Lenovo 3000 N100 - Core Duo T2400 1.83 GHz

Advantages: High Spec, Powerful, Comfortable to use, System management
Disadvantages: Small touch pad, poor mouse buttons, poor sound from speakers

...'t try to watch a good movie unless you're using headphones or plugged into an external speaker system. Connectivity - The Laptop I am using has a built in 56k modem, wifi enabled, bluetooth, ethernet connection and firewire. There is a button to disable the wireless connections (wifi and Bluetooth). The CD tray is actually a double layer DVD burner, maybe a little overkill for a laptop in my opinion, but handy to have I suppose. Now, from what I gather, this laptop has a 1.8Ghz Intel Core Duo processor, 512Mb ram, A GE Force graphics card and an 80 Gb hard drive. I have to say I have played a couple of games including FIFA07, Deer Hunter and Settlers 2 and they've ran well, very well. I don't sopend a lit of time playing games though so can't give a good review of the graphics card. I'm currently working on some web stuff that...

Apple MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.5 GHz - 17" TFT

Advantages: nice screen, good battery life, fast specs
Disadvantages: large size (price?)

...Apple mac-books, where to start... ok, so to start, it is an apple, that means you get a solid quality product and on the whole very good customer are. this particualar apple is deffinatly more suited to being a media center than other laptops. At first glance you realise that it is a fairly large laptop, this allows for a big screen, which being an apple ffers clear vivid displays, unfortunatly the big screen increases the overal size and also uses more battery, however, the 4.5 hour yattery is still very good for an entertainment laptop. The laptops technical specs include a very fast 2.5 ghz dual core proccesor which is very fast, the dual core allows it to tackle multiple tasks quicly as well as increasing the overall speed of the laptop. The price is quite steep however, but i believe, if given the money, it is...

Lenovo

Advantages: Built in webcam. fingerprint recognition that works, good customer support.
Disadvantages: Slightly sluggish compared to some higher end machines.

...I own a Lenovo 3000 N100 and use it daily for personal use. I also use a Dell Latitude D620 for work, but I will try not to compare them too much to each other in this review. I acquired the Lenovo after my previous Laptop (a Medion) died and couldn't be resurrected by the Insurance company - so I didn't actually go out and buy this one specifically. In actual fact, it is much better than my Medion, although this may be due to the passage of time and better technology. Technical Bits: The laptop has a Core Duo processor (I think mine is 1.7Ghz not 1.83 as listed in the header). It has 512MB RAM, a DVD writer, fingerprint recognition and a nifty web cam in the lid. It has built in Wifi which works well. It has 4 USB ports, although annoyingly these are on the side - I prefer them at the back (especially fr the mouse). It also...

These CPU's are well suited to Gaming applications due to their calculation proccess and their Overclockability, This CPU will run all modern games and future games with ease! providing great FPS Rates and great gaming enjoyment, speeds of 3.6Ghz + can be achieved easily on stock cooling. With after-market cooling much higher clock speeds can be achieved. This CPU is very stable and reliable even when overclocked. I was originally hooked on AMD CPU's and was adament that they provided better gaming performance, However after i finaly took the leap to see what all the fuss was about with the Intel C2D CPU's i have never looked back, These CPU's far out...

People ?s main complaint with Apple is that their products are way too expensive, and that having a Mac is far inferior to a PC- but this is mainly down to the fact that they were poorly powered yet...

Core 2 Duo E8500

Advantages: Very Fast, good overclocker
Disadvantages: Possible Temperature problem, E8400 is worth a look at

...The Core 2 Duo E8500 is an extremely fast processor for the LGA 775 socket. At a stock speed of 3.16 Ghz, it is already fast enough to accomedate most user's need, but if people want to push it further, then thats not a problem for this. I bought the processor at the beginning of last year, and what a great purchase it was. After updating my Bios on the motherboard to support the 45nm processor, it was set and ready to go. After a while though I decided to try and overclock it, and was amazed at how well it did it. I managed to get it 4Ghz + stable with just a simple after market cooler. Overclocking is no problem for this, aslong as you have to motherboard and cooling to match. When I bought this there was a big debate between the E8400 and E8500, and all it comes down to is .5 of a multiplyer. E8400 is...

Apple MacBook Core 2 Duo 13.3" - I'm a convert

Advantages: Stylish, flexible, super fast startup
Disadvantages: Pricey compared to a PC

...has a few nice features, like url shortening and picture display. 4. Music (Spotify) Obviously iTunes features quite heavily on the Mac OS platform. And, with the iPhone, you need it to sync and for app download, which is fine, but only works for music you already own. That's where Spotify comes in; Spotify gives you free access to the music you don't own. It's like having a radio where you're the DJ. 5. Fonts Gotta have fonts. In fact, gotta have loads of fonts. The Mac comes with over 100, covering the main requirements. But now I've extended that a little to include some of the more funky ones. I'll leave it to you to search for them yourself. 6. HTML Editor (Smultron) I've been using EditPlus for years now, it's a great little editor. Unfortunately EditPlus is a Windows only app, so I needed an equivalent. The EditPlus Wiki...

Diamond review  Introducing core 2 duo at the lowest price

Advantages: Greatest value and performance at the lowest price, highly overclockable
Disadvantages: Only 1MB L2 shared cache, performance hit in games

...; ▀ ▀ First was the great Core 2 Duo E6000 family. The first Intel Core 2 Duo processor cores, code-named Conroe were launched on July 27, 2006 at Fragapalooza, a yearly gaming event in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. These processors are built on a 65 nm process and are intended for desktops, replacing the Pentium 4 and Pentium D. All Conroe processors are manufactured with 4 MB L2 cache; however, for marketing purposes, the E6300 and E6400 versions based on this core have half their cache disabled, leaving them with only 2 MB of usable L2 cache. These processors had great performance and after a long period Intel had again the performance crown in the processors market, beating AMD's Athlon X2 in the majority of benchmarks. The E4000 family (Allendale core) was launched after few months with the main role to compete...

Apple Mac Mini Core Duo..

Advantages: Small but powerful, its a great starter apple,
Disadvantages: Limited scope for upgrade,

...My friends always said to me that I should get an apple computer, but stubbornly I always resisted as I thought I should stick to what I know. That was until I used an apple mac. This mini core duo is an inexpensive way to get onto the apple ladder, and you wont be disappointed. Straight out of the box, it looks very stylish and would compliment any home cinema or music system. For such a small unit, the apple packs quite a punch, with ports such as USB and ethernet, wi-fi and bluetooth, as well as a remote control, the apple wont leave you wanting. Whats more, one of the most positive things about apples is that most of the inside is made by apple, unlike in PC's where everything is thrown together and hoped that it works. Apple seems to just work like a PC doesn't. It's not perfect though. The sheer size of it...
