Advantages: Good action thriller,good music too.Great storyline

...I have thoroughly enjoyed the TV series Life on Mars, and recently my girlfriend bought me the whole first series on DVD, so I thought I would review it and share with you how much I enjoyed it The Plot/Storyline The story is based around a character called Sam Tyler. Sam is a modern day detective, really up with the latest surveillance equipment and all the mod-cons. He is ambitious and really wants to progress through the ranks and his determination really shows in keeping the streets of the 21st century of Manchester safe. He is on the hunt for a serial killer ,when it gets personnel as he believes his girlfriend ( also a fellow policewomen) is kidnapped by the very man he believes is responsible for the murders he is investigating. Is there Life On Mars?

Advantages: Brilliant un-nostalgic trip back to the 70's, very insightful for younger generations
Disadvantages: The last series - ever!!!

...The second series of the critically acclaimed Kudos/BBC drama made it's epic return on February 13th 2007. Being hooked by the edgy characters and fascinating storylines of the first series, I was under no circumstances positive that I would be watching the follow up. Life On Mars - Series Two

Advantages: A great continuation of a fanstastic series
Disadvantages: It's the last series. Some might find the conclusion unsatisfiying.

...The second series of Life on Mars continues Sam Tyler's journey that began in the first series. If you haven't seen the first series then this set won't make complete sense to you, though I think series two could stand alone as the first was fairly self-contained and had its own overal story to tell. Series Two is a little more arc orientated, being the last series, and every episode takes the story another step towards its conclusion. So to the beginning. Advantages: A fantastic fantastic series
Disadvantages: Some of the 70s references will be lost on younger people.

Disadvantages: A lot of rubbish along the way

...After two triumphant series of a modern day British television classic, Life on Mars will hopefully be remembered for its dramatic take on both modern and olden day policing methods, not to mention its obvious comedy and sci-fi elements that made it a successful cross genre twist on the beloved cop show. Advantages: Brings humaniy to science and science to humanity.
Disadvantages: Does use some specialist terms.

Life on Mars - a TV series on a whole other level

Advantages: Exciting, involving and dramatic - episodes just fly by and stand up to rewatching.
Disadvantages: Episodes can seem slightly formulaic after you've seen a few.

Sam's knowledge of modern policing methods, and his dilemmas as he sees the way the 1973 policeman handle cases are the central point of the show. My one criticism would be that each episodes seems to follow a similar formula, with Sam eventually bringing the others around to his point of view and way of doing things. Overall though, this doesn't detract from the series as a whole, and it's an addictive and involving drama, with comedic aspects....

The Mighty Mars Bar

Advantages: Classic chocolate bar
Disadvantages: They changed the nougat filling

...This is perhaps the most classic chocolate bar from my childhood. It has long been my favourite as a kid and I sort of have to say it still is so as not to feel as if I have disowned it (sorry Mars Bar but I have found other favourites - I still love you though!). 'A Mars a day helps you work rest and play' - this was the little catchphrase that was associated with Mars Bar. Funny really; it's like saying a chocolate bar a day is good for you. The slogan has now changed to 'Pleasure you can't measure' which definitely seems more appropriate. A standard Mars bar comes at 58g, about 11cm long and 1.8cm high. You'll pay about 32p for this bar in supermarkets which is well below the norm of 50p. They used to be more expensive but in recent years, the classic nougat and caramel filling has obviously lost its appeal as new and more...
