Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. Philips SoundMachine AZ102N - The Soundmaster!

Advantages: Good quality chassis, good sound quality, does everything for the price, looks nice.
Disadvantages: Inbuilt handle could have been better, silver version better than white -preference.

...regretted this later. I do not own anything from Philips but believe this was a good purchase and I am sure it will last. Overall an excellent CD/Radio stereo and would recommend it to anyone to is looking for a stereo for the kitchen, bedroom or office. While it is basic it does what it is told without any argument. Thumbs up!...

Advantages: Slimmer and lighter than many LCD TVs of similar size.
Disadvantages: None come to mind.

I bought this for my boyfriend for his birthday as an upgrade to a previous Philips shaver. It was on offer in Boots at the time and I paid about £140 as well as generating some Boots loyalty points. ~~~~~~~ The Unit ~~~~~~~ At the time it was the 2nd from the top of the range - the top of the range was the nivea moisturise one. It also has an edge trimmer and the boyfriend does not bother with moisturiser (!) so this model is sufficient. The shaver is about 6 inches tall and about 2 inches wide so it fits in the palm of your hand. Philips Electric Shaver

Advantages: Built In Conditioner, quiet, stylish, effective
Disadvantages: Bit of a hassle to clean

...and colours. The feel of it is very comfortable on the hand and is easy to grip, due to slight ridges around the back of the shaver. This also makes it very comfortable and easy to hold, which i would say is one of the most important factors in something that is to be used daily. Also, obviously, it must be good at its job. Which this shaver is. It did a very good job, and was the closest shave i have ever had. I was previously using a gillette mach 3 razor and shaving foam. The Philips shaver eliminates the need for shaving foam, which i always found an annoyance. I think that the reason for the closeness is the fact that each of the heads vibrates/girates and moves independantly, meaning that they can move accordingly to each person's individual features. Moving around the jaw bone and cheek bones, means that it gets alot closer to the skin...

...This DVD recorder is a nice slim line unit and has divx playback. Throughout the time we have had it, it has been very reliable and easy to use. Occasionally it doesn't play certain divx files but on the whole it plays most, it also plays MP3 files and JPEG files. It has the ability to record and erase re-recordable dvds. It has excellent build quality and comes with 2 scart sockets on the back. Along with audio output and digital output therefore making it versitile to the upgrading market. It has audio and video input on the front of the machine for digital cameras or camcorders, therefore no messing around plugging them into the back. All in all I would recommend this machine as a good buy and have been impressed with all the features....

...Hi All I was looking at all the reveiws for phillips and was suprised with some of them as phillips has come a long way in the dvd world. This player is the nuts, point blank i am very happy that i brought this product so i will say a little more- I used to spend hours and hours downloading films and TV series but not no more!!!! This Player does more than what you could imagine and saves time for the consumer. Stargate is one of my fav shows and the amount of hours i used to spend converting all the TV shows onto dvd format but stop press; this player has DIVX built in and most of the websites i have been to looking for this tv show puts Stargate in DIVX format.
