against the chick-flick as a genre! ...disappointing when you think about it, but equally it makes you proud to be a Brit. Having said that there?s some funny moments, I?m afraid that they are just that, literally moments where you might smirk if you forget yourself ? imagine paying out good money to see something like this in the cinema ? you?d be so bloody pissed off it?s not true. Ah well, it?s summer, this is a good time American movie set in the summer, where the sun always shines and your buttocks clench embarrassingly together as Witherspoon offers more of her trite one liners and simpering homilies ? would you want her defending you on a murder charge? This Blonde is Legal... and I can Prove it!

Advantages: Direction, Witherspoon, funny
Disadvantages: Basically still a one-joke movie (albeit a good one!)

...I saw Legally Blonde at the cinema when it was first released in the UK. I now own it on DVD, and it is definitely one of my favourite films. The movie is about Elle Woods (played by Reese Witherspoon) and her quest to win back the love of her life, Warner (Matthew Davis). The journey sees Elle going to Harvard Law School, a far cry from her sorority house in LA, and she goes from being the most popular to dumb blonde overnight, and she has to fight hard to fit in at Harvard, and keep abreast of her studies. The film is lighthearted and funny, and features excellent performances by Reese Witherspoon, Selma Blair and Luke Wilson. ...I have just been to watch legally blonde at the cinema (yes I know I go and see allot of films at the cinema) this film was pretty bland but still good and was one of the best teenage comedies I have seen I ages. The main plot is that a girl called Elle woods is going out with her boyfriend whom she wants to marry and just when she thinks he is going to propose he dumps her. He says that he needs to go out with a successful woman. She finds out that he is going to go to Harvard law school she decides to go and win him back so she gets the score that she needs to get to get in to the school and she makes and admissions tape which is really funny (you have to see it to believe it) and she goes to law school leaving her degree in fashion behind.
