Lenovo T61 with Linux
Review of Lenovo T61 by
hauran
Advantages: High quality notebook
Disadvantages: Higher price
...I tried new Lenovo T61 with configuration:
Intel Core 2 Duo 2GHz
1GB RAM
nVidia Quadro 140M
100GB 7200RPM disc
14.1" wide screen 1440x900px
Webcamera, fingerprint reader
Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN
6 cell battery
New thinkpad is traditionally whole black. It is very well built as usual. Nothing screapes and the keyboard is nice acurrate.Titan-Magnesium
hardeness was improved by hardening back part of chassis. The only thing where is the influence of Lenovo on IBM shown are the connectors for reproductors and microphone.
They were placed in front of laptop what is not so handsome.
After few hours of initial testing i revealed a small bug - it is impossible to change the backlight intensity for the display.
I tried to run a Linux system so i have to write some hints:
The graphics card works well with the newest drivers from nvidia...

Mobile King
Review of Intel Core 2 Duo T7600 / 2.33 GHz processor ( mobile ) by
safari004
Advantages: Fast, Efficient
Disadvantages: None I can notice
...I recently bought a laptop containing Intel Core 2 Duo T7600. My experience with it was just fun. The laptop is very fast at every thing.
This processor is based on the latest micro architecture from Intel. It has several very advanced features. Some are discussed below.
The processor has a Front Side Bus of 667, which is impressive for laptops.
The processor has a speed of 2.33 GHz, which makes it one of the fastest mobile processor. This proceesor performs extremly well in processor demanding applications.
This processor has got a 4 MB cache. This helps to bost its performance alot. The unified cache for both the cores of the processor makes it perform very well in single threaded applications.
Its dual core, so, it can handle multi threaded applications with eas.
Its power consumption is very phenomenal. It is rated at a 34 W...

The Legend of Thinkpad
Review of Lenovo ThinkPad R60 9456 - Core 2 Duo T5500 1.66 GHz - 15" TFT by
josh.walker
Advantages: Build Quility, Thinkpad Features, Good Performance.
Disadvantages: Not flashy, slightly heavy/bulky
...I have so far been using this notebook for around 4 months. Here are my experiences:
Speed- I use this computer for word processing, internet-surfing, email, music, and running an eBay business. I find this laptop to be more than adequate for these tasks. If running Windows XP/Vista make sure you keep your drive defragmented- this helps a lot.
Look+Feel- This is, of course, what makes thinkpads legendary. The keyboard is simply the best I have ever used. It strikes the perfect balance between clunky and too light. High quality plastic is used throughout, as you would expect, and the screen has plenty of protection behind it. Ways to navigate include both a touchpad and trackpoint, although I would recommend a mouse for long periods of use.
Capacity- The 120GB is more than enough for my needs, although users with huge, lossless audio...

Lenovo ThinkPad R60e
Review of Lenovo ThinkPad R60e 0657 - Core 2 Duo T5500 1.66 GHz - 15" TFT by
nollybabe
Advantages: easy to use, long battery life
Disadvantages: no mouse touchpad, slow due to security software
...harddrive space no problem at all- I store music and work and photos on it, but very few and short videos, and haven't installed many games. The 512Mb RAM is possibly a little low- Lenovo automatically install software that regularly reminds you to back up your hard drive and defragment, etc- which is good, as it means you are more likely to do so, which is good for your machine, however bad as it obviously slows down the machine further. At startup, therefore, the machine is rather slow, however speeds up once everything has registered and the computer has sorted itself out.
Another useful thing with this laptop is a little light that you can switch on so that you can see your keyboard in the dark, if that is something you would need.
As with all laptops, this one has it's own allocation of function keys on the keyboard, however, again...

Good performance, Pig awful looks!!
Review of Lenovo ThinkPad R61 7732 - Core 2 Duo T7100 1.8 GHz - 14.1" TFT by
cindyhigham
Advantages: Fast and reliable
Disadvantages: Screen could be better, not the best design
...as soon as you look the laptop, it is instantly recognisable as an IBM Thinkpad. Sadly though not in a good way, The keyboard and general layout do look very dated.
The only plus point here is that it does seem to be very well built and sturdy enough to take the odd few knocks and scrapes.
SPECIFICATIONS
--------------------------
Thankfully the performance of the laptop is far better than the design for which I will elaborate further.
Processor
************
This is an Intel T7100 dual core (or core 2 duo to give it the correct title) which is rated at 1.8Ghz for each core.In essence this gives you the equivalent to a 3.6Ghz single core processor The processor uses 64bit technology, FSB @ 667Mhz and L2 cache of 2MB.
In layman's terms, it is very fast and more importantly stable. When running several applications simultaneously, the laptop...

Lenovo 3000 N100 - Core Duo T2400 1.83 GHz
Review of Lenovo 3000 N100 0768 - Core Duo T2400 1.83 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
clivefallon
Advantages: High Spec, Powerful, Comfortable to use, System management
Disadvantages: Small touch pad, poor mouse buttons, poor sound from speakers
...to watch a good movie unless you're using headphones or plugged into an external speaker system.
Connectivity - The Laptop I am using has a built in 56k modem, wifi enabled, bluetooth, ethernet connection and firewire. There is a button to disable the wireless connections (wifi and Bluetooth).
The CD tray is actually a double layer DVD burner, maybe a little overkill for a laptop in my opinion, but handy to have I suppose.
Now, from what I gather, this laptop has a 1.8Ghz Intel Core Duo processor, 512Mb ram, A GE Force graphics card and an 80 Gb hard drive. I have to say I have played a couple of games including FIFA07, Deer Hunter and Settlers 2 and they've ran well, very well. I don't sopend a lit of time playing games though so can't give a good review of the graphics card. I'm currently working on some web stuff that uses Mysql...

A True Mobile Workstation Notebook
Review of Lenovo ThinkPad T61p 6457 - Core 2 Duo T7800 2.6 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
vurso
Advantages: Subtle Design, Performance, Display Quality & Graphics Power
Disadvantages: Design may not suit everyone's taste
...and settings and still able to play the more demanding Supreme Commander.
The resolution is something you either love or hate, set native at 1920x1200 on a 15.4" screen it can either be an eyesore or a god send (thankfully for me it's the latter). Howvever the screens scales really well and you can drop down to the more easier to use wide screen resolutions without any loss of quality.
I specced my laptop up with 4gb memory, a 200GB Sata Drive, DVD RW Writer, Intel Wireless/Bluetooth Add-On, 1GB Intel Turbo Memory and the Intel T7800 2.6Ghz Core 2 Duo cpu which is blisteringly fast at everything I throw at it.
The design as I mentioned is not to everyone's taste but I love it, understated in the black chassis it speaks volumes i.e it's designed to work hard, not just look good sitting on your dining table....

Undoubtedly the best laptops on the market
Review of Lenovo ThinkPad T61 6464 - Core 2 Duo T7300 2 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
stueng
Advantages: Built-in 3G (optional); keyboard light; build quality, excellent software
Disadvantages: A little heavy due to build quality; some will find them ugly
...I've owned Lenovo/IBM laptops now for about 5 years - starting with a T20 and moving up through the lines to a T61 type 6464
I work in IT and have done a lot of contract and consulting work which means I get exposure to a broad range of different laptops. My friends who also work in IT also have a variety of different laptops. I can honestly say that I have never been jealous of anyone else's laptop (except for one friend who has the X61 Tablet) in a very very long time - these machines are really great!
In this day and age there is very little to distinguish one manufacturer from another for the most part - it used to be a lot easier; a few years ago and you could look at the spec sheets of two laptops and you would immediately know which was the better machine. Now as battery life; CPU speed, RAM and HDD space and monitor sizes...

IBM T41 LapTop
Review of Lenovo ThinkPad T41 2373 - Pentium M 1.6 GHz - 14.1" TFT by
tgrigg
Advantages: Robust fells and looks greats easy to move around with.
Disadvantages: Need more memory with it
...I have brought eight of these IBM T41 laptops, there specifcations our, 1.6 GHz Intel Pentium Processor, 256 MB of memory but with have brought extra ram for making in 512mb, it has a 40 GB hard disk drive, 14.1" TFT active matrix display with Microsoft Windows XP Professional and it weights about 2.3 kg Weight and battery life is about 4.7 hours. It also has built wireless which is pretty good you will have to update the driver on the wireless card first as the old driver ahas a little bug. Its supports Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet but if youhave wireless you need this and has a ATI MOBILITY RADEON 7500 - 32 MB which is good and doesnt come up with any problems and it also has bluetooth capabilites to link your mobile to your laptop this will only work if you mobile phone has bluetooth built on it.
These laptops our...

Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 / 2.33 GHz processor
Review of Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 / 2.33 GHz processor by
mop591
Advantages: Very fast, cheap
Disadvantages: need to have IT expereince
...This intel dual core processor with 2.33Ghz speed (total speed of 4.6Ghz) with a 4MB Cache can handle an awful lot of demanding programs runnning at once, obviously it has its limits, but for the price its a very good processor. This processor is also compatable with 64 bit computing.
It has an LGA775 Socket which is compatable with most of the new motherboards if you are looking to upgrade or build your own pc. If you are looking to buy a processor i would highly recommend this one or several similar ones, but you need to have IT experience and know what you are doing before paying out for one of these. It comes with a 3 year limited warrenty so it is really set to last....
