The Acer labtop taking the market by storm
Review of Acer Aspire 5684WLMi - Core 2 Duo T5600 1.83 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
nathnathnath
Advantages: Excellent Nividia graphics
Disadvantages: Very light, easily breakable
...This new labtop out by acer is excellent. It has state of the art gameplay with nividia graphics which make it excellent. Surprisingly it is the closest graphics have ever come to reality and i love it. It operates very fast making it one of the fastest computers i have ever expierienced.
It has an excellent installed dvd player which brings home the cinema expierience right into the palm of your hands. Its a widescreen labtop, therefore, providing a lot more space for the desktop. It also has the standard Windows XP compnents allowing you to have the microsoft expierience. It is very slimline indeed and can slip right into your bag, rucksack or briefcase. It is ideal for not only businessmen nut for school children and university students as well. The labtop comes with a load of space and very high ram. It also has a intel Core 2 dual...

Lenovo 3000 N100 - Core Duo T2400 1.83 GHz
Review of Lenovo 3000 N100 0768 - Core Duo T2400 1.83 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
clivefallon
Advantages: High Spec, Powerful, Comfortable to use, System management
Disadvantages: Small touch pad, poor mouse buttons, poor sound from speakers
...to watch a good movie unless you're using headphones or plugged into an external speaker system.
Connectivity - The Laptop I am using has a built in 56k modem, wifi enabled, bluetooth, ethernet connection and firewire. There is a button to disable the wireless connections (wifi and Bluetooth).
The CD tray is actually a double layer DVD burner, maybe a little overkill for a laptop in my opinion, but handy to have I suppose.
Now, from what I gather, this laptop has a 1.8Ghz Intel Core Duo processor, 512Mb ram, A GE Force graphics card and an 80 Gb hard drive. I have to say I have played a couple of games including FIFA07, Deer Hunter and Settlers 2 and they've ran well, very well. I don't sopend a lit of time playing games though so can't give a good review of the graphics card. I'm currently working on some web stuff that uses Mysql...

The Legend of Thinkpad
Review of Lenovo ThinkPad R60 9456 - Core 2 Duo T5500 1.66 GHz - 15" TFT by
josh.walker
Advantages: Build Quility, Thinkpad Features, Good Performance.
Disadvantages: Not flashy, slightly heavy/bulky
...I have so far been using this notebook for around 4 months. Here are my experiences:
Speed- I use this computer for word processing, internet-surfing, email, music, and running an eBay business. I find this laptop to be more than adequate for these tasks. If running Windows XP/Vista make sure you keep your drive defragmented- this helps a lot.
Look+Feel- This is, of course, what makes thinkpads legendary. The keyboard is simply the best I have ever used. It strikes the perfect balance between clunky and too light. High quality plastic is used throughout, as you would expect, and the screen has plenty of protection behind it. Ways to navigate include both a touchpad and trackpoint, although I would recommend a mouse for long periods of use.
Capacity- The 120GB is more than enough for my needs, although users with huge, lossless audio...

Lenovo ThinkPad R60e
Review of Lenovo ThinkPad R60e 0657 - Core 2 Duo T5500 1.66 GHz - 15" TFT by
nollybabe
Advantages: easy to use, long battery life
Disadvantages: no mouse touchpad, slow due to security software
...harddrive space no problem at all- I store music and work and photos on it, but very few and short videos, and haven't installed many games. The 512Mb RAM is possibly a little low- Lenovo automatically install software that regularly reminds you to back up your hard drive and defragment, etc- which is good, as it means you are more likely to do so, which is good for your machine, however bad as it obviously slows down the machine further. At startup, therefore, the machine is rather slow, however speeds up once everything has registered and the computer has sorted itself out.
Another useful thing with this laptop is a little light that you can switch on so that you can see your keyboard in the dark, if that is something you would need.
As with all laptops, this one has it's own allocation of function keys on the keyboard, however, again...

hp compaq nx6310 review
Review of HP Compaq Business Notebook nx6310 - Core 2 Duo T5600 1.83 GHz - 15" TFT by
kirtan91
Advantages: core duo processor, quick startup
Disadvantages: unbelievably square screen, thick and heavy
...Since my brother bought it in september i have used it a lot so...
The shape of the screen is retarded, its too square, it needs to be more wide and the screen quality is less than hoped for a laptop which is quite new.
It is fast though which is good since its a laptop and its core duo processor is brand new on the market so it is capable of doing quite a few things at once and does not freeze.
It is prone to freezing on the internet, and when you try to close the browser it doesnt respond (ctrl+alt+del) doesnt help either so you have to turn it off manually.
The cd/dvd drive is up to standard and is fast. You can also burn data cd's and movies because the laptop comes with a program which can make movies.
It doesnt have a memory card slot so that isnt very good for a new laptop, but it does have a laptop card slot.
The battery...

Sony Vaio AR12M Mobile Media center
Review of Sony VAIO AR21M - Core 2 Duo T5600 1.83 GHz - 17" TFT by
Chris745
Advantages: Powerful, Massive screen, Dual core, Fantastic media center,
Disadvantages: Large form factor, low battery life
...The first thing to strike me about the AR21M was the sheer size of the thing, immediately I began to have doubts as to how portable this system would be. I was pleasantly surprised however to find that despit its size it really wasnt too heavy. Size aside how does this machine perform? Well the beast is powered by an Intel core 2 duo CPU at 1.83Ghz, with 1GB of DDR2 RAM and a GeForce 7600 graphics card so should be able to cope with just about anything you throw at it., and BOY DOES IT!! As an avid gamer (When I get time at least) I was Eager to try a couple of the latest titles on it and had no trouble at all playing MOTW II, Oblivion and Mark of Chaos at top resolutions with all the features on, the system did get quite warm but I invested in a notebook cooler for around £20 which the vaio sits on top of and is kept ice cold by...

Great Laptop
Review of Toshiba Satellite Pro A120-146 - Core 2 Duo T5600 1.83 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
nekoneko
Advantages: Robust, powerfull, portable and looks great
Disadvantages: Battery life isn't as long as advertised. 2 1/2 hours max
...Well i finally bit the bullet and dived into the mine feild that is the laptop market. After much research i opted to go with this laptop from Toshiba.
I brought mine from dabs for £610 (inc vat) which i think is a good deal. Well i was in for a suprise when it came i set it up (very easy) and started to put it through its paces by running RAM and prossesor hungry music production and graphics programs. The laptop is super speedy and had absolutely no problem even in the most demanding tasks. The hard drive is big enough for most people and there is enough preinstalled RAM to get by too.
The Laptop looks great is quiet, very quiet and doesn't get too hot. The screen is fantastic especially for watching DVDs and browsing the net. Comes with built in wifi reciever which has picked up loads of networks, much better than most i've tried...

A True Mobile Workstation Notebook
Review of Lenovo ThinkPad T61p 6457 - Core 2 Duo T7800 2.6 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
vurso
Advantages: Subtle Design, Performance, Display Quality & Graphics Power
Disadvantages: Design may not suit everyone's taste
...and settings and still able to play the more demanding Supreme Commander.
The resolution is something you either love or hate, set native at 1920x1200 on a 15.4" screen it can either be an eyesore or a god send (thankfully for me it's the latter). Howvever the screens scales really well and you can drop down to the more easier to use wide screen resolutions without any loss of quality.
I specced my laptop up with 4gb memory, a 200GB Sata Drive, DVD RW Writer, Intel Wireless/Bluetooth Add-On, 1GB Intel Turbo Memory and the Intel T7800 2.6Ghz Core 2 Duo cpu which is blisteringly fast at everything I throw at it.
The design as I mentioned is not to everyone's taste but I love it, understated in the black chassis it speaks volumes i.e it's designed to work hard, not just look good sitting on your dining table....

great working laptop
Review of Acer TravelMate 5624WSMi - Core 2 Duo T5600 1.83 GHz - 17" TFT by
punker123
Advantages: fast, good memory
Disadvantages: portability
...The Acer Travelmate 5624WSMi has a massive 160gb hard drive making sure you can store all the data you need for all your multimedia needs.
this acer travelmate was designed specifically with the buisness porson in mind, who needs a super fast piece of equiptment, lots of storage and womthing easy to work with.
this had a Intel Core 2 Duo processor and a great 2gb of ram to make this laptop glide as smoothly as possible. the ram can also be upgraded to 4gb for those demanding users.
this laptop has a great 17\" TFT active matrix screen which gives you great imadges and sharp graphics due to its active matrix technology.
some good features of this acer are its 1.3 mega pixcel intergrated camera with 225 degree rotation to make sure your always in the picture. and also this laptop has a built in 5 in 1 card reader making transfrerring...

Lenovo
Review of Lenovo 3000 N100 0768 - Core Duo T2400 1.83 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
Honest.John
Advantages: Built in webcam. fingerprint recognition that works, good customer support.
Disadvantages: Slightly sluggish compared to some higher end machines.
...I own a Lenovo 3000 N100 and use it daily for personal use. I also use a Dell Latitude D620 for work, but I will try not to compare them too much to each other in this review.
I acquired the Lenovo after my previous Laptop (a Medion) died and couldn't be resurrected by the Insurance company - so I didn't actually go out and buy this one specifically. In actual fact, it is much better than my Medion, although this may be due to the passage of time and better technology.
Technical Bits:
The laptop has a Core Duo processor (I think mine is 1.7Ghz not 1.83 as listed in the header). It has 512MB RAM, a DVD writer, fingerprint recognition and a nifty web cam in the lid. It has built in Wifi which works well. It has 4 USB ports, although annoyingly these are on the side - I prefer them at the back (especially fr the mouse). It also has...
