...The Bone Vault written by Linda Fairstein is the latest book that I have just read. I have not read any of this Author's previous works although I was aware that the predecessor to this novel, the Deadhouse, was an International best seller. This book fits neatly into the category of crime fiction but the authenticity of how Met Assistant DA Alexandra Cooper handles the crimes in this gripping story is what sets this book apart from many books on a similar theme that I have read. This may have something to do with the fact that the Author of this work, Linda Fairstein is America's foremost prosecutor of crimes, specialising in the area of sexual assault and domestic violence. Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. Blair Bitch

Advantages: great concept
Disadvantages: actually quite dull

...Was it just me, or did anyone else think that, whilst the Blair Witch Project itself kinda sucked, the movie ideas behind it were truly amazing? I wasn't scared at all by the film - in fact I was barely intrigued by it, but the whole concept of it really interested me (perhaps because I studied media for 4 years I've become a bit of an elitist art critic). The whole concept - that the actors were improvising because they didn't really know what was happening, especially, and the fact that the actors were filming it themselves - really appealed to me. However, when I saw the film I was kinda dismayed by it. What could have been a truly original film was a plundering, directionless ghost story. If the creators had put a bit more thought into the film they could have had a masterpiece. As it stands, it's just another ghost story....

Lovely Linda feeds us well

Disadvantages: Not good for the diet conscious

...This is an opinion close to my heart - junk food. I decided to take the plunge and become a vegetarian in 1985, just before my son was born, and having decided to do so, then panicked about what I would actually eat! I had tried to be a veggie earlier but due to the difficulty with mixing nuts and grains and keeping my proteins and iron up, I found it was too awful and gave up. By the mid eighties, there were lots of veggie ready meals in the freezers and it was quite easy to make the change at this point. Findus were quite innovative in the field and kept me fed. Tony Blairs policies scare me more

...Hype. Hype. Hype. (notice a common theme so far?!) The reason this film was so big in America was because everybody believed the myth, the legend (the cr*p) that was published before the film was released. I think the reason that a lot of people in Britain have crushed the film so badly is because the myths etc were realised not to be true, and so the film lost its purpose and hence got slated! Let's imagine that we are in America... "So, this film is about a small group of people going into some woods, which are notoriously haunted, and everything that has been said about this film is true, and the film footage is not in anyway fake, the whole experience of watching this film will be totally true. The myths and the legend of the Blair witch are believable, and I believe them, mainly because I am an American and I am very gullible...

Disadvantages: get boring after a while

...I seem to have this awful habit of trying something, loving it, stocking up on it and then going off it in a big way. I think its because I have been a veggie for so many years and it really used to be hard to vary my diet as there were not enough products on the market. So whenever something nice comes out that I like I stock up b4 they take it off the market. As happened with Linda Mcartney Italian Style Toppers which were delicious, remember them? well anyway they stopped making them, or if they didnt they are impossible to find and I was heartbroken. Anyway getting to the point, these sausages really are presented nicely in a lovely red box.It says 'a delicious blend of cereal and pea protein with sundried tomato pieces and herbs'. I think it was the sundried tomato that tempted me, and the box shows a photo of 4 lovely looking...

Disadvantages: waste of Hollywood budget

...After the unbelievably lame first attempt at the Blair Witch legend I was surprised the effort and money was wasted on another one. Purely because the sequel looked to be something like Scream I ended up watching this teen drollery a few days ago with my partner(blame it all on him!) I'm not going to blab out the whole plot line here for the simple fact that there isn't one, but the outline of Blair Witch: Book of Shadows starts with yet another trip into that not so scary forest. The group is a mix 'n' match of excitable youths armed with camcorders and beer, the perfect goul hunting equipment! A night is spent in the wood where the Blair Witch herself is supposedly still roaming, after'witch' scary stuff ensues.
