Gears of War 2 - basically just a few extra levels

Advantages: Great fun to play, high detail graphics, some good ideas
Disadvantages: Almost exactly like the first gears of war

...Gears of war 2, what's changed? Gears of war 2 is a third person, futuristic, blood thirsty, shoot 'em up. Featuring very high detailed graphics and great sound effects. The game starts with the lead characters Marcus and Dom from the original Gears of War. But this time you are joined by a new recruit, Carmine and a time served badass Tai. Just like the first Gears of War you again have the option to 'get straight into the fight' or start with a tutorial styled first level 'Show the trainee around'. After a quick reminder of how to use your weapons and controls, you jump straight into the fight. The story-line seems very similar to the first gears of war, I don't want to spoil it, but it seems the humans have been fighting for years. The enemy 'locusts' are back, they somehow survived the WMD from the end of the first gears...

A level playing field?

Advantages: One of their best tracks is included.
Disadvantages: Quite a bit of dross.

The Levellers, by the time this had been released, had been a band for nearly five years, though their original vocalist left after album number 1, they were certainly getting well known outside of the punky/celtic/festival scene that was their origins. I certainly remember seeing them in London in 1990 and they had built up quite a following of students, squatters and festival goers. This album for me marked a bit of a change in direction and, in my opinion is not as good as the first album 'A Weapon called the Word', or the 2nd album, 'Levelling the Land'. It is almost like they have got better and more polished, yet lost something along the way. Sonic Adventure 2, Level Extrordinaire

Advantages: good game | its on other consoles | it has sonic and the guys
Disadvantages: it is not as good as the original's | its not adventurous like the first Sonic Adventure

...This review is about Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, there are loads of functions for this game, and loads of other Sonic games. In this you go through the game level by level, and you do battles in some, with all 3D areas. There are battles with Egg Man (the main bad guy), and then you can battle Shadow (Sonic, but a test experiment) which you do at the end, depending which side you decide to choose. There are two sides, the Light side, which is Sonic and his team, which is Tails, and Knuckles, and then there is Dark Side, which is Shadow, Egg man and Rouge. A welcome return of Level 42!

Advantages: Very catchy, great to hear from them again
Disadvantages: May be too much of the same thing for some people

...I have always loved the musical style of Level 42. Although I wasn't born when the band was formed, and I didn't really take an interest in them until nearly twenty years later, I can't help but love the feel-good quality to each track - and of course, Mark King's superb signature slap-bass style. I don't know how they do it, but I always feel great whenever I listen to them! It's not just me either - Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer once described the feeling you get from listening to them as "the [great] feeling you get listening to Level 42 on a summer's day".
