Advantages: can be bought from many shops, can be recycled, easy to use
Disadvantages: its rather expensive

...it used to be very cheap at only £19.99 but of course the price might have changed by now. The prices do vary as well, and I would say the ink cartridge is expensive but worth it. It prints out quality pictures that look good with no smears on the page. If you think the ink cartridge does not work for you, it is possibly because your Lexmark series printer is of bad quality or maybe it is dying just like mine did. I would definitely recommend the cartridge to those whom have Lexmark printers as it is simple to use and does not give you trouble. Another thing is that it prints very well without smudging the pictures or documents etc. The Lexmark NO.33 ink cartridge does last long. Top Quality Printing

Advantages: Good Quality ink cartridge, large compatibility list
Disadvantages: Expensive

The average yield of the cartridge is 275 pages at 15% coverage on normal print, which when compared with the 205 @ 5% with moderate use cartridge (No 16) is quite a big difference (The moderate use is normally the free cartridge included in the box with a new printer). Although I cannot confirm or deny the actual coverage, I do know that these cartridges last a good time, between 3 & 6 months in our house, depending on the amount of homework researched by the kids for school and the number of greetings cards/photographs printed out. The Cheap and cheerful ish Cartridge!

Advantages: Cheap, colour print is good, easy to insert

...Hello and welcome to this review! My gosh those trial cartridges that come with your printer sure do run out quickly! These cartridges are greatly priced, much cheaper than other brands such as HP! However, there is one problem I have come accross when using the Lexmark 1 Cartridge. That being - When black is printed, it doesn't quite come out black! Its more of a green colour. I understand this is because colours are mixed inside the cartridge to make black but the best colour they can make must be green:( I thought it may have been my printer however I bought a second and its exactly the same! I would definately say for the price of this printer and cartridge range It is good for people doing everyday printing, however if you are printing invoices etc and require that crisp look Im afraid you will not get it...

A step in the right direction

...seems to me that it's good sense to use an economy version for those odd print offs that you require. The quality of print is exactly the same, the print head is exactly the same the only difference is the price and the fact that they are not full. The cartridges are in fact Lexmark 27 cartridges which have not been filled completely with the ink required. I have found that even using these economy cartridges I still get a pretty good amount of printing done for my near £15. And as of yet I have not had to discard one for having dried out, whereas when I used the No 27 the full version of the No 17 I was constantly purchasing cartridge flush to clean the print heads and get the cartridge working again. This can once again be quite expensive since the flush itself is around £2.99 for 20ml. The no 17 and No 27 are easily fitted to your...

Disappointing for the price.

Disadvantages: Lasts less than half the amount of time as the No.16

...Unfortunately, Lexmark cartridges are already quite expensive compared to some of the other makes. If you aren't prepared to pay much for your cartridges then the No.17 is the best choice for you. Unfortunately, the No.17 is only moderate yield so doesn't last for very long. Better value for money is the No.16 cartridge. It is the same shape and size as the No.17 and is compatible with exactly the same printers. The difference is that the No.16 lasts for more than double the amount of time than the No.17 does. The No.16 does cost more money to begin with (usually £5 more), but for the amount of time it lasts it's worth paying the extra few pounds. Advantages: Quality colour
Disadvantages: Expensive for what it is! Only fits a small number of printers

...admit that if you liken to print off lots of colour pics, this isnt the best cartridge for you - it will run out quite quickly - despite the guarantee that it will print 450 pages! This cartridge will set you back between £15-25 depending on your retailer, but if you want to buy the real thing, its worth the money. Although make sure you clean your printer heads regularly to avoid any clotting of the ink on the rollers. If you dont want to keep forking out for these cartridges, its possible to get them refilled or buy cheap cartridges that are compatable with most lexmark printers for around £5-12. But be aware that some have a tendency to leak so ask your local retailer to recommend you one. or buy the genuine thing on ebay...i saw some going the other day for about £1.99. lexmark ink goes beyond the pale

...I use lexmark cartridge No 2 for my printer, they are readily available in PC World £14.99 and other shops stock them too Such as Tesco, Argos, etc. They come in a vibrant red box and has a large No 2 inside a rainbow ringed circle, with the Models it is suitable fo ( X2480 & X3480) clearly marked on the front of the box. Lexmark states on the box that they are the Original replacement cartridge with a new intergrated Print head to give you sharp Crystal clear results over time. They are very simple to fit into the printer just lift up the fixing cover and slot in to place and snap shut the holding lid, slide back in place in the printer. (dont forget to remove the sticky seal 1st). The ink lasts for approx 120 print outs, you get more than this if printing mainly black and white, or slightly less if printing a lot...

NOT EVERYTHING IN LIFE IS BLACK AND WHITE

Advantages: Branded is best, crisp printing with no blockages to the print head
Disadvantages: Expensive, no recycling address provided for empty cartridges

...unbranded cartridges but the quality simply was not on a par, so I decided the best option was to use proper branded Lexmark cartridges and be done. The 12A1970 black cartridge is fairly non descript to look at - black plastic casing with a mauve top and a couple of stickers giving brand and colour details all stored in a silver bag which in turn sits in a box of finest cardboard. The metal flexi circuit snakes from side to base and should not be touched while a thin tab protects the print head prior to installation. Installation is simply a matter of following your particular printers' instructions but with mine I simply switch the printer on and lift the front cover, the old cartridge lifts out and the new one snaps reassuringly into place. Not making the print

Advantages: easy fitting, decent lastability

...The lexmark 82 cartridge is a decent ink cartridge that delivers all that you expect but nothing more and ends up being satisfactory. It is a black ink catridge compatible with the following printer series: X5100 series Z55 series Z65 series As you can see the lexmark 82 is not compatible with a lot of printers. Whenever i see other ink cartridges, their list of compatible printers is usually quite long but not this one. As a result the cartridge is not in as much demand as other cartridges and i often find that my local high street stores dont sell them or are out of stock. The main problem with this cartridge is the price. Whenever i go to my local high street to buy ink i always find that this ink cartridge is always more expensive than most of the other ink cartridges for other lexmarks, as well as other printer brands...
