...In November of last year, when my contract was nearing its end, I began looking for a new cell phone. There wasn't a great deal of choice, with the only phone worth having looking like the LG Ku990 Viewty. Over the past 7 months there hasn't been a decision I regret more. Why? OK, so we'll start on appearance. It's not exactly an ugly phone, its just not exactly pretty either, and in fact, I feel its rather bulky. The front features a large touchscreen, with the only buttons being the Call, Cancel and End Call buttons. There's a small front-facing camera in the top right for all your video calls, and on the back lies the phones 5.0mp (Mega-Pixel) camera. Ease of use. ...THE LG KU990 (Viewty) iPhone looks, with less $$$ We have just purchased this phone, My Girlfriend is a bit of a trend setter, and so went into Phones4U to collect this piece of pure genius. The box is imprinted with the date it was made (20 Oct 2007), so in our grubby little hands fast. The first thing you notice when you open the box, is the 'pop-up' style opening, which allows you to see two pictures of the phone. One as a phone, one as a camera. When you pull the phone out of the box, it looks like a camera with phone feature... which is amazing in itself! As with most modern mobiles, the LG Viewty can be used as an MP3 player. The phone functions well playing music however the software which it comes with is not user friendly. It does'nt convert music files into MP3 so if you have any .wav or other sound files they will get copied to the phone but will not be playable. Other phones and MP3 players I have used, automatically convert all music files into MP3. So if you want to copy one of your CD's to your phone to listen to, you have to find a way of converting the whole thing to MP3 first. The LG sync program is in general hard to get to grips with. ...I love this phone, it's as simple as that. The camera is brilliant, and even once I had cracked mine the pictures taken were still very good quality. It is basically a camera, in that you can change the zoom, it has a flash, you can change it to black and white or sepia and lots of other functions. It has a good memory capacity which means you can put on a lot of songs. The only slight downfall I had with the phone was you cannot put headphones into the phone itself, there is a connector, which can make the lead overall rather long. For text messages, it can hold around 310 texts at one time before the memory is full. The predictive text is very good and if you want to add words to the 'dictionary' this is simply done, and then it memorizes it thereafter. ...In my opinion, this phone is FANTASTIC for a number of reasons. The 5 mega pixel camera is great quality and has faetures that enable you to edit your picures and add text, speach bubles, stamps and many many more! You can also change the contrast of the colours in your picture along with the ability to change the picture quality to black and white etc. You can also use a setting which reduces "red eye" and a small red light emitting diode attached to the camera, shows, when lit, the area which will be captured. This gives you time to adjust where you position the camera. The camera can take videos which are also as good as the picture quality! The text option enables quick typing, however i think that the touch sesitivity is not as responsive as others on the market at the moment such as the Apple IPhone. The storage is sufficient...

...I picked up the Viewty last september off of Ebay at a reasonable price of around £120. For this i got the actual phone itself, the charger, pc cable and all the relevant instruction books. Initial thoughts: When i got my hands on the viewty it came packed in a very tidy little box, everything was secured away nicely and looked very neat. I fired up the phone for the first time and had to input all the settings manually. A slight pain that there was no 'wizard' to guide you through but it was easy enough. The touch screen is very well made and you recieve a small buzz (the screen vibrates to show it has been touched) this is an ingenius little trick as you're never quite sure when you have touched it. ...work .... WOW!. Everyone who has had a play on my phone loves it, they find the gimic of touch amazing. Also the iphone style menu scroll is a really nice affect. I rarely use the internet on my viewty but form what i have used it, i'd call it average, it only displays mobile pages, whereas many modern phones now show full webpage display. I have no games for my phone and as it only comes with one demo (on orange, not sure about other networks) i haven't really managed to experience games. But from the demo i found that using the touch screen could be a bit fiddly and sometimes not as reactive as you'd like. Another big seller for many people, is the camera, an amazing 5 megapixel. It also includes anti-shake, which in my experience hasn't worked very well and i've found that the shutter button has been quite hard to press making...

...The LG KU990 Viewty mobile is an attractive phone and its styling is similar to the LG prada phone. It has a 3 inch lcd touchscreen which allows you to type, text messages,emails as well as scroll through web pages and record video as well as a whole host more. A Great Phone the LG KU990 Viewty

...The touch screen is at first hard to get used to but after to get used to it it is worth it. Turn it to te side and get a qwerty key board which is awesome and easy to use. This phone is fast no matter what cell phone carrier you use and regardless I believe of 3g connection or not. I honestly had a great time with this phone and have always been an LG fan. As with most modern phones with lots of applications and gadgets the phone battery wears down easily with a couple phone calls. If you use it just for texting expect the battery to last a lot longer. I've dropped the phone a couple of times and its been just fine a couple scratches but that's it. Be careful as with all new phones and mostly LGs if you drop it from too far you will crack the screen, and sometimes sitting on the phone will easily scratch the screen....
