New Less Than Jake Is Overrated

Advantages: A couple of tracks are quite enjoyable.
Disadvantages: The album on the whole is really rather disappointing.

...'In With The Out Crowd' is the most recently released album from Less Than Jake. At two years old it isn't exactly 'brand new' any more, but the newest nonetheless and will remain so until they release their eighth studio album later this year. It is my least favourite of all of the albums from the Floridian Ska Punk band Less Than Jake and in truth is not one that I hold in particularly high regard at all. That said, it is by no means a bad album, it's just not a great one. The album is really rather lacklustre and none of the tracks present are particularly exciting at all. The first single lifted from this album was 'Everything Is Overrated' for example which in itself is a really average track. The sad thing is that it is probably one of the highlights from the album and nothing really shines through too much. All twelve tracks...

Less Than The Rest

Advantages: Another LTJ Album
Disadvantages: Not as good as before

...Well, this album is a bit different from Less Than Jakes other albums, not really much ska in it, well other than track 3 which is a lovely little ska tune. Dont think that it that good to be fair, but it might be a bit of a bias opinion because the CD I was listening too was scratched so I did not get the full listening pleasure. I'd recommend it to all those who follow Less Than Jake, and too all those who listen to terible terible pop "music". I'm kind of hoping that the CD will grow on me, and if it does I will update this review! But for now, my opion of it is not that high. But I suppose everything is worth a listen... I guess...

Less than good

Advantages: none
Disadvantages: excess is 10% of bill + £70!

...A week ago I took out home insurance with More Than, after I said yes to the quote- the lady asked me if I wanted any other quotes on insurance- I said none are up for renewal yet- she said I'd menioned I have a dog- and did I want a quote on that- it won't do any harm? I said ok- I guess I can cancel with my exsisting insurer. The cover was the same as the cover I currently had- but the have a new service- a 24 hour call centre- to get free pet advice from a qualified vet/nurse. Also the cost was a few £'s cheaper per month, the excess was £70 which is standard on all pet insurance policies- for dogs. I said- ok, I will take that cover, which is there top of the line one. I cancelled my direct debit with the current insurer... A week on- no documents had arrived- I called them- and they told me they only send things out...

Review of More Than Pet Insurance

No less than you'd expect

Advantages: some great tracks
Disadvantages: None for me

...I was introduced to these guys not so long ago by a friend and this is the first album I heard from them. It has some quality tracks and some amazing lyrics. My favourite track on here is Rest Of My Life, it has quite a simple melody (which isn't a bad thing) and amazing lyrics such as 'The emptiness starts to drown the quiet corners of this town' and 'Every second that goes by I'm screaming out for a second try'. Close second is Overrated because I can realte to the lyrics so easily. The best of which is 'Everybody's so afraid to be different, please excuse me now if I don't get it'. This reflects the title of the album, 'In With The Out Crowd' and the message, 'Don't follow the crowd'. These are the best tracks on the album but none of the others are bad songs. ...i got really exited after i heard news of the new ltj album. as i listened to it i heard none of the old skary style but a more punky, rocky feel to the album. at first i didnt like this and the album got buried under other ltj releases such as pezcore, the original piece of genius and hello rockview, the best album to date (in my opinion). however, when i saw the almighty less than jake live on the borders and boundires tour, i became very impressed with hte songs they played from the album. (magnetic north, suburban myth, look what happend, gainesville rock city, pete jacksons getting married and last hour of tyhe last day of work).i started listening to the album again and enjoyed listening to these particular songs. however the rest of the album still didnt match up to the previous releases and will never be as memorable such as...

Advantages: Some excellent 'anthems' from Gainesville's Ska Punk's
Disadvantages: Horn section is not as prevalent as with previous albums

...Having formed in Gainesville, Florida in 1992 as a Power pop three piece, the music of Less Than Jake soon progressed and evolved meaning that the band now stand strong as one of the best known American Ska Punk bands of the past decade. Having now released eight albums and with another on the way; Less Than Jake are a band that are definitely still going strong. 'Anthem' was the bands seventh studio album, released in 2003 and containing the hit singles of 'She's Gonna Break Soon' and 'The Science Of Selling Yourself Short', two of the bands most commercially successful single releases to date. Although perhaps not the best album to have been released by the band, 'Anthem' is still a high quality album containing a number of excellent tracks. Laugh, I Greased, er, Creased Up

Advantages: Completely insane, and shouldn't be allowed
Disadvantages: Very short, and not really value for money

...There are some bands who should be locked up for their own safety. Not because they're that bad, but because they are having far too much fun doing what they do, and it's just not fair. I mean, if you're better looking than me (this covers a lot of people, but there you go), better musicians than me (this covers pretty much everyone), better singers than me (er, so does this), more talented songwriters than I am (same theory), earn more money than me (ditto) and attract more women than I do (do I need to say it?), then I want you to be unhappy. It's nothing personal, you understand, I just want to be seeing something negative, just to bring the balance a little way back in my favour.
