The Sims 2 DVD-ROM

Advantages: Only 1 disc, loads of features
Disadvantages: Can be slow

...I have been a fan of the Sims for many years now, but only recently recently the Sims 2 for Christmas. When I opened it up, I noticed that it said DVD-Rom. At this point I panicked, thinking that I wouldn't be able to use it. Luckily, my computer has a DVD-ROM drive. The only difference between the normal CD-ROM version and the DVD-ROM, Is that the DVD-ROM only has one disc, making installation easier and quicker. Installation As I said, because the game is held on one disc only, you don't have to sit waiting for the computer to tell you top put in 'disc 2' or disc 3' etc. This means that you can leave the computer to happily go about its business of installing, whilst you go and watch the telly. Advantages: Built in webcam. fingerprint recognition that works, good customer support.
Disadvantages: Slightly sluggish compared to some higher end machines.

...I own a Lenovo 3000 N100 and use it daily for personal use. I also use a Dell Latitude D620 for work, but I will try not to compare them too much to each other in this review. I acquired the Lenovo after my previous Laptop (a Medion) died and couldn't be resurrected by the Insurance company - so I didn't actually go out and buy this one specifically. In actual fact, it is much better than my Medion, although this may be due to the passage of time and better technology. When I first started my driving lessons I thought it would be wise to invest in some kind of guide like this as it could cut down on lessons, at £18 an hour any extra knowledge would certainly help! Extremely Over Priced PC

Advantages: The case dosn't look too bad
Disadvantages: Addequate but outdated CPU

Quite how the ThinkCentre A55 hopes to even try to compete with other manufacturers offering 3-4Ghz CPU's with a price tag of around £50 less is somewhat of a mystery. Having said that, as my mate has proven with flying colours.."there is one born every minute" The memory installed is on a par with most budget PC's and is supplied with 512Mb DDR II SDRAM. Thankfully memory these days is a relatively cheap upgrade option. The hard drive installed again is somewhat below acceptable for the price tag. The A55 is supplied with an 80Gb hard drive. Although this size of drive is acceptable, for £400 you would expect something around 100 -120Gb in size. The graphics card is on-board as is the norm with all budget PC's. ...I have used an Lenovo IdeaPad for my favorite laptop which is used to blog my blogs. when I was about looking for the new and good laptop to replace my old computer,I was surprised by its thin and light body and beautiful design ,and it costs about 500 pounds . It is made by a big company which I love and trust,so there is no problem about hard ware .And the battery life seems lasting about 4 or 5 hours in normal situation,it depends on the energy mode. I should appreciate the new energy star options for its brillant function. ...I've got one of these, in fact I'm writing this review on it right now. I bought it for £200 at my local auctions 2 years ago (14th Feb 2007 to be exact) & I'm still getting great use out of it. It looks sleek with its all black case, keyboard & mouse. It's really easy to do upgrades on as it requires no tools to open the case or remove any parts. I upgraded the dvd-rom in mine to a rewriter & it took minutes to do & was as quick to get running & burning with. It might not have a super high powered graphics card but the on-board chip handles games pretty well. I've been able to play both Quake 4 & Half Life 2 at fairly decent speeds. The port to fit a graphics card is a slightly annoying issue as it's intended for a standard PCI card & I was expecting to find an AGP port but I guess thats the price you pay for buying what was only...

...I decided that it was time I got something to play DVD's on. As im from the UK , but dont mind ordering DVD's from the USA I thought id make sure I got a good multiregion drive. This drive has multiregion firmware avalible on the net, so you can flash upgrade it to be able to play any DVD in the world. It's a fairly simple, painless process and only needs to be done once. The actual drive is very fast, Its more than capable of playing anything the software decoder can handle. Its a bit noisy, this is probably because although the slot has hairs covering it it dosent block all the air / noise as well as a piece of plastic would. This isnt a reall problem, and the drive spins down to a much quieter rate fairly quickly. Ihave had no problems at all with this drive and would definatly recomend it.
