...it used to be very cheap at only £19.99 but of course the price might have changed by now. The prices do vary as well, and I would say the ink cartridge is expensive but worth it. It prints out quality pictures that look good with no smears on the page. If you think the ink cartridge does not work for you, it is possibly because your Lexmark series printer is of bad quality or maybe it is dying just like mine did. I would definitely recommend the cartridge to those whom have Lexmark printers as it is simple to use and does not give you trouble. Another thing is that it prints very well without smudging the pictures or documents etc. The Lexmark NO.33 ink cartridge does last long. The Cheap and cheerful ish Cartridge!

...Hello and welcome to this review! My gosh those trial cartridges that come with your printer sure do run out quickly! These cartridges are greatly priced, much cheaper than other brands such as HP! However, there is one problem I have come accross when using the Lexmark 1 Cartridge. That being - When black is printed, it doesn't quite come out black! Its more of a green colour. I understand this is because colours are mixed inside the cartridge to make black but the best colour they can make must be green:( I thought it may have been my printer however I bought a second and its exactly the same! I would definately say for the price of this printer and cartridge range It is good for people doing everyday printing, however if you are printing invoices etc and require that crisp look Im afraid you will not get it...

The average yield of the cartridge is 275 pages at 15% coverage on normal print, which when compared with the 205 @ 5% with moderate use cartridge (No 16) is quite a big difference (The moderate use is normally the free cartridge included in the box with a new printer). Although I cannot confirm or deny the actual coverage, I do know that these cartridges last a good time, between 3 & 6 months in our house, depending on the amount of homework researched by the kids for school and the number of greetings cards/photographs printed out. HP45 Print Cartridge

Advantages: Print quality, ease of use

...can malfunction and leak, but I have yet to experience this happening to any of the ones I have had. With my recycling hat on, there is no mention on this cartridge of whether any parts have been used from recycled materials. I?m assuming then that HP are not trying to used recycled parts in this print cartridge, which seems a real waste considering the amount of these cartridges that must be used and thrown away on a daily basis worldwide! Here comes my usual gripe with Hewlett Packard consumables, I feel that they are too expensive! OK £20 might not seem that excessive a price, but considering that you usually need a colour cartridge too for around the same price, you are talking about £40 just to replace the ink in a printer that probably only cost £80 to begin with! I don?t think that it is particularly fair to consumers...

Oki toner cartridge - Professional, excellent quality printing.

Advantages: Professional quality. Simple to change, good colour
Disadvantages: Expensive, not sure if it is recyclable

...I have been using the Oki toner cartridges for apporximately 12 months. In my opinion the quality is fantastic, clear and precise. When a notice pops up telling me to replace the cartridge it can be ignored for quite a considerable time, even when running low on certain colours I have still found that the quality is good. When the time comes that the colour reproduction is not good enough then as long it is not for an important document I have found that by just simply removing the cartridge, shaking it about a bit and replacing it, it can bring the colour back to life and will add extra life to it.On the whole I feel it produces professional print quality. I think it is an expensive item but have not compared the longevity against an alternative product....

Advantages: Quality colour
Disadvantages: Expensive for what it is! Only fits a small number of printers

...admit that if you liken to print off lots of colour pics, this isnt the best cartridge for you - it will run out quite quickly - despite the guarantee that it will print 450 pages! This cartridge will set you back between £15-25 depending on your retailer, but if you want to buy the real thing, its worth the money. Although make sure you clean your printer heads regularly to avoid any clotting of the ink on the rollers. If you dont want to keep forking out for these cartridges, its possible to get them refilled or buy cheap cartridges that are compatable with most lexmark printers for around £5-12. But be aware that some have a tendency to leak so ask your local retailer to recommend you one. or buy the genuine thing on ebay...i saw some going the other day for about £1.99. Once an expensive piece of equipment - a perfectly useable printer can now be bought for as little as £20, but the initial joy at acquiring a bargain printer can be short lived once you realise that the Ink cartridges needed often cost more than that initial printer outlay. Unfortunately when I went shopping for a printer last year I was more interested in dots per inch and pages per minute than the cost of cartridges, and it was only when I came to buy replacements for my Lexmark Z52 that I realised they were amongst the most expensive available! ...I use lexmark cartridge No 2 for my printer, they are readily available in PC World £14.99 and other shops stock them too Such as Tesco, Argos, etc. They come in a vibrant red box and has a large No 2 inside a rainbow ringed circle, with the Models it is suitable fo ( X2480 & X3480) clearly marked on the front of the box. Lexmark states on the box that they are the Original replacement cartridge with a new intergrated Print head to give you sharp Crystal clear results over time. They are very simple to fit into the printer just lift up the fixing cover and slot in to place and snap shut the holding lid, slide back in place in the printer. (dont forget to remove the sticky seal 1st). The ink lasts for approx 120 print outs, you get more than this if printing mainly black and white, or slightly less if printing a lot...

...Printers are marvellous things when they work!We bought an Epson DX4000 a couple of years ago after problems with our HP printer. It was reduced in Tesco and as it is a photo copier and printer we thought it was a bargain but decided to check out the cost of the cartridges before buying. We have used various makes of cartridges over the years for previous printers but had been having problems and always having to clean to get good printing so we were wasting ink. We got sample size cartridges with the printer but bought a Multipack so we were ready when a replacement was needed. The Multipack has 4 cartridges, 1 of each black, yellow, magenta and cyan. The box is blue with a picture of a Cheetah and is in the Cheetah range, there are other ranges like Monkey. Hummingbird and Seahorse makinh it easy to spot the one you want to buy...
