lexmark ink goes beyond the pale

...I use lexmark cartridge No 2 for my printer, they are readily available in PC World £14.99 and other shops stock them too Such as Tesco, Argos, etc. They come in a vibrant red box and has a large No 2 inside a rainbow ringed circle, with the Models it is suitable fo ( X2480 & X3480) clearly marked on the front of the box. Lexmark states on the box that they are the Original replacement cartridge with a new intergrated Print head to give you sharp Crystal clear results over time. They are very simple to fit into the printer just lift up the fixing cover and slot in to place and snap shut the holding lid, slide back in place in the printer. (dont forget to remove the sticky seal 1st). The ink lasts for approx 120 print outs, you get more than this if printing mainly black and white, or slightly less if printing a lot...

THINK INK!

Advantages: Easily obtainable, good value, recyclable.
Disadvantages: Really just the idea of it not being a genuine new original!

...MY HISTORY WITH INK CARTRIDGES: From the time I bought my first printer, I have really had nothing but problems when it has come to keeping them supplied with ink! The brand named cartridges generally contain less ink for your money and so they need either need replacing more frequently, or you pay considerably more. My first printer, an Epson, was bought along with bottles of refill ink and a syringe to inject each colour into the colour cartridge, and a bottle of black for the other one. The salesman in PC World assured me it was easy? well it was the first time, apart from the mess! then the second time I just flooded the printer, and I had to buy new cartridges. My second printer a Lexmark, had the same thing happen and I eventually scrapped it! Now I have a HP PSE 1317 inkjet 3 in 1, and I love it, but the ink cartridges...

Tesco Cheap Ink Cartridge

Advantages: Cheap, Does the Job
Disadvantages: Printouts are not very good,Tends to smudge easily

...I purchasd this this third part ink cartridge whilst out shopping in my local Tesco store for just under £3 which seemed like a bargain so i thought i'd give it a go. I've used other third party ink cartridges in the past so thought i'd try this one out too since Tesco seem to make everything now. As with all third part ink cartidges,the initial prints are good and of acceptable standard considering that they can cost up to 90% less than the genuine original ink cartidiges. However as you print out a few more,mthe quality degrades considerably and you'll also notice that the ink does not last as long as the original ones do. The print outs are also prone to smudging and take ages to dry properly compared to the originals and the ink dries up faster if you haven't used them for a long time. I also found that using the printer cleaning...

With some of the alternative products on the market today I am inclined to believe you can the same quality for less money. Many alternative ink cartridges contain more ink than official HP cartridges, however the problem with these cartridges is not always being sure of the quality of the product you are buying, nor the reliabilty...

VIVANCO Ink Cartridge Replacements

...With the ever growing cost of ink replacement cartridges everyone is looking for an alternative they can afford. One of the hardest printers to get cheap ink for are the Epson Stylus range. Technically you can not refill the ink cells, but that is a myth. Most business type computer outlets sell unknown ink brands in kit form with a syringe and instructions on how to fill the appropriate cartridge. Firstly i would not recommend refilling your old ones, It's messy, Awkward, and very rarely is effective, at least on a third or fourth refill. What i would recommend is a cartridge made by VIVANCO. Their cartridges are virtually exact duplicates of the original Epson range but they are only about 2 thirds of the cost. The ink quality is good and the print quality has no noticeable difference. They fit MOST of the hp printer range, but not all, Cheap ish, as far as ink cartidges go, not a bad price at all, and to be honest they do last a fair while, so the value for money is good Quality, not the best, but certainly more than adequate for good quality photos, i have always liked hp printers, for their quality of print, hence why i chose mine this time There isnt much more i can say about it to be honest, if you want a nice quality printer, choose one with this ink cartridge, nice price, nice quality, good product, i would recommend it. Ill give it a 5, i would give it a four, because the quality isnt the best available, but for the money, reliability, and time they last, they deserve a five....

The Cheap and cheerful ish Cartridge!

...Hello and welcome to this review! My gosh those trial cartridges that come with your printer sure do run out quickly! These cartridges are greatly priced, much cheaper than other brands such as HP! However, there is one problem I have come accross when using the Lexmark 1 Cartridge. That being - When black is printed, it doesn't quite come out black! Its more of a green colour. I understand this is because colours are mixed inside the cartridge to make black but the best colour they can make must be green:( I thought it may have been my printer however I bought a second and its exactly the same! I would definately say for the price of this printer and cartridge range It is good for people doing everyday printing, however if you are printing invoices etc and require that crisp look Im afraid you will not get it...

Cheaper ink Cartridges from Ink2u.co.uk

Advantages: Cheaper Ink for most Brands

...I found www.ink2u.co.uk via an opinion by davegroom here on Ciao and decided that I would have a look when we needed some ink in a hurry and had found that the cartridges for our Lexmark Z12 wouldn’t refill properly with the ink that I had purchased. The site itself is really easy to navigate. From the home page you select the brand of printer that you have and then select the model of the printer. This then brings up all the products in stock for your specific printer. As I said, we have a Lexmark Z12 and have found the cartridges to be between £25 and £30 in our local shops, if they have them in stock. At ink2u.co.uk the remanufactured cartridges are £16.95 for Black and £18.95 for a colour, or £34.40 for the two, so we ordered them on Sunday night. They arrived on Tuesday morning - now that’s what I call service...

...This review is for the yellow Canon ink cartridge that i bought from my local ink refill store. I bought this as ink for canon printers can be extortinate so decided i would try and save on costs and try out third party ones. on first impressions,the only thing that appeared different from the original ink cartridges was the packaging. In terms of printing quality,it looked quite similar however when i started printing out more and more copies,the morethe quality degraded. The ink cartridge doesn't last as long either as the genuine ones. They also have a tendency to smudge and also do not dry as quickly. Overall i probably would not recommend them unless you are looking to use it very ocassionally...
