For the price.... Perfect. The acer Aspire 5738ZG

Advantages: ram, processor speed, design, screen, price
Disadvantages: none so far

...for most people. It has a built in webcam too which gives quite a good picture. The mouse could be better, it goes a little mental at times but nothing to worry about and it does its job. The keyboard is fine and easy to use. Battery life is not fantastic, mine lasts about 2.5 hours. Its lightweight too. Though a largish laptop, its quite portable due to its weight. What I also like is its fast start up and turn off. Very nice. Its easy to use too. Vista runs smoothly. The machine cost me £379 at PC world, refurbished. I couldnt have got better for the price and specifications given. You wont find 4 gb RAM and core due 2 processor with 250gb hard disk at this price. I dare you to try. Maybe in a few years. Upgrade to a vibrating phone cheaply

Advantages: Feel your phone whenever you are
Disadvantages: It can shoot your phone across a hard surface and does make a bit of a noise.

...I had, which was a slim line one, thinner than the standard 5110/6100 battery. It was also Li-Ion which meant I did not have to run it down every time I wanted to charge it. The battery cost £15 plus delivery, sorry can not remember the online shop but it was based in America. But I have found www.cellsavers.co.uk do them for £13.99 plus delivery is free at the moment....

Review of Nokia 5110/6110 Li-Ion vibrating Battery

Acer plays the Ace card again!

Advantages: Small, lightweight, great performer. Can handle some 3D games.
Disadvantages: None for the Netbook, but Linux version is rubbish.

...only because the reviewers are comparing it to something more powerful or expecting more. For me, installing XP was the right thing to do as I can install all my usual programs which isn't possible with Linux. As the performance was more than I was expecting I can't fault it and considering the hardware installed and the price paid I was not expecting such a performance. The battery life for some may not be enough but as its only intended for browsing, checking mail and the like, it's good enough for me. Other batteries are available from around £60 and will extend usage to 6 hours. It's better to buy Acer branded ones. On a recent cruise the A150 was a dream to have for keeping in touch with the kids back home and being so small you hardly even know you're carrying it. The ability to play some older games was a bonus I wasn't expecting...

Nice in principle, crap in practice

Advantages: Light, makes the phone a lot better physically
Disadvantages: Noisy vibration, battery life is rubbish

...I saw this battery at a computer fair, and i thought it would make a nice addition to my 5110. I picked it up, and on feeling it's weight, had to buy it. Got it home, charged it up and rang it from my home phone. On discreet, the vibration is noisier than the phone on 'personal' tones. I was appalled as to how noisy it was. i was not to be put off by its loudness, however, so i thought the battery life may be a lot better than the standard NiMH cell. Again, i was proved wrong by this awful accessory as the battery life is about 2 days with this battery: the standard 1 is about 5 days to 1 week. So, all in aleft with is a short-life, noisy-on-silent phone. it does have one saving grace: my phone is now lighter than the 3210. Kiss my ass 3210 owners !!!!...

After doing a bit of research, she convinced me to buy her the Acer Aspire One netbook which she would use for web browsing and writing simple documents. I was a bit sceptical of the device, after all, to me it was just a cheap laptop. But, alas, she won and off I went to Currys armed with my credit card to begrudingly buy her one. --In the box-- The box in which the Aspire comes is very small. You'd be able to fit it under your arm and carry it no problem. As well as the netbook, there was a mains battery charger, a user manual and a recovery cd which I thought was strange considering there isnt a cd driver in the netbook!! --Initial Setup-- I must admit I found this impressive...

The best ultra mobile... Until the battery dies

...quicker. The keyboard is also slightly bigger than on the Asus. It's obviously not full size, but it's certainly that bit easier to use if you're using it over long periods. The trackpad on the other hand, while responsive, seems akward to use to me because the buttons are placed either side of the pad instead of underneath. The battery life.... Hold on, I just need to find my charger... The battery life would be fine at the 3 hours-ish if compairing this to normal laptops, but I've used the Asus Eee, and it's batterry lasts about double that. (In the 6-cell models) I just don't understand why Acer couldn't do the same. Final verdict: The Acer Aspire One is in many ways the best choice if you're looking for an ultra mobile laptop. I only wish the battery life was better. If Acer sort this out, it will definately be the king...

Aspiring to be inspiring! Is this another Ace Acer?

Advantages: SUPERB battery life, relatively portable and very slim.
Disadvantages: For basic and general business use, not games.

...Here we have a very mixed laptop in terms of its features and abilities. Firstly, I want to make clear that the Acer Aspire 4810T is a laptop to consider for business use, or non-graphics-intensive applications such as Word, Excel and standard internet browsing. If you are expecting to be able to play the latest video games and run graphics designer packages, then you'd be better off looking at other laptops with better stats than this one. What it does have in its favour is an increased battery life of around 7 hours, possibly as much as 8 - and a very slim and portable design with a gorgeous 14" screen. It is in a word SEXY! A very annoying problem. It is possible that this is a side effect of a feature on the Acer Aspire 9100. When I can get some time, I'll check this special feature out!
