Review of Lenovo ThinkPad X41 2525 - Pentium M 778 1.6 GHz - 12.1" TFT - with X4 UltraBase by
tartupets
Advantages: Extreme performace and user experience
Disadvantages: 128 mb graphics memory low performance
...extended periods of heavy processing.
Also, the keyboard is among of the best to use. I can guarantee, that the precision and ease of use suits to everyone
But with all the good things in life there must be negative things also.
One thing, which is common to the TouchPoint, is the "ghostmovment"
of the cursor. This happens when you apply uneven pressure to one destination. But this is logical and is easy to fix.
Also, the Pentium M is not as fast as the Celeron in small application, but is suited for heavy processing.
And the most negative thing is the graphics power. It cant run DirectX9 games and it runs earlier versions of DirectX games too fast.
The covering material of the monitor is somewhat delicate and scratches fast.
But the known fact to all ThinkPads is that they are very rigid and strong. The construction is extremely...

Small is Beautiful
Review of ThinkPad X40 2371 - Pentium M 738 1.4 GHz - 12.1" TFT by
marmalade47
Advantages: Small Lightweight, Feature-packed, Durable, Good Software
Disadvantages: No Optical Drive, Smaller Screen, Price
...I have owned my X40 for nearly a year now and at the time is was the top of the range - even now, only the processors have got faster (with a shorter battery life). I love it to bits!
It is light, impressive, powerful (I do MS Visual Studio .NET on mine with no probs), long battery life - around 3.5hrs on the extended battery despite what is quoted. The display is a little small and lacking in resolution but once docked that ceases to be a real problem for most people.
The real plus points are the software utilites which comes as standard - Rescue and Recovery, Access Connecitons (for seemless mobility and connectivity), the new Lenovo Software Update tool which is sooooo brilliant and keeping all the hardware, BIOS etc up to date even for thickies like me.
All in all it does exactly what it says on the tin and to be honest...

IBM T41 LapTop
Review of Lenovo ThinkPad T41 2373 - Pentium M 1.6 GHz - 14.1" TFT by
tgrigg
Advantages: Robust fells and looks greats easy to move around with.
Disadvantages: Need more memory with it
...I have brought eight of these IBM T41 laptops, there specifcations our, 1.6 GHz Intel Pentium Processor, 256 MB of memory but with have brought extra ram for making in 512mb, it has a 40 GB hard disk drive, 14.1" TFT active matrix display with Microsoft Windows XP Professional and it weights about 2.3 kg Weight and battery life is about 4.7 hours. It also has built wireless which is pretty good you will have to update the driver on the wireless card first as the old driver ahas a little bug. Its supports Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet but if youhave wireless you need this and has a ATI MOBILITY RADEON 7500 - 32 MB which is good and doesnt come up with any problems and it also has bluetooth capabilites to link your mobile to your laptop this will only work if you mobile phone has bluetooth built on it.

***X series - Versatile & Flexible***
Review of Lenovo ThinkPad X41 Tablet 1866 - Pentium M 758 1.5 GHz - 12.1" TFT by
mightyd
Advantages: Swivel Hinge, Handwriting mode, Fingerprint Recognition, Awesome Features
Disadvantages: Expensive
...nobody can forge, copy, or use, unless someone somehow manages to chop your finger off. But I believe that's very unlikely!
The colour is sleek and quite nice although it would be better if it was available in a silver colour. And weighing approximately 1.8 kilograms, which is less than 2 bags of sugar, you can easily say that this is extremely light and if you want to take your PC tablet away from home, you easily can with no difficulty at all. The dimensions are stated above but to get an idea, it is slightly larger than an A4 piece of paper which couldn't be more of a perfect size.

lenovo 3000 n200
Review of Lenovo 3000 N200 0769 - Pentium Dual Core T2330 1.6 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
loopylozer
Advantages: everything
Disadvantages: volume not very loud
...I've had my laptop since december 07 and love it, id be lost without it now. It does everything I want it to, its fast and very reailble, comes with wireless, finger reader so no typing in your passed word and many more features, won't pretend I know alot about computers but this has been above my expectations for the money and would definately recommend it, the only one disappointing thing was the volume its not very loud on full but you can buy speakers and it hasn't really been a problem. Also don't be put off my the name Lenovo I nearly was as Id never heard of them before, but Lenovo took over from IBM computers. honestly the price is great for what you get and its so easy to use. Don't be put off by Vista either I've had no trouble at all....

Lenovo 3000 N200 - well worth it
Review of Lenovo 3000 N200 0769 - Pentium Dual Core T2330 1.6 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
myfanwy3105
Advantages: Dual Core Processor, Fingerprint sensor
Disadvantages: Weight, size
...I bought this laptop about 4 months ago, and it was so worth it! It may be bigger than some laptops but feels a lot more substantial. So far Vista has not caused any problems - fingers crossed - however I have not installed many new programs so have not had to search for patches. The lenovo maintenance and security options have proved useful. Bit slow to start up, but that could be due to the fact that i havnt taken as much care with it as it should. Also, the battery life is not the best, but the use of power saver option improves this greatly in my opinion. Dual core processor has made this a lot quicker than my old laptop. Overall I have found this a very worthwhile purchase....

Thinking of a Thinkpad?
Review of ThinkPad T40p 2373 - Pentium M 1.6 GHz - 14.1" TFT by
nattinoo1970
Advantages: Light, flat and compact
Disadvantages: Being Black
...I had wanted a laptop for years but never had the courage to actually take the final step of buying one. Even after looking at countless different brands and models I still chose a desktop PC!
At a new job I was given a Thinkpad T43. I found it incredibly easy to use, and as I was splitting my time between the office and home was having to carry it around with me.
After months of using the laptop my desktop PC at home died and I decided to try and replace it with a Thinkpad. Because I was on a restricted budget and couldn't afford a new laptop I decided to see what was available second-hand. I was overjoyed to find a company on ebay that sells refurbished Thinkpads and bought mine a good couple of months ago. So I now have 2 laptops to use - 1 for work and 1 for personal use.
The Thinkpads are light for a laptop, very flat (a lot...

Lenova ThinkPad R61i 7650 Review
Review of Lenovo ThinkPad R61i 7650 - Pentium Dual Core T2310 1.46 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
MaximumFear
Advantages: Easy to use, runs smoothly, good battery life and high quality.
Disadvantages: Some probelms with the wireless adapter.
...I have owned several different ThinkPad's over the years. I have enjoyed them all and found them to be extremely useful and reliable. I knew that I wanted a decent quality portable laptop that would be suitable for all the basics.
I have been using the laptop mainly for office related items such as documents and spreadsheets but have also been using it to store and edit photographs and videos. So far I have had no problems and that fact that it comes with a media card reader was very useful.
This version of the ThinkPad is pretty similar to the rest of the laptops in the series. There is little to no distortion with the screen and it is fairly bright and gives a high quality picture. I couldn't find any problems with the laptop as a whole, nothing is loose or flex's for the most part.
The R61 has pretty much all the ports you...

Budget Laptop for £400 mark?
Review of Lenovo 3000 N200 0769 - Pentium Dual Core T2330 1.6 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
mcc28
Advantages: Good build quality, includes Vista, reasonable performance
Disadvantages: Not sure about the Lenovo Suite of Programs included
...the other two were good too!
There is no extra software, but again so long as you are aware and budget for this - not a problem. The Lenovo Care Suite of Programs is not to everyones taste. I'm going to reserve judgement at the moment but bear in mind that if you have to reinstall the system, because you'll be using a recovery disk, then these programs would be automatically installed again.
Finally, I recommend the machine if you're looking for something to surf the web, email and office applications and maybe the odd game that does not require strong graphics. It represents a solid purchase for £400.

IBM Thinkpad X30 Pentium 3 1.2 ghz USED.
Review of ThinkPad X30 2672 - PIII-M 1.2 GHz - 12.1" TFT by
safariman72
Advantages: Small, light and well spec'd
Disadvantages: Replacement parts prices.
...I originally bought my Thinkpad as a starter for my partner as she reckoned they are easier to use. My reason was that it was small enough to put out of the way if she never used it.
I bought it off E-Bay and apart from a small amount of worry with the screen getting damaged in transit paid £200 plus postage.
It arrived well packaged and undamaged and to my surprise looking very good for an older model laptop.
HARD DRIVE
It came pre-installed with Windows XP Pro as it would have when new, and booted up quickly and very quietly. The 40gb hard disk is quite ample as it gives you plenty of space to install whatever anti-virus you require and enough space for applications for the average user. At the moment on this one I have a few of my favourite cds, some games, office 2007 and Photoshop 8, yet still have 20gb hard disk space free...
