B&Q Chequer Plate Lino laying

Advantages: Easy Clean, Warm, Looks Good
Disadvantages: Size Of Roll, Cutting Strait Edges!

...Ok we like the look of silver metal sheets of chequer plate ( the silver metal reinforcing stuff that goes on office stairs and floors in trendy cyber bars) as we were going for a dark blue and silver theam but having found out how expencive it would be we decided to look at somthing different. In B&Q we found silver lino in this patten they had the 2metre roll in but it also comes in 3 and 4 mtr rolls. It is £7.99 a sq metre so making a few rough drawing to work out how much we could use laying and cutting it in different ways we decides that with a bit of patching we needed 6mtr of it (still cheaper than metal!). This lino was in their heavy wearing range which means it has got quite a thick back on it, some of the normal lino there felt very thin -like it would wear and damage quickly but this felt good and thick. Little Henry Will Get The Job Done

Advantages: Very Easy To Use, Compact Design, Microflo Bags, Cleaning Range 31.8m & Variety of Heads

The hose with brush attached just isn?t long enough to do a staircase, which means taking it up the stairs with you. OK if you have plug sockets in the right place, I don?t and the power cord could do with being at least a metre longer. For me cleaning my stairs now means getting out an extension lead. I would also love to see a flat head attachment to make the stairs a little easier. Some other great features are the High-level H12 HEPA, making it great for allergy suffers and an LED indicator light to alert you to any blockages. The brush works wonders on carpets and can easily be turned off to use on hard floors. We have a variety of different floors, carpets, laminate, tiles and lino and it cleaned all of them brilliantly and right to the edges...

The suction of this machine is amazing, it left my carpets looking brighter and dealt with pet hair (two cats one long and one short hair) with no problems. Sebo Felix - Red Carpet Cleaning!

...This is surely the greatest home vacuum cleaner around! It was recommended to me by local shop who told me that they had been given one as a demo and had thrown away their commerial cleaner! The head is removable so that you may hoover the stairs less its weight. The nozzle has a long range and a carpet attatchment which is ideal for carpeted stairs. I am able to vacuum under all of my setees due to the excellent "lay-flat" nature of the Sebo. On turning the vacuum cleaner on it automatically pulls away itself...this makes for amazing cleaning of the carpets (makes hoovering so much easier too!!) ...I brought this product because my hoover would not pick up entirely everything from my wooden floors. I was totally amazed by how great it works. It literally does pick up all dust including hairs and has a great swivel action to twist into corners. It came in a small box and you simply screw the limbs together in order to make the stem of the broom. It only cost me £8 approx. It's ideal for anybody who has a dust allergy problem and/or wooden or lino flooring. This one of my best buys this year. I hardly use my hoover....

...I bought my Vax hoover because my Morphy Richards (MR) fell apart after only 18 months. The main reason I chose this hoover is because it was on offer at Argos (reduced to £80 something) and I didn't want to pay the extortionate Dyson prices. I wanted a vacuum cleaner with a turbo brush because the one on the MR hoover had been amazing for pet hair. The turbo brush on the VAX is tiny and nowhere near as effective as the MR. The main vacuum bit is good but I have to keep it on hard floor setting to get all the hairs up and then it seems to want to eat the bathroom lino! I found it quite easy to assemble. It's quite hefty but not that noisy, it's actually good to drown out the drumming kid next door! I love the search light (but who hoovers in the dark?). The capacity of the dust bin is good....

...This company has been a nightmare. I had a kitchen fitted by them two years ago. Without warning me, they left my kitchen walls in a state that resembled a bomb site. They also ruined the lino flooring that I had down. They also installed cabinets with screws so long that they burst through the adjoining bathroom wall and ruined 4 bathroom tiles. In addition, units were not fitted level and there were gaps between the cooker and the units on one side and the other side was so close that I was unable to lift the lid on the cooker as it scraped against the cupboard above and to the left of the cooker. After much discussion and many phone calls, these problems were repaired - although the bathroom tiles were replaced they are a shade different to the rest in the bathroom and look obvious. The purple animal, with easy to use manual

The first time I used it I totally forgot how to pull out the tools but the manual was easy for me to understand. Seeing as I only clean up twice a week I had to use this a few times but now I find it 2nd nature. It's abit on the heavy side so is also great for building your muscles!!! The main things I like is that it has a very long hose so you dont have to balance it on the stairs. It has a cushioned front that doesn't damage the skirting boards. It's very powerful so I use half suction on the lino floor in the kitchen. It's so easy to empty too. You click off the cyclinder and hold it over the bin.
