The Sims 2 DVD-ROM
Advantages: Only 1 disc, loads of features
Disadvantages: Can be slow
...I have been a fan of the Sims for many years now, but only recently recently the Sims 2 for Christmas. When I opened it up, I noticed that it said DVD-Rom. At this point I panicked, thinking that I wouldn't be able to use it. Luckily, my computer has a DVD-ROM drive. The only difference between the normal CD-ROM version and the DVD-ROM, Is that the DVD-ROM only has one disc, making installation easier and quicker.
Installation
As I said, because the game is held on one disc only, you don't have to sit waiting for the computer to tell you top put in 'disc 2' or disc 3' etc. This means that you can leave the computer to happily go about its business of installing, whilst you go and watch the telly. As with most games, you can choose where to install the game. To keep you occupied during the installation (if there's noting on TV...

Lenovo
Advantages: Built in webcam. fingerprint recognition that works, good customer support.
Disadvantages: Slightly sluggish compared to some higher end machines.
...I own a Lenovo 3000 N100 and use it daily for personal use. I also use a Dell Latitude D620 for work, but I will try not to compare them too much to each other in this review.
I acquired the Lenovo after my previous Laptop (a Medion) died and couldn't be resurrected by the Insurance company - so I didn't actually go out and buy this one specifically. In actual fact, it is much better than my Medion, although this may be due to the passage of time and better technology.
Technical Bits:
The laptop has a Core Duo processor (I think mine is 1.7Ghz not 1.83 as listed in the header). It has 512MB RAM, a DVD writer, fingerprint recognition and a nifty web cam in the lid. It has built in Wifi which works well. It has 4 USB ports, although annoyingly these are on the side - I prefer them at the back (especially fr the mouse). It also...

Driving Test Success All Tests - Driving home for christmas...
Advantages: Helps you practice for your tests
Disadvantages: None that I know of!
...I am actually writing a review on the 2008/2009 DVD although it will have the same features as the previous version.
When I first started my driving lessons I thought it would be wise to invest in some kind of guide like this as it could cut down on lessons, at £18 an hour any extra knowledge would certainly help!
So off I headed to amazon, I was spoilt for choice but this seemed to be one of the more popular discs and seemed to be really helpful so I thought I'd give it a try.
I bought it for around £7.80 from new, although prices change all the time and you may even be able to get it cheaper than that, especially if you bought a pre owned copy.
The disc is divided in to three sections. Theory test, Hazard Perception test and Practical test.
~Theory test~
This dvd really is the best choice when it comes to...

Extremely Over Priced PC
Advantages: The case dosn't look too bad
Disadvantages: Addequate but outdated CPU
...significantly lower than Lenovo is 3Ghz upwards. Quite how the ThinkCentre A55 hopes to even try to compete with other manufacturers offering 3-4Ghz CPU's with a price tag of around £50 less is somewhat of a mystery. Having said that, as my mate has proven with flying colours.."there is one born every minute"
The memory installed is on a par with most budget PC's and is supplied with 512Mb DDR II SDRAM. Thankfully memory these days is a relatively cheap upgrade option.
The hard drive installed again is somewhat below acceptable for the price tag. The A55 is supplied with an 80Gb hard drive. Although this size of drive is acceptable, for £400 you would expect something around 100 -120Gb in size.
The graphics card is on-board as is the norm with all budget PC's. The graphics memory is shared with the PC's RAM and is adjustable via the PC...

THINK REALLY
Advantages: very good processor with unique vast features.
Disadvantages: the flat screen looks too fragile.
...Well I have to come with the review of PC computer. Lenevo think center is a brand of computer that never made waves in the computer market. But I decided to give it a try by buying it and wanted to get rid of the popular dell, IBM and apple computers for some time.
Well the lenovo think center computer has proved to be a bit different. Some features actually made me to purchase the product and are features like the administrator password, power on password, booting without mouse and key board, hard drive I/O control, usb control, serial port I/O control, boss Sequence control and diskette I/O control. These are the features that really made me to splash at about £250.60 on it.
The lenovo thinkcentre A55 9265 Pentium D 915 2.8 GHz computer has host of unique think vantage technologies at competitive price.
The processor...

Lenovo IdeaPad review
Advantages: good performance
Disadvantages: somthing bad
...I have used an Lenovo IdeaPad for my favorite laptop which is used to blog my blogs.
when I was about looking for the new and good laptop to replace my old computer,I was surprised by its thin and light body and beautiful design ,and it costs about 500 pounds .
It is made by a big company which I love and trust,so there is no problem about hard ware .And the battery life seems lasting about 4 or 5 hours in normal situation,it depends on the energy mode. I should appreciate the new energy star options for its brillant function.
It has a very nice design for its users. As I know, when you buy this new stuff, you will see that It has loaded the Microsoft Office already in a trial period ,I personally think it take you about some time to observe the performance before you have to buy it,but at least you don't have to load the microsoft...

ibm does good again
Advantages: ibms past record
Disadvantages: poor choice of graphics port
...I've got one of these, in fact I'm writing this review on it right now. I bought it for £200 at my local auctions 2 years ago (14th Feb 2007 to be exact) & I'm still getting great use out of it. It looks sleek with its all black case, keyboard & mouse.
It's really easy to do upgrades on as it requires no tools to open the case or remove any parts. I upgraded the dvd-rom in mine to a rewriter & it took minutes to do & was as quick to get running & burning with.
It might not have a super high powered graphics card but the on-board chip handles games pretty well. I've been able to play both Quake 4 & Half Life 2 at fairly decent speeds.
The port to fit a graphics card is a slightly annoying issue as it's intended for a standard PCI card & I was expecting to find an AGP port but I guess thats the price you pay for buying what was only...

Pass! Or Your Money Back
Advantages: Fantastic software
Disadvantages: Nothing wrong with it
...I knew that when my birthday came around that I would want to drive as soon as possible, so brought this DVD quite early on in the year. About once I week I went through it, slowly learning different signs and information about driving.
As my birthday came around I booked my test and began to revise as much as I could. I've never been one for exams, as I was always slightly rebellious and never liked revising as I didn't see the point as the more I revised the worse I seemed to do.
Before I get to more of my experience I'll explain a little about the DVD.
The DVD-ROM
The DVD features everything from the theory test to even a advice centre where you can get essential information. Here's some of the stuff found on this PC DVD-ROM.
The DVD's first part is the Theory Test. Every time I talk about this to my Nan, I...

great, fast drive good looking, a little noisy
Advantages: fast, looks great, multiregion capable
Disadvantages: a little noisy, not brilliantly priced at the moment
...I decided that it was time I got something to play DVD's on. As im from the UK , but dont mind ordering DVD's from the USA I thought id make sure I got a good multiregion drive. This drive has multiregion firmware avalible on the net, so you can flash upgrade it to be able to play any DVD in the world. It's a fairly simple, painless process and only needs to be done once.
The actual drive is very fast, Its more than capable of playing anything the software decoder can handle. Its a bit noisy, this is probably because although the slot has hairs covering it it dosent block all the air / noise as well as a piece of plastic would. This isnt a reall problem, and the drive spins down to a much quieter rate fairly quickly. Ihave had no problems at all with this drive and would definatly recomend it. You might however want to cosider wether...

How To Pass Your Drving Test.....
Advantages: Helpful , Easy To Use once you know how
Disadvantages: None
...learner drivers must pass before taking their practical tests. I had bought an "AA" learners pack months before my 17th birthday. This included two books (Theory and Highway code) and two 'L' plates. I'd had a flick through of the books on more than one occasion , however they just didn't appeal to me and I couldn't be bothered to learn the whole 949 answers to the 949 questions just by reading. I felt I needed more of a challenge ; and that is where Driving Test Success came in.
It was my driving instructor who told me to buy one as it had all the official questions and answers as well as being able to take 'practise exams' of the theory. I thought this was a good idea , so after my driving lesson , I logged on to the internet and searched a few websites. I came across this dvd on play.com for a price of £7.99 - Not bad I thought , but I...
