...Continuing on my quest to review all things Christmassy, here I am with Advent review number 2. So with my deepest apologies to all those bah humbuggers out there, may I invite you back to Beckie's grotto. Why don't you pull up a chair, help yourself to a glass of warm mulled wine, and a mince pie (Marks and Spencers with a dusting of icing sugar to make them look homemade). This year, as always, my children have been well and truly spoilt by their Grandparents. In a departure from traditional or even chocolate Advent calendars they have both been given rather posh Advent calendars. Shortie has a Playmobil one, and big brother "Small Fry" (aged 7 and a half!) has a Lego Advent calendar. When I was little I always had an Advent calendar to count down the days to Christmas, but mine were cardboard and had little pictures of robins...

...I would just like to write a review on the benefits and/ or the downfalls of Lego, something that even at the age of 26 I do still enjoy playing with with my brother's four children - any comments, you will get a slap! Lego are those small little bricks that no doubt will have played a part in the life of any child, at some point during their early lives. It is something that has been around for many years, as my two older brothers (being 36 and 38) both also used to play with it themselves along with their own friends - in fact, most of mine was hand downs from them! There are many different bricks used in Lego, from rectangular bricks through to doors; windows; wheels, and even the bases on which to build your masterpieces on too have shown at the Tate Modern! In my opinion, Lego is an excellent way of encouraging a child...

Advantages: Great learing and never goes out of fashion

...Lego Lego Lego, I love it. When I was a child it was the only thing I would ever play with. I owned a big box of it and I would dissaper into my bedroom for hours making houses to play pretend, I would see how high I could build a tower up the wall, make cars and casltes. This never failed to amuse me. my son has never been the building type so I never bought him any he would much prefer to be destructive. So when I met my current partner it was great his son loved lego it made it so much easier for me and him to relate to each other too we would spend hours building things and using our imagination. Lego has come along since I was a little girl they now make real looking cars, star wars figures, Indian Jones and much more. ...The Lego creator box 6161 is a great starter, or continuation box. At the Lego shop http://shop.lego.com/Product/?p=6161 this toy costs £9.91. I suspect in the Amazon add they have got the wrong picture and number of the box with the price 19.99 the bigger box number 6166 costs 19.99p, The Lego comes in a sturdy deep rectangular blue box with a lid. I know from experience what an advantage it is to have a good sturdy box to keep Lego in. It keeps all the Lego together in one place. Keeps Lego away tidily. The card boxes break fairly easily. Much easier to have a big tub for your child to put all the Lego pieces in. Remember do encorage your child to pick them all up they are painful to stand on with bare feet. ARE BATMAN VILLAINS LEGO BRICKING IT?

...I would like to state at the beginning of this review, that I will not go into each individual stage of the game, and give you all the secrets as this would spoil your enjoyment of the game, but will give you an overview which will hopefully help you enjoy the game.
