Disadvantages: A little bit gory in places

...The Bone Vault written by Linda Fairstein is the latest book that I have just read. I have not read any of this Author's previous works although I was aware that the predecessor to this novel, the Deadhouse, was an International best seller. This book fits neatly into the category of crime fiction but the authenticity of how Met Assistant DA Alexandra Cooper handles the crimes in this gripping story is what sets this book apart from many books on a similar theme that I have read. This may have something to do with the fact that the Author of this work, Linda Fairstein is America's foremost prosecutor of crimes, specialising in the area of sexual assault and domestic violence. Linda Fairstein has run the Sex Crimes Unit of the District Attorney's Office in Manhattan for more than 20 years, and it is without a doubt that in this book...

Bertie Bassett gets fruity

Advantages: Colourful sweets - nice idea if you don?t like liquorice
Disadvantages: Sickly sweet and sugary

...There cannot be many people who haven?t heard of Bassett?s Liquorice Allsorts - after all they?ve been sold since 1899. Nowadays, Trebor Bassett is part of the huge Cadburys conglomerate but they still produce 14 million Liquorice Allsorts everyday. I have always enjoyed Liquorice Allsorts, as they are not only colourful and pretty, they?re delicious and fun to eat. Naturally I was very eager to try Bertie Bassett?s new Fruit Allsorts ? launched earlier this month. The advert on the television claimed that Fruit Allsorts were a delicious tangy flavoured collection of fruit sweets - similar textures, colours, mixtures and layers as the more traditional Liquorice Allsorts, but without any liquorice. I?m still not convinced that this is a particularly good marketing pitch from Bassett?s, as Allsorts are synonymous with liquorice...

Bassett for England

Advantages: Good fun, brilliant if you like football
Disadvantages: Not so good if you don't like football

...Being a big football fan, I was in desperate need for a Saturday afternoon football fix, it had gotten so bad I was in the park and had to comment on the dirty fouls that were taking part in the match which was taking place... played by kids! Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. Bassetts soft and chewy vitamins for me and you!

Advantages: Great tasting, Low in Sugar, Just 1 a day!
Disadvantages: Nothing

...For those of you who have read my review about Pityriasis Rosea, you will have read that the skin condition is caused by a virus, which was to do with my immune system. I don't eat terribly well and I certainly don't have my 5 a day and its very doubtful I get all the vitamins and minerals I need either. Only for a short period of time however and before I have devoured the whole packet I thought I should write a quick review to let you know how absolutely fabulous these particular mints are. These mints have been around for a long time and to be honest they are not that widely available as I have only seen them in one of the cheap shops near where I live and not in many sweet shops around. Mike Bassett for England

Advantages: An absolutely faultless flick in which EVERY cinematic element is 100%
Disadvantages: You will want to watch it time and time again!!!

...Mike Bassett: England Manager is a comedy and an absolutely hilarious one at that!! This is actually one of the few comedy films that is actually far funnier than it's teaser trailer!! In fact, it is so funny that it makes me feel proud to be English in that this film, in my opinion is THE Brit-flick of 2001!! Ricky Tomlinson (of 'The Royle Family' fame) plays Mike Bassett, a down and out football manager who is chosen to manage the England team. The film follows his time as England manager and the trials and tribulations that come along with such a post.
