...Hello and welcome to this review! My gosh those trial cartridges that come with your printer sure do run out quickly! These cartridges are greatly priced, much cheaper than other brands such as HP! However, there is one problem I have come accross when using the Lexmark 1 Cartridge. That being - When black is printed, it doesn't quite come out black! Its more of a green colour. I understand this is because colours are mixed inside the cartridge to make black but the best colour they can make must be green:( I thought it may have been my printer however I bought a second and its exactly the same! I would definately say for the price of this printer and cartridge range It is good for people doing everyday printing, however if you are printing invoices etc and require that crisp look Im afraid you will not get it...

...I use lexmark cartridge No 2 for my printer, they are readily available in PC World £14.99 and other shops stock them too Such as Tesco, Argos, etc. They come in a vibrant red box and has a large No 2 inside a rainbow ringed circle, with the Models it is suitable fo ( X2480 & X3480) clearly marked on the front of the box. Lexmark states on the box that they are the Original replacement cartridge with a new intergrated Print head to give you sharp Crystal clear results over time. They are very simple to fit into the printer just lift up the fixing cover and slot in to place and snap shut the holding lid, slide back in place in the printer. ...The lexmark 82 cartridge is a decent ink cartridge that delivers all that you expect but nothing more and ends up being satisfactory. It is a black ink catridge compatible with the following printer series: X5100 series Z55 series Z65 series As you can see the lexmark 82 is not compatible with a lot of printers. Whenever i see other ink cartridges, their list of compatible printers is usually quite long but not this one. As a result the cartridge is not in as much demand as other cartridges and i often find that my local high street stores dont sell them or are out of stock. The main problem with this cartridge is the price. ...it used to be very cheap at only £19.99 but of course the price might have changed by now. The prices do vary as well, and I would say the ink cartridge is expensive but worth it. It prints out quality pictures that look good with no smears on the page. If you think the ink cartridge does not work for you, it is possibly because your Lexmark series printer is of bad quality or maybe it is dying just like mine did. I would definitely recommend the cartridge to those whom have Lexmark printers as it is simple to use and does not give you trouble. Another thing is that it prints very well without smudging the pictures or documents etc. The Lexmark NO.33 ink cartridge does last long. NOT EVERYTHING IN LIFE IS BLACK AND WHITE

Advantages: Branded is best, crisp printing with no blockages to the print head

...unbranded cartridges but the quality simply was not on a par, so I decided the best option was to use proper branded Lexmark cartridges and be done. The 12A1970 black cartridge is fairly non descript to look at - black plastic casing with a mauve top and a couple of stickers giving brand and colour details all stored in a silver bag which in turn sits in a box of finest cardboard. The metal flexi circuit snakes from side to base and should not be touched while a thin tab protects the print head prior to installation. Installation is simply a matter of following your particular printers' instructions but with mine I simply switch the printer on and lift the front cover, the old cartridge lifts out and the new one snaps reassuringly into place.
