Leonard Liebherr.
Advantages: Spacious, well-designed fridge with additional compartments which keep food at optimum temperature and humidity.
Disadvantages: Very minor niggles about one shelf and I suspect two of the drawers might not last as long as the fidge.
...think about what I really needed.
The trouble with only shopping once a week is that the vegetables that you bought on Friday are starting to look a little, well, tired by Tuesday and meat is more than just beginning to have an aroma. In fact, the fridge doesn?t smell quite fresh any more. I needed a fridge that would store each food at optimum temperature and humidity for the longest possible periods. I needed Leonard Liebherr.
Leonard?s fully integrated. He?s what?s called a door-on-door model. A door which matches my kitchen units is fitted onto his door and you would never know that he?s there once his door has been shut with a satisfying ?clunk?. He stands next to his petite wife, Freda Freezer Liebherr, but I?ll tell you more about her in another opinion.
He?s not exceptionally tall, at 1.4 metres and I could have gone...

Need help in choosing a Refrigerator?
Advantages: Plasma Cluster features
Disadvantages: Not really energy saving
...A few months ago, I am hunting for a refrigerator, as I am about to move into my new house. It takes me 2 months to size up all the refrigerators available in the market.
As you may find out later that all the features you want, could not be found in one refrigerator alone and that is frustrating! The wide range of styles, colours, and with a variety of features that refrigerators have, overwhelms me. All refrigerators seem to have their own attractiveness.
Finally, I found this Sharp SJ-63L refrigerator that meets most of my needs.
What it attracted me most, is its Plasma Cluster feature. This feature deactivates airborne mould spores and removes odours and bacteria from the interior of the refrigerator. It is also non CFC. Previously, I am not aware of the existence of this feature in refrigerator, as I am only aware...

My Liebherr KTES1840 revised review - now mended
Advantages: Strong constuction, easy to clean, large capacity
Disadvantages: Can't get any service or replies from Liebherr now it is broken
...I bought my Liebherr KTES1840 3 years ago, when we put a new kitchen in.
I chose it because it was the largest internal capacity for the size, and it's strong construction.
It is stainless steel, not just the door but the sides too. The shelves inside are all glass, so are very hygenic and easy to clean. All the shelves are removable for easy cleaning - absolutely perfect.
The fridge has a built in thermometer that tells you the temperature, and can be adjusted. There is a fast cool button to cool down that bottle of wine you forgot to put in for dinner.
It was a wonderful fridge but suddenly the food was warm, and it had gone wrong.
I initially tried to contact Liebherr but their web site wasn't too helpful if you are not in Germany, Austria or Belgium. I did find a form to fill in to make an enquiry but this wasn...

Refrigerator Biscuits
Advantages: You can cut and cook the biscuits as you need them.
Disadvantages: none
...to form an evenly shaped roll.
Leave in the refrigerator overnight or until you want to use it. Slice off as many biscuits needed in 1/4 inch/6mm thick slices.
Place the biscuits on a lightly greased baking tray and bake in a moderately hot oven (350f /180 c gas mark 4) for 10-15 minutes or until pale gold in colour.
Remove the biscuits from the baking tray and cool on a wire rack.
How easy is that, and they taste good....

Liebherr CTNES4653-20 - real kitchen style
Advantages: Excellent value for money, a real stainless steel FF
Disadvantages: Drainage hole sometimes gets blocked
...This is a real stainless steel fridge freezer. I ask you, why on earth don't kitchen appliance shops make it clear which items are real stainless steel and which are nasty sprayed silver things? Anyway, you need have no fear with this item - like all the Liebherr silver coloured things I have ever encountered it is real stainless steel. At a fraction of the normal price.
I have had this machine for about 3 years now, and it has responded well to ordinary household use - which means not being defrosted regularly, being stuffed full of food, and generally suffering from benign neglect. I have had no problems except that the drainage hole at the bottom of the fridge (above the vegetable compartment) occasionally gets blocked - a drinking straw pushed down it clears it promptly. People who take more care of their fridge would be less...

Frozen Asset
Advantages: High quality integrated freezer with audible warning if temperature falls.
Disadvantages: Internal control panel.
...I've just defrosted the freezer. It's not a job I like doing but I can't complain as I've had the freezer for eighteen months and this is the first time that I've had to do anything more than wipe the door handle.
When I planned my new kitchen in the autumn of 2001 I wanted a large American fridge-freezer, but the initial plans showed that it would dominate the kitchen uncomfortably. I did, however, want refrigeration of a similar quality. The kitchen designer suggested that I looked at fridges and freezers by Liebherr, a German manufacturer, who produce high quality appliances which can be built in side-by-side to provide the same capacity and features as the fridge-freezer I wanted, but at a lower cost.
The freezer arrived securely wrapped and some, but not all, of the packaging could be recycled. Transporting and fitting...

My Experience Of Refrigeration
Advantages: I forgot to say it's pretty and comes in a choice of colours.
Disadvantages: Um... I'm no good with little boxes. I like to waffle. Sorry!
...KTR 1670, our fridge, is a larder fridge: that means it doesn't have an icebox. It doesn't need an icebox because it sits comfortably in our kitchen next to its partner in cooling GSL 1202, our freezer. No icebox, see? It's next to the freezer. So, if you haven't a freezer, or your freezer is in the garage or something as they sometimes are, and you need a handy icebox in your fridge, then KTR 1670 isn't for you. You can stop reading now (and say phew). However, if a handy icebox doesn't figure on your list of refrigeration priorities then read on (and say darn). KTR 1670 is a super fridge, made by company-with-the- reasonably-posh-reputation, Bosch, and it comes with lots of handy little cooling gadgets I think you should know about. And anyway, it's my fridge, and I like it. So there.
So, let me start. Dimensions. There's a thing...

Holiday Inn a Refrigerator
Advantages: Reasonably priced, well appointed hotel. Convenient Location
Disadvantages: Poor staff communication and complaint handling
...of pillows were available from housekeeping. This is a nice touch as the right pillow can make the difference between a night?s sleep and a good night?s sleep.
There is no air-conditioning in the rooms, just a single long radiator under the window with a temperature control knob from 1-5. The windows were capable of being opened but only slightly due to safety considerations.
Having spent a rather cold first night in the room, the following morning we requested that the radiator be fixed or we be moved to another room. After a long day out and upon our arrival back at the hotel we were told that the heating had been fixed so we hadn?t been moved. Uh huh?
Entering the room was like walking into a refrigerator. Back to reception. The first room we were offered was a single! Yes, it did have a double bed but I can confirm that...

A happy return to childhood flavours
Advantages: Soft, sweet, taste divine
Disadvantages: Not enough in the packet; too small!
...Ah! The chocolate refrigerator square. A classic item in the stable of easily-made and unbotchable things we learn to cook as children.
And so, as we grow older, these things are relegated to the dusty confines of our memory in the rush to eat healthily and sensibly in the hope of prolonging our all-too-short lives.
But life without the refrigerator square can be rather turgid, and a three-score and ten innings without them is quite a stretch.
Marks and Spencer have introduced these beauties, and what a pleasure it is to discover that they have.
There are six of these little minxes in a packet. They cost around £1.20 and come in those funky little packets that fold open to pop out another one, and which are reminiscent of a plastic Toblerone, sort of triangular shaped. The packet sits well and holds the biscuits upright...
