...I bought this LG Slim DVD Player Just before I bought the LG TV AND I AM SO IMPRESSED WITH THE LG brand. It has built in Dolby Digital and DTS Decoders for the crispest sound also great when used with the 32 inch wide screen TV and surround sound system of which this DVD player has the propensity for 3D Surround Sound Dual Laser Optical Pickups is another advantage of this player as it durable and faster with better quality optical pickup thus making it a powerful device. ..."When it's gone, It's gone". If you want an amazingly low priced DVD player with all the trimmings, get yourself down to Tesco sharpish before it is. (gone that is). I've just purchased the 3000E model DVD player ( Region 2 )made by LG Electronics UK, and I'm well chuffed. At £149.00 it was a steal, and the picture & sound quality is great. After looking around for a few months I was amazed to find such a great deal in the local Tesco super market. They actually had 2 different players on offer, the other being only £129.99 although that looked really boring and plain, so I opted for the LG. The first thing I liked immediately was the colour ( Silver ), as much of my home entertainment is coloured the same, hence it would look good with the rest of my stuff. ...makes a better sense choice for backing up data from a computer, which needs to be re-written often as it can be re-written over 100,000 times, unlike the 1,000 times of DVD-RW and DVD+RW. But thats not the only reason to choose this drive. It is as fast and reliable as any other DVD-Writer on the market, and doesn't cost any more, so it seems silly to spend money on another dvd-writer that can't do everything this one can do. It also comes with a decent software bundle (that is continually updated so i won't list it) which allows you to straight away burn discs, capture and edit movies, backup your computer and much more. The drive comes in black, silver or beige (i like black personally). I have never once been let down by this drive, in fact i liked it so much, that i bought two of the newer LG GSA 4163BB Drive... Advantages: Inexpensive, lots of features, stylish looks

...This is a perfectly legal way to convert your LG-3200E DVD player to multi-region so you can take advantage of all those great priced DVDs at www.cd-wow.com (please see my separate opinion on this retailer). I bought my DVD player from www.bigsave.com just before Christmas. It cost me 157.99 including VAT with free delivery. I was really impressed with the player, which was intended as a Christmas present for my husband. It’s a silver colour and very stylish looking. Also has lots of features. I was less impressed with the fact that it was advertised on the Bigsave site as a multi-region player but when it arrived the factory settings were set to the default, i.e. Region 2. So I couldn’t play any of the DVDs I’d bought from Cd-wow. I emailed Bigsave Customer Services about the problem and quick as a flash they sent me a fax containing... Read review

Advantages: One unit for DVD & Video - looks smart - Great Sound & Pictures
Disadvantages: If one or the other goes wrong, you're stuck!

...I purchased my LG DV-1000 from Argos around a year ago, especially for the Fellowship of the Rings extended DVD (what a geek!) - But as I live in a fairly small flat, I didn't want 2 machines taking up space, when I could get 1 for a good price. In fact, it only cost me £110 from Argos. The first thing you notice with a DVD player is what it looks like, and this one is pretty smart looking, in my opinion. Silver, shiny and reflective. Secondly, you have to set the thing up, and setting this up was made simple by a clear consice instruction manual, and uncomplicated on screen menus. A bonus is that it sets the date and time itself from signals it receives via the ariel! It doesn't have video+ programming for recording off the telly, but it's really simple to do it manually (My parents got one too, and even my *mum* can programme... Read review

...What more could you ask for in a DVD player, this player has features that you will not find on more expsensive well known brand name DVD players. It has dual head laser Dolby 5.1 and DTS decoder built in. the dual head laser means that you wont see the pause when the dvd switches to another layer as most dvd's a dual layer. This player also has two scart sockets which means you can connct the DVD player straight to your hifi if you do not have a spare scart socket on your TV. Again as I said in my comments regarding the LG 3200e, the worls market is split up into regions and the UK, Europe and I believe South Africa are region2. The LG 3350 can be made mutiregional via the remote control unlike more expensive DVD Players that have to be chipped to allow you to play dvd's from other regions.
