gumtree.com
Advantages: Very detailed
Disadvantages: Open to fraud
...Many will remember a time when the classified section of a local newspaper was all there was if you wanted to look for second-hand goods, or look for a place to live without going to an estate agent?but not anymore. Goodbye the classified section; hello Gumtree.com
To quote the frontpage of the website, Gumtree advertises ?Homes, jobs, cars, sofas, vintage records? anything, really??and they?re not wrong! It lists it?s good in cities across the country. And not just the capital cities of the UK, but anywhere from Brighton to Nottingham, from Oxford to Aberdeen. This handy tool can help you look for exactly what you?re after without having to sift through adverts from cities hundreds of miles from you.
Now, to indicate the scale of the website, in the London section, the ?Flats and Houses? adverts totals 124,174!! That seems a bit...

Gumtree or... how I wasted plenty of hours on this website
Advantages: still fees free! (for standard adverts)
Disadvantages: Any option costs money, plenty of time wasters, ads get automatically removed for no reason
...Gumtree is a website dedicated to free ads of certain areas of the globe. It is advertised as UK n°1 website for classified ads but it has branches also in other Worldwide locations (Australia, Poland, New Zeland, Asia and South Africa) plus European and North American partners, meaning other websites called differently but offering the same service.
The website is divided into main areas of the UK and each main city in those areas have their own space for posting your ads. So if you live in Manchester you will post your ads in your local area. Also the search of items for sale is local, there isn't yet a function for a global search, mainly because most of transactions end with a collection in person so it's useless to search items across the UK if you live in Cardiff.
Classified ads are divided into categories:
Flat & Houses...

Gumtree.com for everybody
Advantages: User friendly
Disadvantages: Some sites may be a bit frivolous.
...Gumtree.com is like one of those ad newspapers (eg. Loot) but online and is extremely helpful and user-friendly.
I have been using it a lot recently as I am back in England for a while and it is great for job hunting, accommodation and even finding friends! It is very user friendly and you can even post free ads without giving away all your personal details.
You can also hone your searches by changing the town you want to search in and there is even an option to change countries : maybe a holiday rental in France or a job in Poland!
For these credit cruch times it is a good place to sell your unwanted things and find bargains too or maybe even a job. There is a gossipy side too with such sites as "Celebrity spot" but that just shows that it caters to all tastes.
Happy hunting!...

Gumtree - Don't Judge a Book by its Cover
Advantages: variety of things, easy to access and use
Disadvantages: none i can think of
...Gumtree.com. When you first hear about this website, you'd think they aren't serious. However, you know what they say, don't judge a book by it's cover.
Gumtree is one of the best sites ever to search for a variety of things. The best thing is that not only are there job offers, but there are also cars and houses advertised for sale, many other items such as phones, tickets, instruments, baby and kids things and much more up for sale. Furthermore, there are also services that you may require like house, health and beauty, computer, legal and many more, pets, things for the community and even a link to dating for anyone no matter whether you straight, gay, looking for a casual relationship or even a serious one.
I have been on this website quite a number of times and I must say that this website has helped me a lot. I have been...

The Sound of Silence Lexus LS430
Advantages: Class. Just sheer class.
Disadvantages: Nothing
...When I write a car review, I generally try to give as balanced an opinion as possible in regard to a cars? relative merits or failings.
The problem I faced when sitting down to write this review of the new model Lexus LS430, from Japanese manufacturers Toyota, was to find ANYTHING bad, or even slightly negative, to say about it.
I have a friend in the limousine business, which explains how I found myself invited along for the morning as he put one of these beauties through its paces on an extended test drive.
To be driven in a car of this refinement and luxury is a rare experience, to be savoured and relived for months afterwards.
This car is an upgraded version of the ?old? Lexus LS400.
The first thing that strikes you about the Lexus is the noise. Or rather, the absolute lack of it! Passengers and driver quite literally glide...

The Lexus of Soarer Forums
Advantages: friendly, helpful, free, full of advice, parts for sale section, cars for sale section
Disadvantages: none
...A great place for Soarer (lexus/Toyota Soarer / SC400) owners to exchange information on some of the most underrated cars ever made.
The Soarer club is a font of information about mechanical, electrical, bodywork and all such aspects. You quickly get help from the regulars and its a great place to pick up parts in the unlikely event your Soarer goes wrong.
I joined just before I bought my Soarer and actually bought it from a member on there. I find it much friendlier than comparative places in the UK. The members are friendly and there is no membership fee.
Once registered, you have access to the variety of forums including General, Mechanical, Electrical, Bodywork, Ask the Members, Parts for Sale and Meetings and Events. There is a for sale section on the site where people can sell their Soarers which is well worth a look...

Lexus 470 incarnate of Toyota Land Cruiser
Advantages: Sophisticate and more modern feature
Disadvantages: Price
...The full-size SUV (sport-utility vehicle) from Toyota's luxury division "Lexus" got a name change, along with its new engine. In the other region in the world, Lexus 470 was released as brand of Toyota "Land Cruiser Cygnus". Switching from 6-cylinder power to a new 4.7-liter V8, also destined for Toyota's T100 pickup, the SUV was transformed from the LX 450 to the new LX 470. As before, it served as an upscale edition of Toyota's Land Cruiser. Styling was new, and the V8 engine was a "first." Each LX 470 had an independent front suspension and permanently engaged 4-wheel drive. No factory options were offered, apart from a power moon roof.
Engine :
Unlike Toyota's Land Cruiser, the LX 470 was equipped with Adaptive Variable Suspension. That system included computer-controlled shock absorbers that selected from 16 damping levels to...

Lexus IS200 SE - Winner
Advantages: Looks, Engine, Specs
Disadvantages: Fuel Consumption, Tyre Wear
...I bought my Lexus IS200 SE in January 2006 and it's safe to say it is the best car I've ever had. The build quality is rock solid, it handles brilliantly and as for the cabin, it is an extremely pleasant place to be.
The car is aimed squarely at the BMW 3-series, and just like it's main rival, it is a beautifully balanced, rear-wheel drive sports saloon. The engine is a 6-pot peach and this is it's main advantage over the BMW, which in it's 2 litre variant, only comes with 4 cylinders. The engine is smooth, refined and has VVT-i so at 4500 rpm, you get a kick in the back and the car surges forward even faster. With 153bhp, the engine is quite good for a 2 litre and has a little more power then the BMW rival. Obviously it's not a pocket rocket like a Civic VTR or Toyota Celica but the engine is more relaxed and a lot less fizzy then...

...Gumtree is an online website (gumtree.com) which allows you to place free classified adverts for many items.
Some of the sections that are covered are: jobs, dating, freebies, items for sale, cars for sale, flats for rent, flats wanted etc. In each category there is the option to post for things that you would like to buy/or receive free (TV please LOL!).
The site is very easy to use just visit the website, choose the area that you are wanting to browse (by county) or click on place your ad, then provide some basic details such as price, goods offered, condition of the goods etc and then you need to give your e-mail address and create a password (you can choose for your e-mail address to be kept private).

Gum what????
Advantages: FREE
Disadvantages: Design and Layout
...Thought I would review a site that I check very often.
www.gumtree.com
Background
Gumtree.com started back in March 2000 when a local classified ads and community site decided to connect people who were visiting the city or for people who planned to move here. Since those dark days Gumtree has went from strength to strength today they have over 1million hits per day, they are in 60 cities across 6 countries. These include UK, Poland, Ireland, New Zeland and others. In 2005 Gumtree became part Kijiji within Ebay
The website
When you first surf over to www.gumtree.com you are greeted with a rather boring looking home page which has too much information on. A yucky beige and green colour will soon have you click on other links just to change the page. There are many different headers and subsections...
