Lenovo R61I is amazing!
Advantages: This comes with bluetooth, 1GB per sec. wifi card, and cd dvd r&rw drive.
Disadvantages: The power management center goofs up some, The internal coolant system could use work.
...I used to have tons of problems with computers, big surprise! I have tried all of the major brands like Compaq, Acer, Dell, E-Machine, HP, etc. These have all been desktops. After shopping around I found the best deal I could possibly find. The Lenovo R61I, It had all the features I could think of that I would ever need with a price I could afford! My only concern was the performance that it could have. I figured with all the features there had to be some draw back. I powered up the display and begun running random applications individually and several at a time. There was a split second lag however nothing to be worried about. I have had a few problems with this but all of my problems I had with this machine equal up to less than 1% of the problems I had with my other computers. In the rare event that you do have a problem you can just...

Lenova ThinkPad R61i 7650 Review
Advantages: Easy to use, runs smoothly, good battery life and high quality.
Disadvantages: Some probelms with the wireless adapter.
...I have owned several different ThinkPad's over the years. I have enjoyed them all and found them to be extremely useful and reliable. I knew that I wanted a decent quality portable laptop that would be suitable for all the basics.
I have been using the laptop mainly for office related items such as documents and spreadsheets but have also been using it to store and edit photographs and videos. So far I have had no problems and that fact that it comes with a media card reader was very useful.
This version of the ThinkPad is pretty similar to the rest of the laptops in the series. There is little to no distortion with the screen and it is fairly bright and gives a high quality picture. I couldn't find any problems with the laptop as a whole, nothing is loose or flex's for the most part.
The R61 has pretty much all the ports...

Lenovo Z61m
Advantages: Good for media work, WideScreen quality Graphics.
Disadvantages: Lenovo suck... totally.... This computer can only be used in air-conditioning.
...because of the heat problems. I find when not in my lap I have to "stand on its side" to allow the heat to radiate properly as it cannot be left on normal everyday surfaces in its normal position unless in air-conditioning, where it works quite well.
The microphone is very very poor .. veering on defective and recordings made are abysmal even when a good quality mike is plugged in.
The batteries on this range of computers were largely faulty however only a number were subject to a recall. I acquired my z61m from a batch-buy of these machines along with other colleagues. Amongst all of us only two have original batteries which are still operational. The Lenovo site's recall service is based on the serial number of the batteries. Although we all had the same computer (and presumably batteries) only some of us managed to avail...

Lenovo ThinkPad R60e
Advantages: easy to use, long battery life
Disadvantages: no mouse touchpad, slow due to security software
...found harddrive space no problem at all- I store music and work and photos on it, but very few and short videos, and haven't installed many games. The 512Mb RAM is possibly a little low- Lenovo automatically install software that regularly reminds you to back up your hard drive and defragment, etc- which is good, as it means you are more likely to do so, which is good for your machine, however bad as it obviously slows down the machine further. At startup, therefore, the machine is rather slow, however speeds up once everything has registered and the computer has sorted itself out.
Another useful thing with this laptop is a little light that you can switch on so that you can see your keyboard in the dark, if that is something you would need.
As with all laptops, this one has it's own allocation of function keys on the keyboard...

Lenovo T61 with Linux
Advantages: High quality notebook
Disadvantages: Higher price
...I tried new Lenovo T61 with configuration:
Intel Core 2 Duo 2GHz
1GB RAM
nVidia Quadro 140M
100GB 7200RPM disc
14.1" wide screen 1440x900px
Webcamera, fingerprint reader
Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN
6 cell battery
New thinkpad is traditionally whole black. It is very well built as usual. Nothing screapes and the keyboard is nice acurrate.Titan-Magnesium
hardeness was improved by hardening back part of chassis. The only thing where is the influence of Lenovo on IBM shown are the connectors for reproductors and microphone.
They were placed in front of laptop what is not so handsome.
After few hours of initial testing i revealed a small bug - it is impossible to change the backlight intensity for the display.
I tried to run a Linux system so i have to write some hints:
The graphics card works well with the newest...

Good performance, Pig awful looks!!
Advantages: Fast and reliable
Disadvantages: Screen could be better, not the best design
...I have had my laptop now for just over a month and I am now ready to report on my findings.
I will say at the start that this was supplied to me from my insurance company, rather than by choice. I was assured that it was a like for like replacement for my Toshiba. (evidently in the world of insurance Toshiba and Lenovo are spelt the same?). Needless to say the chances of me renewing my policy with them are somewhere between sweet FA and Nil.
However rant and rage over with here are my opinions and observations of the R61 thinkpad.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
-------------------------------
When I first opened the box, my first impression was "Oh my god!, it's come from the Lada car factory. The design has all the finesse of a 1980's house brick mobile phone. Although I had seen the Lenovo name around, I had not linked it to the IBM brand...

is this a stinkpad or a good laptop?
Advantages: Battery life, Wide screen
Disadvantages: To heavy, really difficult to build from scratch.
...lighter for carrying around
Conclusions
This is a good laptop for a work environment. However I feel that for a home situation you can get better from other suppliers. The machine battery life is a a very good selling point and the wide screen makes looking at a machine to do your work a little bit easier.
However the weight of this laptop spoils the machine to me. Also from my IT support perspective Trying to build a machine is a lot harder then other models of machine.
Overall, I would probably avoid this model of machine. Simply because I know that a newer model of IBM laptops is available (R400) which is far lighter and does not seem to give the DVD drive problems.
Thanks for reading...

cant fault it
Advantages: great technology and support
Disadvantages: none
...I love IBM and Lenovo. I think they build the best computers in the world (pc based, I have no intention of getting into the PC/Mac debate right now)
Built around the powerful Intel Centrino Duo this laptop is fantastic value for money. You can get it for between £300-£400 on the web.
Having had an earlier model for several years with no issues whatsoever, I was very sad when it died due to an unfortunate incident with a pint of water.
I was going to get the same machine again but decided to go for this one instead.
As with all the Thinkpad range it is built to last. although some people have issues with the blocky design I think that this is one of the best features, Lenovo/IBM make no attempt at (for want of a better word) tarting it up, why should they. the solid design and construction makes this a very strong, long lasting...

Think Smart, ThinkPad
Advantages: many unique features, robust, trustworthy
Disadvantages: more expensive than some brands
...I bought this laptop on insurance, as my previous ThinkPad was stolen and I loved it so much that I couldn't bear to buy a different brand.
In my opinion, the Lenovo ThinkPad is the best laptop you could possibly buy for all-round performance, reliability, and features, but I will endeavour to make this review as unbiased as possible, and I will split it into different sections for easy reading.
LOOKS/DESIGN
We all know looks do matter, and the ThinkPad is nothing if not distinctive in design.
Unusually amongst modern laptops, the ThinkPad does not have sleek silver curves everywhere. Instead, it is a matt black cuboid, with a nice texture. Some people may not prefer this, as I have been told "It looks like it's from the 80s", but the understatedness of the design is much less showy than most modern laptops, suggesting there is...

The Legend of Thinkpad
Advantages: Build Quility, Thinkpad Features, Good Performance.
Disadvantages: Not flashy, slightly heavy/bulky
...I have so far been using this notebook for around 4 months. Here are my experiences:
Speed- I use this computer for word processing, internet-surfing, email, music, and running an eBay business. I find this laptop to be more than adequate for these tasks. If running Windows XP/Vista make sure you keep your drive defragmented- this helps a lot.
Look+Feel- This is, of course, what makes thinkpads legendary. The keyboard is simply the best I have ever used. It strikes the perfect balance between clunky and too light. High quality plastic is used throughout, as you would expect, and the screen has plenty of protection behind it. Ways to navigate include both a touchpad and trackpoint, although I would recommend a mouse for long periods of use.
Capacity- The 120GB is more than enough for my needs, although users with huge, lossless...
